    WAS a nice, sturdy keyboard

UPDATE:One day short of two years, and the keyboard decided to die.Tried plugging it into two different computers, and it won’t recognize at all.The number 9/F9 had been giving me problems for a few months. Nothing too bad, just had to push it extra hard or press repeatedly to recognize the stroke. But I didn’t expect it to fail completely all of a sudden.I don’t know too much about electronics, but two years seems really short. I don’t think I’ll buy this same one again.———————————————————————————————————————————————————————–I’ve been using this keyboard for about a week now. I almost love it.I was searching for a mini keyboard that had the full-sized backspace delete button, a CTRL key on the right side, and a not mushy feel. I searched for mini keyboard “with click,” and it led me to the world of gaming keyboards.I’m a court reporter, not a gamer. I put two strips of velcro on the back of this keyboard and attached it right onto my machine (Stentura). It helps me edit during jobs without having to reach forward for my laptop. (Dell Inspiron Windows 8)Here’s my list of cons:1. The function keys are combined with the number keys. The extra keystroke of hitting the FN key is pretty inconvenient. There is no FN lock button (at least I haven’t been able to find it).2. The Page Up/Home and Page Down/End buttons are combined. I don’t know if my keyboard is defective, but I cannot get the Home and End to work. No matter how I hit those buttons (Ctrl+, Shift+, both Ctrl and Shift +, Fn+) all it does is page up and page down. Ctrl+Home will not take me to the top of the document.3. Keyboard clicks are a little loud, but I don’t really care toooo much about that.I do like the sturdy feel of this keyboard, and I also like the spacing of the keys. It’s not cramped.I also have a superold Lenovo T61 with XP, and it recognized the keyboard with no problems.

Great layout, great price, even greater deal!

I can just reiterate what everyone else has said so far. I’ve owned a few other mechanical keyboards, and this has been the best by far. All of my switches have felt super consistent, unlike other boards I have had. I don’t personally love black switches, but I didn’t know that going in and that’s of no fault to the board, and overall the switches feel like good quality. I paid just a little less for a simple switch tester though, so it’s really hard to complain. The 65% layout is great – I rely on arrow keys way too much but have always loved the look and simplicity of 60% keyboards. It’s been tricky getting used to the left arrow being tucked under the shift key, as I have been using a TKL for awhile now, but that’s mostly only an issue in a rare circumstance where I am using shift and left arrow at the same time. This board is really solid. It’s hard to believe how affordable it is, yet it doesn’t feel like garbage. You can’t find any other compact mech for this price, and if you did it would most likely look like a hot mess. The floating keys look great. I can’t comment on the included keycaps because I removed them right away, but that is something most of us are going to do anyway. Admittedly, I occasionally have to pull up an image of the board to remember what the Fn shortcuts are. The detachable cable is a nice touch as well. The magicforce branding is subtle and not obnoxious at all. I was deciding between this or spending a lot more on the Varmilo VA68m, and while I am sure that is a great keyboard I am more than happy with this board, and saving well over $100. I may eventually get another magicforce with browns or clears, as there really isn’t anything I feel like this board is missing. I don’t need rgb lights, and so far I haven’t missed any of the keys this board doesn’t have. Can’t recommend it enough.

and am very satisfied with my purchase

I bought this as my first mechanical keyboard, and am very satisfied with my purchase. The Outemu blue switches are very nice. I’ve since purchased another keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches, and personally, I think I enjoy the Outemu switches more than the Cherry MX, but they are very close. My only complaint would be that the keycaps are a bit thin and flimsy, and the legends are pretty terrible as well. I would have liked to see the secondary functions for the keys printed on the front side rather than crowded together on the top of the caps. I plan on replacing the caps anyway, and considering the price, I do not feel it warrants docking a star from my review.I do wish they had placed the logo somewhere less visible, but I rarely notice it anymore.I use this with my Surface Pro 3 at work, and the size is perfect for when I want to bring it home with me.

Very good keyboard. I kind of wish the cable was …

Very good keyboard. I kind of wish the cable was maybe a foot longer but luckily it is detachable and uses a standard connector (Mini-USB) so if you wanted to swap it out for something longer, you could. One of my primary worries with this keyboard came from the switches. They’re Outemu, a knockoff of Cherry but they do have the same mounts, so keycaps meant for Cherry MX keyboards will work on this one. I bit the bullet for the price and was happy in the end. I have a Cherry MX Blue keyboard that is broken and when comparing the two switches, there’s not much of a difference. Outemu switches seem a bit more firm at the start and louder but they’re not any worse just different. The layout is a bit different, too. It’s smaller than a tenkeyless but bigger than a 60%, and has some of the common keys (Home, End, Print Screen, and the entire F1-F12 row) on layers. At first it was a little weird to get used to but you will go autopilot after playing with the keyboard for awhile. The keycaps seem to be laser etched ABS, so the legends wont wear out but the feel of them will. Your keys may end up being smooth after a long time. But if that’s an issue, you can find Doubleshot PBT keycaps here on Amazon (search Vortex Doubleshot PBT) that can replace your keys fine. Just know, that you will have to know what’s on the layers and you will have extra keycaps. If you cannot remember what key Print Screen is on, you may have to refer to your manual. All in all, I’m very happy with this keyboard for the price. It’s a compact and decently built keyboard. I would recommend it.

    Surprisingly great keyboard!

This is (surprisingly) an amazing keyboard. I wasn’t expecting to like the Outemu blue switches since I’ve only ever used Cherry MX blues until this, but I actually think I like the Outemu switches better. The resistance on the Outemu switches is 60 cN, and on Cherry MX blue switches the resistance is 50 cN. This increase in resistance is instantly noticeable, leading to a much more “purposeful” typing experience. I write software for a living and typing on this for 8-10 hours a day has been great. My only recommendation would be to buy some thick PBT keycaps to put on the keyboard rather than the stock keycaps that it comes with. The stock keycaps are okay, but they’re pretty thin and cause the keyboard to have a much more treble-y and metallic sound. With some thicker keycaps, you get a much more bearable sound from typing (and my coworkers noticed when I swapped the keycaps too, they hated listening to the stock ones).I considered taking one star off for the sort of cheap feeling/sounding keycaps, but honestly for $40 this is an amazing keyboard. I own a few mechanical keyboards with cherry switches, most costing around $100 or so, and this $40 might end up being my new favorite.

    Great Mechanical Keyboard!

Honestly, this thing is way better that my other $150+ mechanical keyboard (DasKeyboard). I have been using for a few weeks now and absolutely no issues so far. I highly recommend dampeners for this keyboard as the the kaps tend to hit the keyboard frame! I can’t think of anything negative to say about the keyboard, really like it overall. The switches are not Cherry MX, but honestly, you can’t even tell the difference, they feel and sound the same to me.Tested on Linux Distro (Ubuntu) and MacOS and works perfectly.

Feels nice, great price, wears out fast and no support.

I loved this keyboard. It’s an amazing price, It feels good and works right out the box.Unfortunately after less than a year random keys have stopped registering full time. They do sometimes, then suddenly they’ll skip.I contacted Qisan support and unfortunately they didn’t quite understand. They offered me new keycaps, however that isn’t the problem as I have tested with a few different sets. After doing their troubleshooting and letting them know it wasn’t the keycaps they stopped replying and I haven’t heard back in a while. It’s unfortunate such a slick keyboard is held back in this way. Will update if I hear back from support.

Fantastic Value, Great Mechanical Keyboard with BLACK SWITCHES

NOTE: The descriptions for all the different types of these keyboards is quite subtle. There are gold base and silver base versions, but most importantly, please clearly read the item title as it will tell you if it’s black or blue switches.Basically all I have to say is that for just under $40.00 shipped, with no taxes, I don’t see how this could be a better purchase for a solidly built, very responsive and all around pretty perfect little 60% mech with MX Black knockoffs. If you are a connoisseur of mechs, geekhack, /r/mk, ok this is a Chinese knockoff with OUTEMU Blacks, it’s not the holy grail bar far, yes, this is true. However, what this is is one of the best mechs for someone who is just getting into the hobby, or someone who wants to try out how a compact 60% mech feels, without having to spend a huge amount of money as an investment. Heck, it’s even a great buy for a hobbyist that wants to have a spare board to test switches, keycaps, or other modifications on. Going on a road trip somewhere rugged? Maybe travelling to a third world country for business or pleasure? Don’t take your expensive Ducky or Poker, take this beast instead.Super heavy and deliberate cherry mx black switch feels. Personally for me these OUTEMU (I believe that’s what they are – please correct me if I’m wrong) switches are just as solid and a bit stiffer than the Cherry MX Blacks, and I just love how deliberate and satisfying each keystroke is. I’ve got a fey keycaps and sets laying around that I can slap on this board, and I’m not going to cry when it eventually breaks down. Are the keycaps the most clearly printed? No. One reviewer stated that the F1 – F12 keys look like they are the primary function instead of the numerical digits. This is true as well, but for me these keycaps are coming off within a matter of days.Overall been using this keyboard as my primary for roughly 4 days, including hours of gaming, and definitely a lot of typing for work. I have to say I’m beyond impressed for the value, and I can find absolutely NO REASON to give this keyboard anything below 5 stars. Metal base/case construction, solid switches…..don’t hesitate, just buy. Already purchased a Blue Switch version arriving tomorrow. I can see the price increasing soon with the MassDrop huge response and now the appearance on Amazon (some sponsored as well).

    For the price point….

I must say this is as good as the other one I own which cost well over a hundred dollars! Suggesting if you are looking for a keyboard this should be at the top of your list.

Don’t get this if you don’t want text to disappear. Wears out fast.

UPDATE: The R key is broken now, just from typing daily. It triggers twice, once on press and then again on release. Helpful for rolling Rs! The keys sit up so high, and without any borders to even THINK of resting the edges of your hands on, you WILL hit the control key and some combination of other letters.I literally just finished typing a HUGE passage of text and before I could even thing to save it as a draft I somehow managed to slip my hand over the freaking control key, and the next thing i typed erased the entire page.It sits off the table surface. You’re hands are going to fall down a little. Why put a control key where your hand naturally falls to?I was planning on giving this thing a beaming review, but the placement of the control keys has pissed me off so much, I’m giving it one star.
