    Top Tier Joy-Con Alternatives!

These Joy-cons are far the BEST alternatives. The grip in handheld mode is comfortable and you can spend HOURS playing your Nintendo Switch. The Charging cable for these Joy-Cons are split to connect and charge both of them. The color for the Joy-Cons of Neon Green and Neon Magenta stands out to where you’re able to not lose it. The BATTERY LIFE is OUTSTANDING, you only need to charge them once a week for a full battery. When using it in handheld mode, it reminds me of holding an xbox controller or playstation controller, I don’t feel bothered from it. Easy to sync with your Nintendo Switch. There’s also two types of modes when using the joy-cons TURBO and MACRO. Very recommended when gaming, I use it for Mortal Kombat.Overall, I recommend purchasing these joy-cons as they’re great alternatives to the real one. It’ll help you from not using the original ones a lot!

Great Substitute for Official Joy-con, Just Not Perfect

I purchased this pair when I had sent my two pairs of official joy-cons to Nintendo for repair. I was a little scared that I had just purchased some nice plastic doorstops, but I honestly like these joy-cons better than the real thing. They’re super comfortable in handheld mode and when using the two joy-cons as one controller.Although, using one joy-con feels a little awkward and not nearly as comfortable. Also, you have to do a little finagling when using them wirelessly. They work every time… eventually. Overall, they’re a great alternative to the real thing.

    We like ’em!

These work great for our switch. My son’s like that they are thicker than the switch joy-con. The adapter controller is nice as well. The only part I didn’t consider before buying is that because they are bigger they can not be attached to the console and charge while in the docking station. They also do not fit the charging stand for the other joy cons BUT they do come with a charging cord that plugs right into the console so you are able to keep everything together and charging while the console is docked. The colors are great and helps keep track of whose controller is whose when playing multiplayer games. So far the controllers work with all the games we have. Overall great product for the price and we like how they from differ the others.

Better than the originals that came with the Switch

The original joycon controllers that came with our Switch broke after less than a year of use. Apparently other people have had this problem as well. So I replaced the original controllers with this one. This is different in the original ones in that it has a large 3D handgrip on the back of the controllers instead of flat like the Nintendo brand. This makes it way easier and more comfortable for playing the switch as a handheld as my children use it. I actually like these better than the original ones that came with it.The pieces do slide easily onto the sides of the witch handheld and didn’t require any special setup. Sometimes my kids attach them to the included center piece to use as a single controller when they play on the TV.I was having trouble figuring out the blinking light system for the controllers when they charge. I don’t know if there were any instructions included with the controller, I think my kids threw out all the original packaging. So I contacted the seller and got a response the same day. (Blinking is charging and solid light is charged).

Had my hopes for this product but it’s cheap in too many ways.

Eh, not liking this. To start, I own the Satisfy grip, which I love, but I wanted something with a dpad. I’ve been going back and forth on getting one of those dpad shells for my joycon and continuing to use my Satisfy grip until I saw this.I was hoping to be able to have a grip to my switch and a dpad at the same time with this product but the quality just didn’t do it for me. Also the “grip” feels more like a bulge and just doesn’t sit comfortably in my hands. It’s too stubby and stops prior to my pinkies so I have to awkwardly hold it up with my ring fingers. The Satisfy grip fits like a glove. The dpad is not good. It’s really flat and not raised enough so it feels finicky to use. I actually enjoy the buttons on the joycon over this dpad, and I don’t like the buttons on the joycon…so that should tell you something. The lights inside the controller shine through the plastic and it’s hard to not notice and get distracted by while gaming. When you’re charging your switch, you can see the pairing lights cycling up and down through the plastic. It comes off really cheap when you see it.Deadzone, yup it has it and it’s noticeable. Not only is there a deadzone in the middle, but about 20% of the outer perimeter registers the same. So even though there is more physical movement to these analog sticks verses the joycon sticks, there really isn’t that much more accuracy in movement. You have to get out of the deadzone for the stick to register and then once you get about 80% to the edge, the stick is already registering like you’re at the edge. Basically you only have about 10% after the center and up to 80% to the edge for movement, and it’s hard not to notice this while playing.Another thing about these sticks, they are really tight and they force you into up/down/left/right. It doesn’t feel smooth, you can feel as you make a circle that the stick wants to fall into those 4 positions. If you’re trying to move to the side and lightly forward, the stick with nudge you to just moving right. I’ve never felt that before until this controller and it’s very odd to use because of it.Stick clicking (L3/R3) is also super weird. There is a noticeable click when you push down, but that’s not the actual click. You have to push down even further and then you’ll hear a 2nd louder click. That’s the actually click. So when you push down on a stick, you feel a click and then an even bigger click each time. Again, feels super weird. Every time I tried to run in a 1st person shooter, I either didn’t click down hard enough to get that 2nd click and was still walking OR I’d over compensate by pushing super hard while accidentally pushing the stick to the side at the same time. No exaggeration, the joycon sticks with there short throw offered me a m more accurate and enjoyable gaming experience.Last thing was the l button, and this has got to be a QC thing but it’s suuuuuper loose and rattles around. When you go to click it, it makes a light tapping sound like the click of the r/l on joycons. So you think you clicked l but didn’t. Similar to the sticks, you have to push past that tapping sound to get it to actually click. That was my final straw, I stopped immediately and put the controller back into the box for return.

    Great controller for the price

This is a great 3rd party controller for the Switch. It slides into the slots on the Switch that the original controllers slide onto without an issue. It takes a little less time than the original controllers to charge and I was able to get about 6 hours of playing time before having to recharge. I bought this controller so that my little ones wouldn’t destroy my original controllers. This controller has taken quite the beating from 5 year old hands and still works like a charm. I recommend this controller as a great substitute for the original. Feedback during play is on point and there is no noticeable lag with the connection.

Just okay – battery life bad / connection issues daily!

Pros: clear instructions / easilySlides into switch / buttons clicks are good / texture is okayCons: constantly Bluetooth disconnect / you have to program controller via adapter and usb – and when it constantly disconnects then it is a pain in the butt especially if you don’t have all those items with you to reconnect the controller.Battery life is awful! Literally I may have a defective set but the battery last maybe an hour / MAYBE AN HOURnOverall 3 out of 5 stars for me – I had high hopesFor this but the. I saw them all over ebay for a few dollars cheaper and the reviews there weren’t so good either. So….oh well – still waiting for Nintendo to fix my drift in my regular Joycons . So these will do for now ;-((

Great controller! Feels great and has some nice features.

I have recently been into modding controllers and the different types of controllers out there and my research led me to this one. I was slightly interested in the official licensed Hori one but when I found out that it in particular wasn’t wireless I was like heck no! I decided to try this one instead seeing as it had fun colors and wireless functionality which I feel like is super important! I have the regular official pro controller and I personally don’t like it because it is too big for my hands. I wanted bigger than the regular joy cons but smaller than the pro.Anyways! This controller set up super easy for me! It probably has my favorite D pad ever! I like to play Tetris 99 so a good D pad is a must for me and my hands cramp up after awhile on the regular joy cons. I was able to fit my cute button covers on the joysticks. (The pro fits ps4 sized covers) The buttons have a satisfying click to them. I’m still getting used to the macro and turbo buttons but they are super cool. I can’t wait to use them in animal crossing to craft repetitively without all the effort! XD

Awesome solid joy-con controllers. Excellent Grip!

These joy-con remotes are awesome! I love that they have some bulkiness to them and not flat and tiny like the original Nintendo joy-con remotes. I have big hands the grip feels amazing. They are my favorite remotes to use aside from one of my pro controllers. The battery life is amazing. I’ve only had to charge them once in the week that I’ve had em. My wife and kids use them everyday to play Just Dance 2020.Charging is super easy. These controllers come with a Y cord that will split one USB connection into two USB-C connections for charging. No needing to find two cables to charge these remotes.Definitely recommend getting a pair of these instead of spending twice as much for official Nintendo Joy-Cons.

    Totally worth the money!

Original joycons are expensive, a little awkward to hold, and kind of flimsy. These joycons are none of those things. These feel like controllers that can take a hit because they’re solid and not heavy. They fit well in the hand, the joysticks and buttons feel great, they work very well independently or together, and they can charge with the usb port or on the switch. The only thing keeping these from being 5-star is they’re vibration. First, when the joycons vibrate they sound and feel like the rumble pack on an N64 controller (for those who remember those). It’s not an overpowering vibration, but it can be annoying. Second, there is no varying level of vibration; it’s always full on. For example, in Super Mario Odyssey there are certain moons (the main collectibles in that game) that require you to ground pound the spot on the floor where the moon is hidden. The only clue you get to finding the exact spot to ground pound is by using the vibration of the joycons. The closer you get the stronger they vibrate. With these budget joycons they always vibrate the strongest no matter where you are. I got similar results with games like Animal Crossing, Overcooked, and Smash.I thought maybe the angle of the joycons when they were attached to the controller part would mess with my inputs, but I played Smash off and online for hours without ever feeling like the joycons misread my inputs (and I make rapid inputs when playing Smash). And unlike the joycons that came with my Switch these joycons, when attached to my Switch, feel so solid and tight on their that they are my preferred joycons to use with my switch. And if these break they’re only $40 to replace as opposed to upwards of $100 for original joycons. If you can get past the vibration problem these joycons are great for $40. If I could give 4 and a half stars I would.
