Incredible game! Truly next gen
Coming from someone who had not played spider man on PS4 and the last spider man I did play was the one back around 2002-2003 on original Xbox, I was skeptical. These super hero games typically aren’t my thing, but being burnt out with AC and skipping Valhalla, I decided to try this out. I have both series x and ps5, and honestly as more of an Xbox fan, this game impressed me so much I haven’t even really touched the series x. Sony studios know how to put out quality games that look and play incredible and not only does this look next gen it is addicting and fun to play. Very impressed and makes owning a PS5 worth it!

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is just as good or even better than it’s predecessor. I love the feel of the resistance of the adaptive triggers with this for webslinging around New York. Load times are fast! The ease of switching from 30fps fidelity mode to 60fps performance is night and day. This has been the first time I’ve played a 60fps game. If you loved Spider-Man PS4, then the Ultimate Edition is worth it for the remaster. Spider-Man Remastered looks incredible with the new ray-tracing features to it.

Be careful of placing disk “upside down” for vertical PS5 owners
Awesome launch title on PS5. Web swinging at 60fps feels awesome and PS5 kills it on performance. Highly recommend. Although, word for caution for disk users, do not place the disk “upside down”. I set my PS5 at its vertical position and I naturally assumed the disk reader would be closer to the middle, not the outer edge of the console. The following picture shows the correct way to insert your disk with the disk label facing on the left side of the console on its vertical stance. As strange as it to insert the disk label facing on the left of the console, if you look at the horizontal stance, it makes sense. Not a major issue but I hope this review helped so others won’t make the same mistake like I did on their PS5

Spectacular start to next gen gaming
…and here we go.Graphics: 5Sound: 4Controls: 5Story: 5————————Overall: 5NOTE: I played the game on the PS5 w/Fidelity mode and 3D audio enabled.GraphicsWOW, the PS5 version of this looks AMAZING. Everything from the sky down to the streets looked great. You can even see the reflection of the world around miles in some of his suits that have reflective surfaces. The facial features of everyone that miles interacts this looks great. I honestly can’t think of a negative thing to say. If this is the start of next gen I really am excited for games released a few years later.SoundSo I tried it both ways with 3D audio and without. Honestly, maybe it is my old ears but I could barely tell a difference. In the end I just left 3D audio enabled. The game sound good but I think the massive amounts of hype that Sony put out for the 3D audio really hurt the review here. They said we would be blown away, I was not. It sounds good don’t get me wrong. I just didn’t feel it was this huge evolution it was hyped to be. Maybe later games will take better advantage but for now it is not a huge leap. NOTE: I used the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless connected directly to the controller. I also reviewed that headset.ControlsGot dang! Miles is ultra responsive. I started wondering was he a direct extension of myself haha. Seriously, the controls feel amazing and allow for some truly spectacular fights. Zipping around, dodging, and fighting feel very fluid. The haptic feedback feels great in this game. Adding more to the sense of being there. The game honestly excels in the control department. Which in this type of game it has to nail perfectly. The only complaint I have is not game related. When pressing L1 + R1 to pull to the next perch spot I would frequently target the wrong one. This is due to me not the game. I preferred stealth take downs so perches were important to me.StoryHonestly, amazing. Several points in the story honestly hit me in the feels pretty hard. Some of the side missions were very predictable. However, that does not bother me. I am not one of those who if it is not Shakespeare it is horrible. I want good action and a good story in my action games. I am not expecting the most in depth thought provoking story ever. This story was amazing and yes parts of it you see coming a mile away but for me that did not bother me. What super surprised me is the post-game story honestly almost made me cry. It was one of the best post game stories I have ever played. NOTE: I have lost a parent so that could be affecting my opinion on the post game story.OverallA great game and fantastic start to next gen gaming. I absolutely believe that this is a must buy game for PS5 owners.

I love this game! This is my first Spider-Man game and I’m addicted! It’s fast paced, fun, and it looks Amazing. It looks like I’m playing the trailer not the real game! Get this!

Wow… What a stunning game so far. I’m playing on a high 4k Samsung T.V. and the game looks great even at 30 frames. This title has a lot of quick time events, and it’s action packed. I was glued to the story and cut scenes. They seamless intertwine with each other. This game “time to beat” is right around 8-10 which is obviously short but given it’s a launch title, it has A LOT to offer. I would expect it to be a candidate for game of the year, and a winner for PS5.I can’t say rather the Ultimate edition is any good as I have never played the Ps4 game, but if its made by Insomniac, then I’m sure it is. We’ll know next month (i think) when it lanches..

This game is gorgeous. Fluid animations, voiceovers are excellent. The game has a few game breaking bugs that had to be avoided to progress, but once those were avoided everything was excellent.

TWO SPIDER-MEN??
I really don’t know much about the lore of Spider-Man that comes from the comics. Just about everything I know is from the movies. Until Into the Spider-Verse, I’d honestly never heard of the character Miles Morales. That movie is a masterpiece and if you haven’t watched it you should, especially if you’re considering playing this game.While it is admittedly short, I still loved every single second I played this game. There are some abilities and other things you can unlock with New Game Plus, and I just started that.Overall, this game is a great display of what the PS5 can do graphically and mechanically. It uses the adaptive triggers on the controller while traversing to give you a different feeling while web swinging. It also does this in the Remastered version of the original game. Graphically, this game is just beautiful. It really is cool how far video games have come when it comes to graphics.I don’t like talking about story much in reviews because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone, but I wanted to comment that I really liked the story, and can’t wait for another sequel.I played the original Spider-Man on PS4 and loved it. When I saw they were doing a “Remaster”, I was skeptical, especially since they changed the face model for Peter. Overall, I was very impressed with the remastered version of the original game. I never played the DLC so I’m glad I was able to do so with this new version. The graphics may not be the best with my specific lower end HDR/4K TV, but I could tell the difference from when I first played it on a non-HDR/4K TV and launch PS4. Overall the Remastered version of this game is very good.

Updated got codes to work, sons really enjoying it.
Son loves the game, but the free code for the suits and stuff only gave him skill points, not gadget or suits. We will try and see if there is somehow to fix this, but kinda defeats the paying extra if code doesn’t work. We still have to try code for the PS4 remastered Spiderman if that doesn’t work will drop to 2 stars based on codes, not game itself.Got it to load suits… we had to completely shutdown game and go back in and it worked. First time after download suits didn’t load, so just a shutdown and back in seemed to rest and he was happy to have the suits even if he likes others more. He played for hours on PS5 and he even had tears of joy. Loves the new controller and graphics.
