Gaming Peripherals for a Fraction of the Price

During this stay at home order, I got a lot of requests from family asking to build a gaming PC for them, but on a limited budget. It’s great to have an RGB themed gaming peripherals but is way too expensive. I was a little skeptical getting this Havit brand, but after using it, I’m now a believer. If there is one thing that left a bitter taste on me, it’s the packaging. I’m quite annoyed that I have to pull out the keyboard and mouse from the small side of the box, all other KB boxes I had opens from the top. But other than that, everything is great. First, the build quality, the top frame is made of aluminum. It feels very durable and can hardly flex at all. Both the mouse and keyboard have braided cables, which I believe should become the standard for PC peripherals. The detachable palm rest is made of plastic and not cushion. Although I feel that the palm rest is fine for a couple of hours playing, but some people may find it hard on the wrist for longer periods of time, but you can always remove it if you don’t like it. Both the KB caps and mouse are made of premium plastic, similar materials you’ll get from those $200 branded ones. I love mechanical keyboards, and this keyboard uses the blue switches. The keys are very clicky, and yet a little softer or less resistance compared to other blue switches. I would say the key feels something in between of blue and brown switches. I played a couple of fast paced FPS games, and the response time for both KB and mouse is outstanding. No lag or missed keys while playing. One thing about the mouse, is that although it has 6 different DPI settings, it doesn’t have 1200 DPI whish is the one I got used too. But the 1600 DPI setting doesn’t feel a whole lot of different anyways and should be good for the majority.Overall, I am surprised how good this keyboard and mouse combo is. Is it great for gaming? Oh yeah it is great. Is it good for everyday casual use? Of course, yes. Is it durable? Solid aluminum frame, yes. Will I buy this again? Definitely. Highly recommended.

The lighting effects are the best thing about this keyboard.

After having used it for a month I thought I’d write a review on it.Pros:Feels good to type withNice lighting effectsThe mouse is greatSounds niceCons:Within the first 2 hours of use I noticed the 1 ] space and esc key were all highly unresponsive, having to click multiple times to get them to workThere is noticeable delay in the key strokes making it hard to game on, at least around .7 seconds of delay since in Osu this one always hits late, where as I do perfect with a cheap $5 membrane I picked up from a thrift store.Sometimes the keys don’t click at all, need to reload? Not happening.I mainly spend my time programming, so it is just a tedious task to sometimes have my buttons not work. I don’t play too many games or anything important so it fits my needs, but I’d recommend watching out for this one if you’re using it for any serious competitive play or applications where making a typing mistake could affect you. (programming… lol)

    Amazing for the price

This keyboard is beyond good for the price. It is fully mechanical as promised with multiple different RGB backlight modes, which is a great plus. On top of this I only just learned that the keyboard had 5 different customizable profiles, which is especially great for a keyboard that only costs about 40 USD. The keyboard uses Kailh switches rather than Cherry MX but that isn’t really a problem for me, it’s pretty durable and the mouse is a nice plus, although I never use it. It is NOT a tenkeyless keyboard which might be a downer for some people, but for a price tag of 40 dollars this is BEYOND a steal. I’ve seen other budget keyboards such as Redragons which cost up to 60 USD without nearly as many features as this keyboard. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this keyboard to anyone else looking for one.Edit: Well uhh the mouse broke after 2 weeks but it’s not like I cared for it so yeah.Edit: Ok so the switches appear to be “Jixian” not “Kailh” but they’re both just off-brand MX switches so not much of a difference.

    Good customer service

When I ordered this there was a weird fraction of a second lag with the keyboard. I’d type a sentence and the letters would be slightly mixed up (like abc becomes acb). I type over 100WPM so I thought, well, maybe it’s me using a new keyboard I’m not used to and it will get better over time? Nope. It didn’t get better over a few months. Customer service contacted me and sent me a replacement keyboard. I just did a three minute typing test with it and it’s much better! I’m really happy with the replacement. The LEDs are nice. I wish the keyboard was more ergonomic by removing the numpad on the right side that nobody ever uses so it can rest closer to my mouse. The keys are dark with LEDs on the inside lighting up the iconography on each key. The iconography is a bit blobby / low quality on some keys, so they can be hard to read or make out without leaning in to look at them.

Comfortable keyboard and the mouse is just as good

I needed a gaming keyboard to play Warframe. I like this mechanical keyboard specifically because the keys are “clicky.” You know when you’ve hit a key. The bonus surprise was the mouse. If you like to palm the mouse like I do, then this mouse will work very well for you. If you like to hold the mouse with just your thumb and pinky and move it around like that, the mouse may be an issue. I like it though. Also the color options on the keyboard/mouse are fun and make the keyboard that much more enjoyable. I’ve had the keyboard/mouse about a week now and have played heavily with it and am very pleased with it.

Good Budget Mechanical Keyboard and mouse

I was skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure if you were going to get a really really cheapo keyboard and mouse. But, it’s far from that. I didn’t really want to spend too much on keyboard. So, I took the chance and purchased this combo. This is also my first mechanical keyboard and I am impressed. I have always liked and used membrane keyboard. This could easily be priced at least over $70. The build quality is impressive. It definitely is a mechanical keyboard. It’s very clicky. Typing feels good and for me took some time to get used to. The mice is good and responsive. I am happy with this purchase.

Surprisingly good quality for the price but the LEDs…ugh

My expectations were not that high given the price. I am pleasantly surprised. For the price point, the keyboard works very well and has a decent feel. Same with the mouse, even for FPS twitch gaming. My frame of reference is expensive high performance mechanical keyboards. I spend so much time driving one that a very good keyboard is a necessity. This product may not be that, but I have zero issues using it for casual gaming or general use. I do not use it solely, or frequently for that matter, and would not expect it to hold up to near constant professional use over time. For periodic use with a laptop and guest gaming rig it has been great. Have I mentioned the annoying RGBs?The keyboard has a pleasing clicky and positive feel. The mouse is responsive, reasonably fast and accurate. Mouse buttons are fine. The mouse itself is a little larger than many and doesn’t feel quite as nice as many high end gaming mice, but it is quite serviceable once one adapts to it.The RGB lighting is something I detest. Others will consider it an attractive feature. Had there been a non-RGB version I would have bought it. Thankfully, it can be controlled. It would be nice to have a hard switch to disable it. The software for the keyboard from Havit’s site works well to tame to RGBs antics. If you need an inexpensive keyboard and mouse combo, and like LED silliness, this may be the keyboard for you. Even if you don’t want the LED behaviors, a few keystrokes should allow you to find a tolerable lighting mode.To be clear, I’d buy this again if there wasn’t something comparable available without RGB. I don’t expect it to last forever but at this price, it is hard to go wrong. Easily bests the truly disposable keyboards often sold at almost the price of this one.

Hard to read font on keyboard key spacing is close good switch feel

Update, a month and 7 days later, it refuses to be recognized. So the cost to use was a little under a dollar a day. Not that great of a keyboard with the funky font, and small key spacing, the entire experience was disappointing.Once again I am reminded that you get what you pay forhe funky font used on the keys seems meaningless and is hard to read on the number keys and some of the main keys. To me it looks like they look like a bad key job, but I know how the B and th Q and the p as well as the special characters on the numbers is intentional. The key lighting does not work as described in the manual and had to you tube it. If I bought strictly on key feel 5 stars But on usability a 1 The keys feel unusually close to me, I would like to see the key spacing increased and to have them trash the crappy font. They need to fix the instructions and perhaps try making some drivers.

    It’s bright, It’s pretty … It’s large and clicky

It is a nice keyboard and mouse set. Both are wired, so no batteries, but you need the usb spaces to plug them in.I have kinda small hands and I find both the key board and mouse a little on the large side, not totally impossible to use by any means, but I do find myself making typos a lot more because the keys are kinda spaced out a bit wider than I am use to and the mouse is huge in my hand so after a short time, my hand starts to hurt because I am using it.I LOVE that the keys stay lit and that you can make them do just about anything you want them to do color wise. You can specify the color of individual keys, you can make them all the same color, you can make them breath different colors and so much more, the mouse has the light too and you can make it do different patterns and things to, although I don’t have that one totally down pat yet.Oh and the key board is very clicky… loud, you know you are typing! lol.. So that is a matter of preference, I would prefer that is was much quieter, but everyone in the house here besides me loves a clicky keyboard… so it a personal preference, like I said.Over all it is a good keyboard and mouse, I haven’t had any problems with it, the mouse has a ton of buttons you can program for game stuff, I haven’t yet, not sure what game I have to use this feature, but I am sure it will come in handy at some point. If you need a key board and you like clicky and you either have big hands or don’t mind the hand work out… I would recommend it.

For the price its worth it.

For the $55 price this keyboard is worth it. It had full RGB and software can be used with it with both the keyboard and mouse. The build quality is great and the lighting has a good range of color. The board is metal im sure aluminum, It’s sturdy and has a great build quality. They keys are clicky and I believe are brown switches. At least that’s what I saw on their site. Both the Keyboard and mouse are breaded and im sure wont tear. The mouse feels great and I have good sized hands. The buttons on the side depending on the game will work as macros. The buttons on the mouse are clicky and feel sturdy. For anyone that’s wanting a premium quality keyboard for cheap this is the one to get. They do have software for the mouse and keyboard. Mainly the mouse. The software for the mouse is from the HV-KB378L Which will work with with they keyboard. You will unlock all functions from color customization to how you want the keyboard to react. The video posted is my keyboard reacting to the software.
