This is a very well built keyboard. I love the volume scroll wheel. This is a game changer for me. Highly recommend the k70 keyboards. If you are really into gaming then the rapid fire might be good for you. If you play a lot of FPS and need quick response time. Then rapid fire red switches are what you’re looking for. However if you plan on doing any kind of typing for school ect…DO NOT buy this one. Look at either getting a brown, or blue switch. This keyboard is extremely annoying to type essays for school. The keys are WAY too sensitive and you will have a million spelling mistakes.

I bought the K70 RAPIDFIRE with Red LED only and am very happy with it. I have never used a mechanical keyboard so can’t comment on how the RAPIDFIRE keys feel compared to MX RED/BROWN/BLUE but I can say from coming from a standard non mechanical keyboard the key stroke distance feels like it is the same or less. The keys do clack a lot louder than I expected but it is not a deal breaker for me. The individual LED and media controls at a price point at $100 or less is what I was looking for and is why I got this keyboard. The fact that it has an aluminum frame which makes it look amazing and feel very sturdy is great as well. Individual key control through the Corsair Utility Engine software is just an extra perk to me. I do very much like the feel and look of this keyboard and after using it a few days have adjusted to how I need to feather keys for each individual game I play as it certainly is a different touch than a standard keyboard. Overall I am very satisfied with this keyboard and I can see why people are also recommending Corsair Mechanical Keyboards lately. These are truly a cut above!

Ordered it a few days ago, got here fast. I got no CAPS indicator lights, switch works but no indicator light. Num lock and Scroll Lock indicator lights not working as well. Keyboard tunes stop key doesn’t work either. And the keyboard driver program doesn’t detect the keyboard. I’m running a Mac OS Version 10.12.5. Tried using running Parells too with windows 10, utility program works, but doesn’t detect keyboard nor do any of the key lock indicators lights work and same issue with tunes, stop key not working!!!Update:Received the replacement keyboard promptly. I have the same exact problems. In order to run the K70 on a mac you cannot be running the Sierra OS, won’t work. however, you can run it under Parallels. Parallels enables you to run windows on a mac. Keyboard won’t work properly on a Macbook Pro or an IMac, keys work and lights up, but no caps lock indicator lights work while in Macs Operating System. The K70 does work if you’re running parallels, but you will need to physically disconnect the keyboard or the keyboard won’t be seen by their utilities program. I had to disconnect/reconnect keyboard several times before keyboard showed a solid connection. I’m guessing it works fine on a PC, unfortunately I don’t have a working PC. Works fine on the mac except for not having the caps light working sux! Sooo I do see some small Phillips head screws underneath the keys, have a soldering iron and really want this to work. Pissed, where’s my screwdriver…

My first mechanical keyboard, i play fps, mobas and a couple of other genres. The keys are very sensitive and will register a stroke at the slightest touch, took me a few weeks to get used to it.The first few weeks i would rest my hand and would accidentally hold a key down such as space and not realize it.Very fast to activate any abilities in games i play. Driving games are a bit hard, but who uses keyboard for driving games?Solid and durable feeling construction, base of the keyboard is some sort of metal which i assume to be aluminium (i didn’t read all the specs)Also includes other amenities such as a usb port, a set of volume control for your media player and sleep and lock buttons.

I enjoyed this keyboard. Probably the stupidest thing about it was the fact that it takes up two USB ports for some reason. After about 4 months, the R key began to spit out a string of random characters, making it basically unusable. I didn’t spill anything on the keyboard at all. I Googled the problem and the official Corsair forums said that I should open up the keyboard and clean the back of it with electronics grade contact cleaner. I did that exactly, the problem still persisted.I emailed Corsair’s customer support asking for an RMA for my defective keyboard. They took 3 weeks to respond and said that because I had opened and cleaned the back of it, I had violated the RMA exclusion term which is “The warranty does not cover damage or problems resulting from unauthorized repairs.” Even though I explained that my problem did NOT result from me simply cleaning the back of the keyboard, and that I had read this solution on their official troubleshooting forums, my warranty request was denied.Do not buy this keyboard. If you do, there is a good chance it will have defective components. If you do get a defective keyboard, don’t even attempt to open and clean it because you will void your warranty. And even if you don’t attempt to clean it, you will have a great time waiting up to a month (I’ve heard of even longer waits) for a response from the RMA team, where they can decide to not satisfy your warranty for any number of arbitrary reasons. Also the software sucks.EDIT: Corsair finally agreed to RMA my keyboard so I’m gonna update this review to 5 stars. It’s a great keyboard and I missed using it very much, I just had bad luck I guess.

I’ve always used razor mechanical keyboards, razor black widow tournament edition, Razor Black Widow X Chroma, and now I’m using this, the Corsair Gaming K70 Rapidfire Mechanical keyboard, the red led version since I’m not too into the lighting anymore. Keys feel so much better, I like the sound more too, because the loud razor switches just were obnoxiously loud to me after a while. These switches, the Cherry MX Speed switches, feel nice, and sound nice.I wasn’t sure if I was going to even notice the keys being faster, but honestly, I could tell right away. I play overwatch a lot, ranked masters and I play mainly hitscan heros, like Mccree or widowmaker. Everything reacts a lot faster and my game feels a lot smoother now, placebo effect idk but I love this keyboard., and after owning Razor keyboards most of my gaming life, I can honestly say this is a lot better quality.

This keyboard I bought less than six months ago, and have had for all that time. The construction feels fairly good for the price, the volume adjustment and extra USB port are convenient, and it feels fairly satisfactory to type on. The wrist rest is detachable, and functional. The fact it doesn’t go out of its way to have pointless “macro keys” increasing the size of the keyboard for no good reason is also a plus, in my eyes. There are three brightness levels (not including “off”) for the red LEDs underneath each key, and there is software you can obtain for it, though I haven’t bothered much with this software myself so I cannot comment on its quality. Each key can be easily detached for easy cleaning, and there are some extra keys for the “WASD” keys in particular that replace the black keys with slightly more textured white “angled” keys, which is nice for those who find a use to them. I find that these make no difference in use, of course.I would ordinarily give it a higher rating, perhaps four stars, given these facts. Except for the fact that less than six months into owning the keyboard, one of the LEDs has burnt out, underneath the “Z” key. This is, of course, utterly unacceptable. The keyboard which I owned before this one did not have a single LED burn out after years of use, and I only replaced it with this keyboard because I wished to have a nice entry mechanical keyboard to try out. While the construction quality of this keyboard seems decent enough, I cannot take the risk of buying another Corsair keyboard after such a defect has occurred. I do not have a car, or easy means to package and attempt to send it in for repairs – if the warranty would even cover such a return – so I am likely going to just have to deal with a missing light on one of my keys from now until whenever I end up buying a new keyboard.Still, I am willing to give Corsair the benefit of the doubt, and I likely just got unlucky with my device. Still, having a keyboard have a problem after mere months is not a good sign, when they typically should last for many years without any problems. Keyboards are not an item that you should have to frequently replace or worry about, let alone a mechanical keyboard that is supposed to be “durable.”

Top notch construction and functionality. Love the features but what I really wanted was a gaming keyboard with a much quieter key click sound. The keys use a modernistic squared off font which makes the non-illuminated shifted characters a bit difficult to decipher. Also he shifted characters are shown below rather than above the base characters…a minor quibble but worth noting. The keys seem to be shaped (not much taper) so they are closer together than I’m accustomed to and I “fat-finger” when typing. The keyboard is full sized. The integrated volume control is genius and the wrist rest works well for me.No software is included or necessary for basic use but the free downloadable software allows amazing customization by game(!) and is highly recommended. If you are okay with a clicky gaming keyboard, buy it . I’m still looking for a quieter keyboard with all the features of this one. Membrane?
