    Beautiful Screen, Beautifully Made.

The Acer “CB2″ series model CB242Y replaces my older, but trusty LG 24″ IPS that has served me so well for the past 7 years. This Acer model brings along some the modern stylings that you’d expect from a more current monitor design such as:+ Much slimmer (about 1/2” all the way around)+ Higher contrast ratio+ Fewer input- plugs (you can always get a splitter if needed)+ Noticeably lighter in weight+ Fewer accessory-parts.If you work in graphics, you’ll definitely like this monitor for the resolution but the slimmer bezels mean that you have more viewable space/ real estate to work with. This is also an IPS screen. You’ve got (theoretically) 178 degree of viewing angles. Colors are noticeably vibrant when compared to standard non-IPS monitor screens. The current price (pre- Black Friday) is fluctuating in the $175 range. This is about accurate for the features offered here but if this drops significantly during the upcoming shopping season, I can’t over-recommend that you pick this up.Beautiful Screen, Beautifully Made.

    Lots of Control Over Visuals

I ordered this monitor to replace my monitor from the early 2000s. I was drawn to Acer’s monitor since it said that the brightness of the display was adjustable, something I had no control over my old too-bright monitor. The Acer monitor is really easy to change the settings. On the back of the monitor, there are 3 buttons, plus a little joystick button that toggles to select menu options. At first I was disappointed after I adjusted the brightness all the way down and the screen was still really bright. I then found that you also have the ability to change the contrast on the screen too. Once I adjusted that, I was able to significantly dim the screen. I do however wish that brightness could be dimmed more without having to change the contrast also. Some of the other things you can adjust for the picture include “Black Boost, Blue Light, ACM, Super Sharpness, Auto Config, H.Position”.You can also change settings for the color, performance, OSD, and system. The monitor position can also be adjusted for a wide range of heights and tilted forward or backward.I really like that you can customize your monitor so much. I don’t game with mine, but I do like to watch movies on the computer. The picture looks good both in the resolution and the colors.I’m really happy with this monitor, it’s done everything I’ve wanted it to.

    Totally worth it.

This monitor is amazing! I originally got this so I could have an extra screen for school, you know, zoom on one screen, work on the other, but I also use it for gaming. I use this for my laptop and it works great. I have lately been playing the new Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on it, and it really allows you to admire the beauty of the game. The monitor itself is sleek and the stand is awesome, allowing you to raise and lower, tilt forward and backward, and turn.Just FYI for all of you, to turn it on, you have to flip a switch, and push a power button to get it running, this was very confusing for me and I thought the monitor had come broken right out of the box.

    Great second monitor

When the pandemic forced most people to work from home, I thought about missing my colleagues, students, and even the quiet time that the commute provided me. What I didn’t realize is that I would miss the second monitor that I had in my office. I grade papers, create presentations, do data analysis with SPSS and Excel. No gaming or graphic intensive work. A few weeks ago I was in “alt-tab” hell moving between windows and realized I didn’t have a second monitor. So, I bought this as a second monitor to the 24″ monitor I’ve used with my home office for years (so many years I can’t remember when I bought it).The ACER is a great second monitor. Set up was easy – less than 10 minutes to open the box, attach the monitor to the stand, and connect it to the computer. I connected it to my Dell desktop via HDMI, clicked the power button, Windows automatically recognized “monitor 2,” and I was off and running. The color temperatures are slightly different on the two monitors, but not a deal breaker. If I were starting from scratch and didn’t want to buy a 27″ curved monitor, I’d probably go with two of these ACERs.

Works well for what I need it to.

I use a 155hz monitor as my main so I didn’t have a need for another expensive high refresh rate monitor. I needed something that could be viewed at almost any angle, had good colors, and wasn’t too expensive. I was choosing between this monitor and the BenQ GW2480. I ended up choosing this one because it’s way newer. From what I could find, this monitor only came out a few months ago. The BenQ monitor is like 2-3 years old.I ended up using a dual monitor arm, but I did play around with the stand for a few minutes just to check it out. It rotates, tilts, and swivels. Believe it or not, this is actually uncommon. My brother still complains to me about the $200 monitor he bought last year that only tilts.I’m someone who will do hours of research on an item so I can end up with the best product possible. This is the best monitor under $135 IMO. Definitely recommend. Freesync, IPS, good stand, low price.
