Good for gaming and office use with Brown switches

I’ve been looking for a minimal style keyboard for my office use. I know that this particular keyboard is more for gaming but I find it’s very usable for office work as well. Please not that it doesn’t have the keypad. But for my need for fast typing, I pair it my Lenovo Thinkpad 13 Chromebook and they work together seemlessly. This particular keyboard uses Brown switches meaning that they don’t make a lot of noise plus spring back very quickly after actuation – this switch is popular for gaming and good for office, as its noise level is the same as those regular keyboards.

One of the quieter cheap boards out there

The keyfeel on this board is great, a lot like a slightly softer MX brown. I like the third backlight mode that increases in brightness the more you type, and fades as you stop typing. The chassis is built well and has little flex, generally the board feels high quality. I’m also thankful for the full height keycaps – I far prefer these to low profile ones.In the issues category: stabilization. All the longer keys are not all that well stabilized and move a bit side to side and make a bit of noise. Some of this can be resolved by bending out the stabilizer bar. I also added o rings on the spacebar and the backspace keys, and it’s a very reasonable noise level now. Fairly sure my coworkers wouldn’t have noticed if I hadn’t discussed the board with them.Overall I’d say this is a stellar value for a tenkeyless board with brown switches, and most importantly it’s quieter than some of its competition and has full height keycaps.

Traditional Layout; Key labeling needs to be better

This is a traditional keyboard layout with the numeric keypad on the right. I’m better than a hunt-and-peck typist, but I’d like the lettering of the keys to be bolder. I think it washes out too easily. The colored back-lighting is a pleasant feature that I like. After using this for several months, I went back to using a standard Dell keyboard. The lettering on the keys of the DAREU keyboard is just too faint to see and the feel of the keys is too cheap.

    Impressive features

I’m not one for fancy gadgets but I needed a new keyboard. I work in my office at night after I put the kids to bed so often I’m at the computer in the dark. I got this keyboard because of the backlighting. I love being able to see the keys easily. What I didn’t realize is you can actually feel the keys click when you press them so you know if it was pressed down enough or not. Overall I’m much happier than I thought I would be with this keyboard.

Individual keys are not backlit, so the letters (etc) on the keys are still unrecognizable.

I ordered this keyboard “DAREU Quiet Wired Keyboard, LED Backlit” because I often use my PC without ambient light, and using the room light doesn’t work well for reading the monitor. Unfortunately, the individual keys are not backlit. That is, the back light does not illuminate the letters, so it is still hard to find the key you want in the dark. The back light shines underneath the keys, so typing is still difficult. I also find the keys to be too mushy, but workable. The “breathing” and color changing of the backlight is also extremely distracting. If you intend on using the keyboard in the dark or low light conditions, look for one where the backlight shines through the keys, so the letters, etc. -are visible.

Overall very solid keyboard, if not without a few minor quirks

I’ve had this keyboard for a few months now, and can definitely say that it has held up to the task. On start-up, however, the keyboard does not appear to remember the last lighting mode you set it at, so you have to set it up every time you restart your computer. The feel of the keyboards seems fine, although the travel compared to some of my other keyboards seems a bit long. That being said, the keycaps seem durable as does the base.

If you don’t mind the clicking sound it should be ok

I don’t like the touch of the keys and the clicking sound drives me crazy, I can’t stand it. I tried before a game and it little it makes me crazy; my ears are too sensitive to be hearing that click sound every time I press a key. But, if you don’t mind that click sound, this keyboard should be good for you. Not for me.

    Solid construction and responsive keys

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

I ordered this for my 18 year old son and let me tell you he was so excited!! He said that the RGB lighting is amazing, the media keys are nice and responsive, that the keyboard is solid and not cheaply made. He highly recommends this to all other gamers!

Save your money for a better one

For 20 bucks, it’s pretty good but it does have some flaws. First of the backlighting is not individual for each key so it can seem to look a little inconsistent in some areas. Number 2 this keyboard is not rgb, it can only be 1 set color at a time. And finally, it’s a mechanical feel keyboard not an actual one but at 20 bucks you should be expecting that. If you were able to spend 30 I would recommend one of redragons keyboards.
