Death is not an escape. Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4VS1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured, and killed. Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their Prey. The survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play. Really great game! Super fun and unpredictable. Even though we do the same tasks when we play the experience is different due to playing with other real life people. Keep in mind you need to pay monthly for Nintendo online in order to play. This is crucial because you won’t be able to play unless you have that. Also it’s probably more fun playing with people you know since you’ll get to team up against the killer. I don’t have friends so I don’t play with people I know but I’ll run into some nice people. Unlike the PC version the chat is unavailable. My only complaint is the graphics aren’t that great. I knew this when I purchased the game because I heard people complain about it but I still got it. I was recently in the NintendoE shop and saw there was a downloadable version of this game. The graphics on the downloadable one looks better so I might encourage you guys getting that one instead. But anyways the seller was nice and it came to me fast so can’t complain too much.

Listen, I love dead by daylight. I hog my boyfriend’s pc to play it all the time. But there are a lot of glaring issues with this port. I thought buying it on the Switch would be nice because I thought it would surely have good graphics, run smoothly, and I liked the idea of being able to play it on a handheld.First thing I noticed after booting it up in handheld: it looks awful! The grass and environment load pixelly and you can’t see very far before the game just supplies grey fog. Plus the characters all look awful and malformed because their textures don’t load properly. And gameplay wasn’t any better. Every skill check drops frames, making it almost impossible to hit them. The load times are long, and the cross-platforming seems to destabilize the game, about 25% of my matches ended because the killer suddenly disconnected. Not to mention your character rubber bands like crazy during chases, you can dead hard and zip around a corner and suddenly the game decides you somehow actually slammed straight into the killer behind you.We set it up on the TV which really increased the graphics quality but why even port it to the switch if its unplayable in handheld? That’s the whole damn point of a switch. I’ll be returning this. If I wanted to play it on my TV and startle all my neighbors I would’ve bought it for my PS4. At least the graphics would be good.

Only con is graphics are not the best. But overall this game runs smooth. I can play this anywhere in the house! Free killers and survivors added with this edition. Fun online multiplayer game that’s not for kids.

Got this copy for portability [pc usually] so now I can murder strangers online rather than my family at the holidays.Yes graphics are downgraded and its missing a couple dlc killers yet, but its still dbd otg so worth it at the $20 pricepoint imo. I like that it comes with Ace, Kate, Adam, & Pheng and killers Spirit, Clown, Hag, & Doc.Important tip: If the game won’t start after installing, hit restart using the switch’s power button and its gtg.

The port runs smoothly, and I’ve ran into minimal glitches. The only complaint I have is the blurriness of the survivors and killers which I’m hoping will get a graphical update soon, and the fact that sometimes the textures don’t load in properly. Other than that, it’s decent, it has a smooth frame rate and is a joy to play. Not the worst port, but also not the best. (In terms of graphics)

I really love this game it is so much fun. Here’s a breakdown for those looking into it.There are 2 roles, survivors and murderers.Survivors- your goal is to start 5 out of the 7 generators and open the gate to escape. You can also do other things to help your team like; heal teammates, unhook them, cleanse totems, find items, troll the murderer just to name a few.Murderer- your goal is to prevent anyone escaping by sacrificing survivors on hooks. Other things you can do help prevent their escape are; damaging generators, setting traps, closing the escape hatch (when it appears) and applying pressure to the survivors to slow them down. The game is a really fun 4 vs 1 game, it has a lot of different facets to it and many different styles of play. Each character and murderer has their own skill tree with unique abilities. Later on at higher levels 30,35,40 you can teach those unique abilities to other characters you play as. Lots of variety to keep the game fresh and they are bringing out more DLC. Worth every penny. One important note: is there is no single player mode, a Nintendo switch online account is REQUIRED for game play. It’s not a bad thing, it just looked like there might have been some confusion in the questions.

The switch is the only console I’ve played this on, and here are my first impressions: Like others have said, it’s a good port, and the graphics are what I would expect for the switch. That would be nice if they got an update though. That being said, I’ve only played the survival mode so far, and this game is hard! I hardly ever survive. It’s best if you work as a team to repair generators (usually 5 total) so you can power up the gate and escape. They take a while to repair, and there are little mini games called “skill checks” that randomly pop up during the process. Press the left bumper at the wrong time, and the generator backfires, alerting the killer to your location. You really have to be paying attention while repairing the generator so you can pass the skill checks, while at the same time listening for a heartbeat that lets you know that the killer is getting close. It seems like our whole team usually gets killed before we get anything accomplished.Con?: It seems like there’s no way to fight back against the killer. You have to really play it smart and sneak around. This also makes team work all the more important. Still, you can be doing everything right and still get caught. Once you’re caught, you get hung on a hook, and there is no way to escape unless another teammate is feeling nice enough to unhook you. And many times, the killer just camped close by and killed everyone as they tried to save someone else. There’s a lot of interesting DLC for this on the Eshop which I might check out. It’s definitely a fun game.I may be a little biased because I’ve played it more, but I think Friday the 13th might be a better game. The maps are bigger, and there’s much more variety as far as ways to escape, things to repair, and places to hide or run. You can also fight back, which makes it more fun in my opinion. And Jason has many many more ways to kill you too. Not just a plane old hook like this game.If you play as a killer though, I think this game has more variety in that area. It scared the crap out of me with some of the different killers that came after me.

I’ve played this on Xbox One X and PS4 and it’s great. SInce it’s multiplayer online only, there are times the gag will lag because of internet speed issues. On the switch, the first thing you’ll notice is the incredibly poor graphics. The characters look like mush. Some things are so pixelated they are hard to make it. On maps that are very dark and feature plants, they all blend together. It’s very difficult to do skill checks on the generators because of weird lag issues in the graphics. Playing as a survivor is incredibly difficult in this version because of the skill check issues.I’m most likely going to try to return this game because it’s so awful.

Very fun game, I’ve had a lot of fun.Overall, the port is okay. the cursor in the menu is very laggy, if you’ve played this on PC then you’ll be able to tell, not that big of a deal. Graphics are acceptable, it’s the switch so I don’t care. If I want high end graphics I’ll play on PC.The queue times for survivor are okay and the queue times for the killer are pretty long. Longer than on PC. Players are a bit worse on switch to be honest. My main gripe with the game is that there is no offline. The main reason to buy games on switch as opposed to other consoles is portability. I really just wish the game had bots even if they are terrible. To be fair, no one ever said this game was supposed to be different on switch.Would I buy this again? Depends on the price (I got my copy for $20, at this price sure). But on switch, no. But if it’s your only console, then yes. The game is very very fun.
