  1. I like to run!

    Good game, but buggy.

This is a good game. If you’re into RPGs, magic, and lots of good lore, this is the game for you! There’s no shortage of good loot or quests. There are, however, some release day bugs. Half way through my game, I kept getting crashes when I’d try to proceed through a dungeon. Here’s what I did to stop crashes on my game:1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game2. Turned all camera settings down to their lowest setting. After I got past the part that always crashed, I cranked up the camera settings again and have been playing as before.

    Enjoyable gameplay, poor implementation

I saw some reviews of this game and, having played the original World of Warcraft, I thought it might be enjoyable. The graphics are definately not up to today’s standards, but I don’t really care about that as long as its fun. Overall, I would say that the gameplay, story, etc are enjoyable, but there are a bunch of bugs that ruin the fun for me. Text is sometimes cut off, spells look like they are still active when they aren’t, etc. The thing that takes the MOST joy out of playing is the load times. I’m not sure if it is the same for every platform, but on the PS4 Pro, every time you enter or leave a building you have to wait between 15 and 30 seconds for the game to load. Imagine trying to explore a town with 10 buildings, you are going to be waiting at loading screens for 10 minutes as you go in and out of the buildings. It really takes the enjoyment out of it. I would not recommend this game unless you have nothing else to do as you wait for Cyberpunk 2077. 😉

nice remaster of an excellent game

You might have heard how this is a ‘bad’ remaster but imo people are being harsh. The game definitely looks better than it did in 2012, a lot sharper and more vibrant. They added another difficulty level which it desperately needed, increased item limit from 150 to 300 in your inventory. The previous DLC come with the game. They even fixed the level scaling so when you go back to older areas you find strong enemies and items that scale to your current level. What else do you want from a remaster? the actual game is very good as well, one of the best gameplay/combat system in an RPG and it’s over 50 hours long, making it one of the bigger rpgs out there. If you are still not convinced this is worth a purchase, well.

Nastalgic Return with Added Bonus for those that missed the original

Loved the original. Missed a few dlc before. Great to have it all and play it again. Fun storyline with branching substories and character development options. Also had a unique battle system for players to experiment with.

Fun, but not without its issues…

This game is just as fun as when it was first released and the quality of life upgrades are very welcome, but many of the issues that existed with the original game are still very evident in this one. Still, I would recommend this game to anyone who likes action RPGs, in spite of all its flaws. Rather than type out everything, I’ll try to condense it down to just the bullet points:Pros:- The action is fun, fast paced without being overwhelming.- The story is well written and really sucks you in.Neutral: (Pro OR Con)- The game is rather easy, and it doesn’t take much work to get yourself overleveled for the content you are playing in.Cons:- The game has quite a few bugs and glitches, a couple of which are game breaking. While some of these have been patched out, there are still quite a few that have not yet been touched.- The game’s camera has problems during battles. If you had the previous game and are wondering if this upgrade is worth it, here are the main things that I noticed have been changed:- The level-lock mechanic has been removed. While areas still have a range of levels that they can be set to, they will no longer lock the area’s level the first time you go into them. If you go into an area at level 2, leave and level up, and come back, the area will be at level three now. That means that you are no longer punished for early game exploration, and makes returning to previous areas actually worth it.- The camera is now adjustable. You are no longer stuck to the super close-up camera that the original had.- The graphics were overhauled… they aren’t a giant leap, say from one console generation to the next, but with updated textures, enhanced lighting, and slight upgrades to the models, they don’t look BAD, per se, even for a game on current gen consoles.- Improved loot generation calculations.- There is also a new Very Hard difficulty… or so I’m told. I honestly didn’t pay attention at the time, as I play the game on Normal difficulty due to my abominably bad reflexes.

    Good for casual gamers

We are casual gamers and bought this game while we are waiting on some new games to be released. My husband enjoyed the last two Assassin’s Creed games. He is happy to complete quests, kill the bad guys, and travel around. We don’t have any problems with the game play and have had no glitches playing the game on an older PS4. We bought Avengers, The Last of Us 2, Fallen Order, and Death Stranding but did not finish any of those games. We both played Ghost of Tsushima and enjoyed it – one of my favorite games. This game is just to get us to PS5.

    Great game, Dated graphics.

Its important to know that this is closer to a re-release than a remaster. The character models look really dated but the environments still hold up. If graphics are not a concern then I 100% recommend this game, I played the original so much when it came out and Im having a blast replaying through it.

Loved the original; this verion …not so much

I was thrilled when I heard this was coming out, and ordered it for release day delivery (PS4 version). During the first 6 hours of the game, it had crashed 4 or 5 times. Cool, I can put up with that until it gets patched. Save often.. .However, something happened and now I cannot play for more than a minute or two without the game crashing. I was able to start a new game, but not even half way through the tutorial, yup crashed again. The game is updated, and has not been updated (v1.04) since I started playing it, so I am not sure what is going on, but I am very disappointed that I shelled out $35 for a game that is unplayable at this point. Hopefully a patch will fix it, but until then, I cannot play the game.

    fun but no real improvements

Ok Ill start out that nothing really has been upgraded. Maybe the graphics…a tiny bit. Over all its an rpg where you build your character and your fate. Choose you style rogue, mage or warrior or change on the fly. Your never locked in to one way. So if your not a fan of the original game don’t bother. But i love the game, and always trying to complete all the quest…its crazy huge and fun to play. I guess they are adding another DLC in 2021 so…there is something.
