    Dead on arrival

Controller arrived DOA. The cord or the controller port is the problem. The power goes on and off when the cord is moved. I want to give this controller another chance so I am getting a replacement. Will be updating review.Edit: I received a replacement but this one has different issues! The paddles in the back are so loose that they fall out if I don’t hold them in! Quality control is atrocious. I am returning this controller for good and ordering the Xbox elite V2 controller.

Make the calibration process clearer 🙂

When I first got this controller, I did the firmware upgrade because I heard of mic and headset issues. But during this process it asks you to calibrate your controller. I saw on screen that I was supposed to rotate the thumbsticks, but I totally missed the fine print telling me to also press in both triggers. At first, I thought the sensors were broken on the controller, as the triggers had to be press hard to even register. But I had the idea to try the firmware update again to see if it fixes the problem. This time I DID notice the fine print about the triggers and now the controller is working perfectly.Power A need to make this clearer in their software, or they are going to get some needless returns and bad reviews because of this 🙂 It is an amazing controller for the price, feeling weighty and well made. I am very happy with it now that I worked out my firmware problem!!

No Drift! Better components than Standard MS Controllers!

PROS: Great buttons, well made, easy to switch analog sticks, change trigger sensitivity… looks and feels comfortable and solid, (wired) input with zero button press delay. Cool case! Purchased because of breaking(causing drift on) at least 10-15 standard MiCroSoft XBOX controllers in my 2 years of playing One S. I only play FIFA 20, and am somewhat competitive online. This stick’s durability(internal components) is great, played daily for 2-3 months so far with no drift issues whatsoever! Last pro is the cost. Other premium options are as much as twice the price, so the cost for a premium/eSports level controller is awesome!CONS: (Playing FIFA 20, about 15-20 hrs/week) both the thumb stick (left-used for movement) and the ring that slots into the faceplate, that surrounds that thumb stick, have worn out in the 2-3 months that I’ve been using the controller. Both pieces are replaceable/exchangable, but I wish the plastic was tougher on them. The stick is worn through in a circle from where it comes into contact with the ring that surrounds it(thumb stick bumper?) and the ring itself is worn down in a few spots, so much that the stick almost gets hung up on it. Con number two is just an observation, doesn’t affect me: the trigger housing is not very durable, and it’s easy to damage the Hinge-spot where the Trigger pieces meet the housing.Overall a great controller, much better than the standard MS XBOX one controllers, and much more durable. Used to get analog drift after about 2-3 weeks of playing with my (countless) MS standard controllers, but 3 months on this controller is still without any hint of drift. Definitely worth it if you find the standard XBOX controllers get stick drift too quickly.

    Great Controller. HORRIBLE HEADPHONE JACK!!!?

I thought this controller was the best. It certainly feels like the best. And everything about it is amazing. EXCEPT for the fact that my headphone port just broke off from the inside of my controller coincidentally right after my warranty ended I’m really bummed about this it is a really good controller. I wish I knew how to fix this. Most of all I wish they used better parts so things like this don’t happen. I really wanted to give this controller a 5 Star review but not being able to use a headset is a big “NO” for FPS games.

Ok controller if you dont use a mic on your headset

After getting the controller and plugging it up i started playing with it. I honestly like the controller performance wise. Buttons are easy to map, trigger stops work good. Back paddles are ok, however one is looser than the others so if you hold the controller with them facing down the loose paddle flops down and has farther to travel when pushed causing a bad delay. And the number one reason for the 2 stars is that i use a headset with mic, the sound played into the headset fine. But to my disappointment when i tried talking to my teammates no sound was made through the mic. I tried 2 other headsets of mine and still nobody can hear me talk. Got my old controller and tried all 3 headsets and everybody can hear me loud and clear. So i researched online, hundreds of people are having this problem with this controller. A firmware update was on the support section at the powera site. Downloaded to desktop, connected controller and updated it. Tried the controller again and still nobody can hear me on any of my headsets.

Excellent low-cost alternative to the Elite controller

I went into this purchase planning on being underwhelmed, but I was pleasantly surprised instead. I picked up this controller because the Elite series 2 didn’t make it out for the new Call of Duty and the Scuf controllers didn’t feel comfortable to me (I am missing a finger, so I have range of motion issues when it comes to the paddles). Long story short: the PowerA fit my physical needs as well as the Elite and I prefer corded controllers in multiplayer (less lag) so I gave this a try, knowing that I could send it back if it was trash. The build quality is at least as good as the first party controllers for the xbox (which isn’t saying much) and the soft-touch faceplate and rubber grips are comfortable for long gaming sessions. Personally, I like this controller much more than the plastic of the standard Xbone controller, but I haven’t owned the Fusion long enough to truly evaluate the overall build quality. The magnetic faceplate is easy to remove and stick swaps take less than 30 seconds, which is fine since I don’t change stick configs very often. The controller comes with one domed stick and a longer version of the stock sticks and I haven’t experienced any stick-drift through about 20 swaps. The three-way trigger stops allow for a short pull and quicker non-automatic fire rate in shooters, and they are smoothly integrated into the design of the controller making them difficult to accidentally adjust them during a game. The paddles are sensitive but you get used to them in about 4 hours of gaming. They can be removed entirely or individually, and buttons can be assigned to the paddles on the fly giving you customization options specific to your needs.Overall, I love this controller and I am happy to have most of the functionality of the Elite for about $100 less. PowerA made a great product and I would recommend this for anyone looking at buying an Elite controller – not just bargain-hunters.

one of the joysticks broke when moving up

the controller was doing fine until the left joystick that controls movement, started acting up. when pushing the joystick up, the movement stutters and is not a continuous movement anymore. i tried taking the cover off and cleaning and switching up with other knobs that come with it and still the problem is still there. and i cant even contact them to get it fixed. so beware!!

    Rock Solid

Needed a replacement for the Xbox One Elite Controller after the Xbox Accessories app bricked it. Took a chance on the Fusion by PowerA and so far Dark Souls 3 plays like a dream.Cons:- Not wireless. Comes with a substantial cord but still requires a wired connection.- Not *quite* as customizable as the Elite controller. For example, with Dark Sous 3 on the elite controller, I had my left bumber and trigger swapped so the bumper was the trigger and visa versa. Only the paddles can host remapped buttons on the Fusion.- No ability to hold different profiles for different games with different button configurations.- really wish the buttons on the face of the controller could light up in the dark even slightly.Pros:- Feels just as well made as the Elite Controller if not a bit heftier.- Remapping buttons to the paddles is incredibly easy to do and can be done in-game on the fly.- The analogue sticks are swappable between taller, shorter versions with round or flat tops.- Audio jack built into the controller.- Paddles feel *almost* as good as the elite controllers did. After about 30 min of gameplay I didn’t notice a difference.- Buttons, triggers and bumpers on the controller feel excellent and I button mash with confidence.- the micro USB cord that connects the controller to the PC or xbox has a locking mechanism to prevent it from gradually ruining the port on the controller like the one did on the Elite Controller. Conclusion: Considering the price tag of the elite controller and the plethora of stories that exist now of it being bricked by the xbox accessories app, the Fusion is a perfect alternative if not a stand alone competitor to the Elite Controller. It is cheaper, handles just as well and my Dark Souls 3 playthrough has been an absolute ragefull blast.

The God Controller. All you will Ever want or need.

The controller to end all controllers. I have gone through FIVE Microsoft poop elites which are Literally designed to break at the drop of a hat and I had had Enough. But being a corporate shill, I ALMOST found myself preparing to Waste 200$ on the series 2 in the hope they corrected their mistakes. Although the price Alone was Big Mistake number one.The BIGGEST flaw in the Microsoft controller is it’s Cheap design. For Steel paddles and sticks it is in fact NOT Sturdy at all. And WILL Break on contact with the floor if you accidentally drop it just Once. Mainly, the absolutely Vital CHARGING PORT. They Still to this Day Refuse to Upgrade their port for the controllers charging cable to snuggly go IN. Rather it is Exposed and defenseless at All times just Waiting to get BENT. And if you think you can just buy another cable guess again. Because if even slightly damaged the port will No longer work. Rending the Xbox elite UNchargable and useless unless you stick to batteries via a independent recharging kit. Extra money for extra gear that was otherwise totally unnecessary. With the elite 2. That MAJOR Flaw has been replaced with a straight forward controller death sentence. Given it now runs on its own Built in ion battery meaning it CANNOT be swapped out. Hence. When the charging port continues to snap it’s charging cable. . . It is OVER.ALAS. Power A Should be the answer to All of your prayers including Mine especially. WIRED Superiority iS and always will BE. The ONLY Way to go. Zero response time latency used you can ONLY get with a wireless controller. A Heavy duty Hefty and BEAUTIFUL Frame that is extremely smooth and satisfying to touch. And most IMPORTANTLY. A Safety net “turtle neck” port to securely protect it’s charging cable from ANY Mishaps. God I LOVE this TRUE ELITE CONTROLLER. ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS. AND YOU ALL NEED TO BUY ONE AND OPT OUT OF MICROSOFTS OVERPRICED ELITE WANNABE PRODUCT. Power A is the True Elite and vastly Superior in design by Default.I only regret that I did not search a Little Further out of my immediate impulse buy when I saw this magnificent creation on Amazon to discover only After my one click buy. That it came in MORE sexy colors. And I Really want that white and copper. And so I shall have it.For I love this Elite SO much that I am going to buy a 2nd one and have literally TWO Elites for the price of ONE of micros flimsy abominations.Truly. Buying this product is a no brainier for any True elite gamer such as myself. For you would have much of a brain to pay DOUBLE for an inferior product.Power A 1Microsoft 0GET THIS.*Even the the paddles are perfected in comparison to the inferior series 2. Make no mistake. They look Similar in design but they are NOT the same. Power pros elite paddles canNOT be accidentally pushed. They are Far more, perhaps I could say, “stiffer” and rugged compared to Xbox’s. Which is TOO sensitive to even Look at without triggering a random button by mistake which has costed me lives far too many times.I Appreciate that powers pads require a firm push to set off actions. Not Too firm. But Just Right.

Lucky if you can find ONE that will work when it arrives or stays working!

I have 2 boys. I purchased 2 w/in a few days apart. The 1st one arrived w/o working at all… bk it went to Amazon for a replacement. The 2nd one arrived fine & works so far fingers crossed. The replacement remote from the 1st purchased stopped working after 2wks. So submited another replacement to Amazon. I got an email stating that a refund would be sent once i sent my broken one bk VS replacing & I could reorder a new one. Now what sense does that make???? Replacement VS buying a new one is the same thing.Obviously w/this release, there are some bummer one out there arriving & not lasting long according to the reviews. We now have an new one & we will see how long this one lasts. For the cost of this thing, you would think it would work when it arrived or would last longer than 2 wks!!!!!!MFG needs to get it together when these are manufactured!

    Would not recommend

I’ve gone through multiple powerA controllers. I decided to go with the Fusion Pro as the PowerA Enhanced one broke after 2 months of use and the other Enhanced one I purchased has a faulty mic input. So I order the fusion pro thinking this one was probably made with more quality. Boy was I wrong, the analog sensors were faulty or defective as I could not go through the Xbox menu as it would constantly move from one selection to another. When I finally got into a game on COD the character would spin in a 360 degree motion and start facing the ceiling. On top of that the left trigger would not work when using the left trigger lock. I am not sure if this is due to the pandemic that these controllers I’ve received have turned out so poorly but I would not recommend this product, unless you want to take the chance that you’ll get lucky with a good one that will last.

If you or the person you’re getting it for plays alot, do not waste your money on PowerA brand.

Had it for a couple of months and drag on the left analog stick ( like I’m hitting an invisible wall while characters are suppose to walk normal, but they stop constantly during walking). Previously bought a cheaper controller from this same brand before this ( 20 dollars wired black mat soft front finnish) I had drag problems from that one with the opposite effect (characters going forward without pushing the analog stick; e.g. Overwatch character selection constant moving over character portraits; hard to pick)I play everyday and wear and tear is inevitable, but for drag to appear in a couple of months especially when I payed more for this controller is ridiculous. I do not get mad and throw my controller, never dropped it, and I am female and I have small hands and I’m not that strong to be messing up the left analog stick like this.I liked everything about this controller except for the drag which is why I payed more money for this one. I believe the decorative rings you put in (green and silver ones) are creating the drag this time. I no longer trust this brand to have the controller that I need and want:Black, wired, no lights, soft grip with extra triggers that allow mapping & this controller aint it.

    Bad unit, poor customer support

So, this controller worked flawlessly for probably a week, and it was great. Very aesthetic design, tactile button press, the button mapping was a breeze and the matte finish is great. But, that doesn’t matter at all if it doesn’t connect to the Xbox. I tried every USB port and every now and again I can get it to connect, but only momentarily and even when it does, the headphone jack is busted and doesn’t work so I can’t use a headset and talk to friends. I went through every precaution to make sure it’s not user error. The cable is connected properly from controller to Xbox, and the quick disconnect is connected properly as well. I tested another wired controller which connected flawlessly to each USB port on the Xbox and it’s headphone jack worked perfectly with both of my headsets. I even used the PowerA cable with my other controller to ensure I hadn’t messed anything up on my part, sure enough the other controller works, the PowerA one doesn’t. I contacted PowerA customer support to see if I can get a refund or a replacement, and haven’t heard back at all. I understand there’s going to be bad units from time to time so I wasn’t sweating it. Probably an honest mistake. But when you fail to make things right with the customer, that’s where you lose me.

If your trying to upgrade, start here!

I have been looking to upgrade my controller for a month or so now cause I was looking for that WZ edge (obviously it’s the controllers fault) but the only ones I have found are $100+ or closer to $200. And I was not going to spend that much on a controller. I thought the price point was great and worth it! I love the travel case it comes with as well because it makes me feel fancy. When it arrived I replaced the right thumb stick with the longer thumb stick and added the paddles immediately. So far so good. It feels comfortable in the hand and the paddles feel natural to press. My 1 complaint that I have (which has only cost me once and my mistake originally) was that I had the controller on the desk and picked it up when game was starting and accidentally pushed up one paddle and it fell out of its place extremely quickly. It’s one thing for it to drop down out of the correct spot. But it comes out of the entire holder a little too easily for my liking.Other then that complaint I really have nothing else. I love being able to configure on the fly so far because I am trying to test different layouts to see what feels best. And having to plug it into a PC or use another software to update it between games (sometimes during games) would be a real pain. Overall if your looking to step your controller game up without breaking the budget, this is the way to go 100%

    Great Controller

This controller feels bulkier than a normal Xbox One controller but it has rear handle grips and feels good in the hands. The 4 paddles are great to use in a game like Blackout and they are very easy to program. You can also remove the paddles individually if you need to. Thumb sticks are easy to swap out as you just pull off the magnetic face plate, pop out the old thumb stick and pop the new one in. The cable doesn’t bother me and you can also use your own micro USB cable if you need a shorter/longer one.I had a controller mic port issue where people in party chat couldn’t hear me loud enough. There’s a firmware update you download from the manufacture’s website that will fix it. I had to return a controller and get a replacement because the first one wouldn’t work even with the update but my second one works fine. After having stiff joystick problems with the Elite Series 2 I’m glad I found something just as good half the price. The only thing I like about the Elite 2 better is that it had a very very short trigger stop.

    Beware – Dead On Arrival

I ordered this controller after using the original Fusion about two years ago. That controller worked well, until it was done being abused. Controllers last me on average 9 months, Xbox or third party. This controller was received DOA.I knew it needed a firmware update and did that before going any further. Completed the calibration and plugged it in and fired up Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Set the rear paddles to x (reload), and d-pad up (drone). Good there. Then I pulled the left trigger to aim-down-sight and watched the animation go halfway before returning to over-the-shoulder, and when I released the left trigger the animation started and stopped again. After moving the trigger selector to the shorter positions I had the same issue and could not get a stable response. Now the right trigger. I fired a round on semi-auto when pulled and released, for two rounds when only one should have fired. I changed trigger position for the right trigger again and then fired three semi-auto shots with one pull and release, it should have only been one.I can’t tell you what to do, but if you were my friend I would do my best to talk you out of this product. It might end our relationship if you still bought it, LOL!

Second Edit: Definitely Never buy it 08/10/2020 Go to Day 229

Day 1: I’ll be completely honest, I was disappointed that I can’t program my own buttons. I.E the paddles don’t act as an extra set of buttons. This is true the Xbox Elite controllers as well along with the Pro Switch Controller so here we are.Moving pass that plug and play on Xbox One is super easy. Plugged it in, didn’t even calibrate it and it seemed golden honestly. One issue I ran into was halfway through an online game session my headset went to half power. I’m streaming and none of my settings were changed, but a lot people were having Party chat issues so we’ll see if the audio issue can be addressed. The build is AMAZING. The weight, the feel, the clicks on the paddles are all great. I wish we had swappable d-pads but its okay. It just feels stiff compared to the regular d-pad on a controller. I think I wanted more of a clicky feel.Side note: I only recieved one convex joystick replacement so sad about that. There are two in the box, but they aren’t a pair(they don’t match each other). Carrying Case is great though, it’s a semi hard shell, it still has some flex on the outside.Day 2: Time for the PC play. First off I run Windows 7, I use a lot of software that doesn’t run 100% right on Windows 10 so here we are. Also According to the PowerA website it doesn’t work on Windows 7. Well we’re here to debunk that real quick:Step 1: Install standard Xbone Controller driver with the controller plugged inStep 2: Uninstall the xbox one driver from the “device manager”Step 3: Download the Windows 10 driver from the PowerA support pageStep 4: Change the properties to run as administrator and to run in compatibility modeStep 5: Run the program, wait until the software reads a controller is connected and then click update, follow the calibration guides and enjoy.Actual PC Use: Any FPS game this destroys other players and evens a playing field if you’re not used to KBM and are coming from Console. It also helps with bouncing back and forth between console/PC no more grinding to remember keybindings for different platforms.Any single shot weapon has at least a 50% speed increase if set to the paddles, the travel distance is less ect…Just buy it, the wired part is a downer, but the other option of a ~$200 wireless controller that breaks, just isn’t worth it. The disconnect happens fairly easy for the accidental trip, the clips on the controller on the other hand are hard to push in, in order to remove the cord for storage.Day 210: Not looking good at around day 160 one of the paddles started to go out. The controller comes with a 2 year warranty so no big deal right? Well I was told it would be 3 weeks due to COVID-19 before paddles could be shipped to me. Which is fine. However we’re at week 5 and the paddles haven’t shippedFurther more today all 4 paddles stopped working…… on top of that the LED in the controller has burn out. On the PowerA website this is listed as a common question and their answer for this is: In order to fix that you have to replace the controller. They may be selling refurbished controllers at this point I’m not sure.Overall I have changed my review from extremely positive to negative. Poor customer support (it could be a shipping issue, but they haven’t contacted me at all) and poor engineering. I should have gone with another controller that has support.Day 229: After my last review I re-submitted a second claim for my controller and eventually received an update. The reason for not having my paddles delivered at this time is due to COVID-19, while I’m understanding about this , it’s to the point of selling the controller to someone else going with a different company. Also upon using the controller on Xbox One with my new headset the audio cuts out like every 10-20 seconds. This headset works fine on PC, Cellular, ect…. to further this I have had several pairs of ear buds not work with the headset and some that have high screeching (these problems aren’t existent when the headphones are used on other devices). If you search for the issue you find a lot of reddit posts about the serial numbers. I haven’t checked mine, but supposedly there is a bad batch number that WILL have audio issues and a different batch number that will not have issues. At this point I have given up on getting my paddles and am looking for a different controller.

    Solid controller but loose paddles

The controller itself is high quality and sturdy feeling. Slightly heavier than normal controllers. The paddles add a little bit of bulk to it but that’s to be expected. The only problem I have with it are the paddles feel loose and wobbly. From what I understand this is a problem with all paddles that use the removable magnetic design including the xbox elite controllers. A simple fix is to just tightly place a piece of tape over where the paddles connect and they will be firm.Overall it’s a good controller and I will use it for the time being but in the future I will be looking at controllers with non removable back paddles/buttons.

    Love this controller!!!!!

Wow, I’m so glad I did NOT pay for the Elite, and I love Microsoft. I’m almost 50 and wasn’t doing as well as I used to in games like CoD Modern Warfare. With just the trigger locks alone I started getting first place withing teo days of getting used to it. Then I started using the back buttons for games like Witcher 3, Destiny 2, and Red Dead Redemption 2 and it proved itself even more useful. Here’s a tip: The 3 setting switch for the hair triggers is extremely important. For CoD I can use full hair trigger, yet my dual pistols misfire in RD2, so I go to the middle setting and they fire perfectly and MUCH faster, as a hair trigger. – Update 3/11/2020 – It works wonderfully with Windows 10 on my Microsoft Surface Laptop(plugged into Powered USB Adapter I also bought on Amazon). I have been using it all day for all types of games, MMO, RPG, MMORPG, RTS, & FPS. I can use ot directly with Windows or via Streaming from my Xbox One X to my Surface Laptop. This controller is amazing.

    Amazing Controller! Mappable buttons ftw!

Amazing, can’t complain, I’m so happy having mappable buttons, I’ve used the afterglow wheel controller and thought that was the best cheap option but with this being half the price of an Elite Controller this is an absolutely incredible buy, pay half and get a wired, comfortable controller with additional parts for customization as well as easy to change mappable buttons that can be remapped on the fly, trigger locks making firing and targeting super easy and fast. Love the case it came in, it’s just an amazing buy for the price! Great for Battle Royales to puzzle games! Had to update firmware through their website but Microsoft messaged me to inform me and it was a super easy process completed in 10-15 minutes by following the simple steps they provided, not sure what it fixed to be honest though..
