It took longer to get a replacement than the actual keyboard lasted….

Pros: Super easy to use and setup. Works great for games and basically anything that you might find a wireless setup useful for. Overall I really liked it once I started using it.Cons: Range is abysmal. You lose connection with the USB dongle and start missing inputs once you exceed maybe 10 feet from the dongle.Oh and it completely died on me after 6 months of light use. Not exactly an impressive lifespan for a $200 keyboard. Save your money, this thing isn’t impressive in its lifespan.Update: Following up so people know what they’re getting into if they decide to buy one of these. I submitted a ticket with Razer which was answered after about three weeks. Understandable due to COVID19 but still a long time. Eventually, they helped me troubleshoot it over the course of a week and sure enough, it was dead. This is where the problems really began.Eventually they said they would send me a replacement. I live on an island (PR) at which point they said “whoops, we can’t ship it there, do you have a friends address in the states?”. I gave them a family address at which point they sent me a FedEx GROUND shipping label to return it. The labels expire after 9 days. I just told them that I lived on an island. Now somehow, I was able to get the keyboard shipped to me originally but suddenly they can’t? Furthermore, why are you sending me a GROUND label when I live on an island? I have followed up with support multiple times over the last week and a half and not received a response. They won’t send me a replacement to the family address until they receive the broken one which, at the moment, I would have to pay to return myself. Thankfully, I am travelling to the mainland soon for a short time and I could have sent it via ground if they sent me a renewed label which they have not.BLUF: The device is typical of razer products in that it is low quality and has a very short lifespan. Additionally, you’re going to get basically nothing in the form of customer support if it goes bad. Granted, I live in a unique situation compared to most people but it goes to show you where their head is at with respect to their customers. I won’t be purchasing anymore razer products after this experience.Update to the update: It’s been another month since I wrote the last update. Guess what, I STILL HAVEN’T RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT. But wait, there’s more! On July 22nd I initiated a chat with a customer support rep who was very helpful. She told me that my label was actually good until the 27th of July. Fortunately for me I was flying to the mainland on the 23rd so everything would work out! I flew home, brought the device with the label to a FedEx station and it was received on the 24th and shipped on the 27th. VICTORY!WRONG. Not so fast says razer. Little did I know that on the 24th, they closed my case due to inactivity. Keep in mind, this is the company that could ship me a product to an island but couldn’t take it back. Wouldn’t respond to my requests for help because of the unique circumstance. Told me that I had until the 27th but closed my case on the 24th. Then, they actually sent me an e-mail on July 31st saying “we’ve received your product, you should expect a replacement to be sent out within 3 business days” and here we are on AUGUST 22nd and I haven’t received so much as a digital middle finger from them since, just stone silence. I totally understand that COVID has made things mildly more challenging but not to this degree. People are still working despite COVID. I’m still working despite COVID. I see grandmas braving the grocery store every day despite COVID. These people can’t even keep track of an RMA.Oh and just as a reminder, the keyboard only lasted a few months before it died so don’t forget that. I imagine you would get better customer support in Mogadishu. -10 stars if Amazon would allow. They should at least allow for zero stars because this has been terrible. Hands down the worst customer support experience I’ve ever had with a company. I’ll be buying Corsair and Kingston products from here on out.

While expensive, it’s easily my favorite lapboard

Purchased this to use with my PC when I connect it to the living room TV with a super long HDMI cable. It works amazingly for that. I already had Synapse installed from my desk mouse and keyboard so it was nice and easy to copy over my Chroma profile as well. The hefty board feels great in my lap and with the mouse tray extended, it still feels sturdy and the slightly magnetic hold on the mouse feels really good. All around it feels very high end. The Razer Green switches can be a bit loud and annoying in scenarios so I really wish there was a Yellow or Orange Switch option and for me personally, a wireless Razer Trinity would have been cooler for mouse choice but those are subjective opinions. Using on the Xbox is pretty much what you would expect. Games that support them feel like PC games and the Razer software gives all the options you might want except for custom Chroma profiles so it’ll just load or let you chose from any of the default options. It does also work on the PS4 as I tested it with FFXIV.

Beautiful keyboard+mouse with one easily-solved gotcha

It’s a mesmerizing, beautiful keyboard and the magnetic mousepad makes using the included gaming mouse very ergonomic from a couch. One thing to note is the tiny wireless USB stick you plug into the Xbox or PC is *very* directional: make sure it’s facing you, or the signal will get choppy and it’ll drop keypresses, mouse movements and clicks. Was very frustrated when I first plugged it into a sideways-facing USB port on a PC across the living room, until I tried plugging it into a forward-facing USB hub, at which point it started working perfectly.Great purchase, very happy with it. Decided to leave a review so that other buyers know about the directionality, because for me that took it from a zero-star rating to a five. Hard to imagine using anything else for mouse-heavy PC gaming on the couch; the magnetic mouse is just that good, and as a side benefit the mechanical keys feel great.

Just Didn’t Work as it Should

Was very excited about this keyboard, build is solid, functionality is all there, well thought out and seemed like a great product. Was very disappointed to spend the last 2 months working with Razer support to make the keyboard functional. We were trying to install firmware using the Razer tool to fix a light flickering and connectivity issue. After many attempts we were not able to fix this issue. There is one thing I learned a few years ago when it comes to RGB or any keyboard with custom functionality, it all comes down to the firmware/software. Two keyboard with the same solid build quality can differ wildly in customer satisfaction based on the quality of their keyboard software. This is what drove me from Tesoro to Logitech and what will drive me from Razer to TBD replacement.Sad to write this but wanted to warn people. If Razer commits to fixing this issue, I’ll consider trying again, but for now all we have here is a dud.

I love Razer but I’m a bit disappointed

I originally purchased this for my Xbox One – without doing any research. I have used Razer products in the past when I was a PC gamer and have mostly been very happy with their products. I bricked a mouse once when doing a BIOS update, but it was a long time ago. Unfortunately I didn’t realize at the time the games I currently play on Xbox don’t support Keyboard/Mouse. My bad.I really liked the feel and weight of the keyboard. It is very well constructed and with the slide-out mouse pad with magnetic section to hold the mouse in place, it was perfect for using with my work and home PC. So I decided to keep it.I don’t have Admin rights on my work laptop to load drivers and software, but it seemed to work fine without them. Until I realized I could not copy/paste. The control key did not work.I used it on my home PC but had issues logging in. One of the keys would only work every 3 seconds – it would not work on the second strike. Since I had a repeating character in my password (with shift) I kept failing to login until I realized this. I performed a reset on the keyboard but it didn’t fix it. Installing the drivers/software didn’t work either. And man – being able to sync with my Hue lights had me excided!I ended up sending it back to Amazon for a refund. I’m not going to spend a premium price on a product and have it not work the first time. Had it worked out on my Xbox I probably would have never found out it was defective and just thought it was something I was doing. I have to say I’m a little disappointed. Why two stars you ask? I do like Razer products and –may- try this product again once I start playing Xbox games that support keyboard/mouse. And dang – Hue support… that’s just awesome. I would almost just give it three for that.

    Amazing Keyboard!!

This is one of the best keyboard and mouse setup I’ve bought. The keys are nice and clicky with the Razer Green switches. The only problem I have with it is the price is a little steep. But overall this keyboard and mouse is amazing had it for around a week and it works perfect. It’s good to sit back in my recliner and game with it instead of having to be at a desk. If your looking to get a good combo and willing to spend the money I’d get this one.

Wow, very impressed, my new favorite lapboard!

I do everything from my couch, health issues have forced me to, and over the years I have used no less than 5 different lapboard/keyboard/wireless mouse combinations, and this new Turret is now my favorite of them all.I have had the Rocat Sova, two different Corsair Lapdog/K70 sets, and the one that was most used before the Turret was the Corsair K63/Lapboard set, all paired with numerous wireless mice over the years, with the most recent being the Logitech G903.Of all my previous setups, all of which I still own except for the Sova which I gave to a friend, each may have one or two things that I prefer over the Turret, but those differences are slight. But, as a total package, along with some of the little things Razer includes like a magnetized mouse, the Turret is simply head and shoulders above them all. With the K63, I really liked the wireless convenience, and until now I felt the lapboard for the K63 was the best of the bunch (followed very closely by the Sova). I did not like the feel of the keys on the K63, as I prefer a tactile click with my mechanical keyboards, as well the K63 keys only have one color lights, in my case blue. The Turret has Razers green switches which have a nice tactile and audible click when pressing the keys, as well as RGB lighting, thus allowing you to change the colors however you like, down to a single key.The K70 LUX RGB and Lapdog set is a really big, heavy, set. It has Cherry Brown switches, which also have a tactile and audible click along with RGB lighting. But it is huge, and some of the edges on the metal Lapdog can be very sharp, as a few cuts I have received can attest to. It has a number pad, which the Turret doesn’t have, but the size and convenience of the Turret really shine here. With the stowable mousepad, which has a mechanical lever that releases it to open and close allowing it to be locked in either the open or closed positition, and while metal the attention to detail Razer paid to the manufacturing process really shows here, as the edges do not feel sharp enough to cut. Also, the weight of the turret, while not being so nearly as heavy as the Lapdog, it is by no means light or cheap feeling, when you pick up the Turret it feels sturdy, well made, and high quality. The K70 Rapidfire RGB has a very short travel distance for the near silent keys, which, while being very fast does not have the tactile and audible click that I prefer. It is also paired with the Lapdog, so other than my preference for the speed of the keys on the rapidfire, see above for why I prefer the Turret. The Sova, while much larger than the Turret, is made of plastic, so is much lighter than the Lapdog, but the keys on it are silent and also locked to only blue lighting, as well I do not care for the layout of the keys. While I am sure that over time you will get used to it, some of the keys are moved from their normal positions in a QWERTY configuration, in order to minimize the footprint of the Sova. The Turret uses a standard QWERTY configuration, as well as having the RGB lighting and clicky keys, and is much smaller, and as such, more convenient. The mouse included with the Turret appears to be a magnetized version of Razer’s wireless Mamba. It has two buttons on the top for adjusting the DPI settings in multiple increments that you set in the software, making it easy to adjust on the fly, just like my favorite mouse the G903, as well as the two, configurable, side buttons. I simply prefer the G903 for how it feels in my hand, no other reason, and will still likely use it if in a situation where I am not using my lapboard, but the magnetization of the Turret mouse is a wonderful touch by Razer. Over the years, anytime I got up, or even just reached over to answer my phone, or moved in any way really, I always had to move my mouse away from the mousepad and set it down somewhere. Thanks to Razer’s thoughfulness, that is no longer neccessary. It is really a wonderful touch, that will likely be overlooked by anyone who doesn’t have experience using other lapboards and wireless miceSo, the bottom line, I simply love my Turret, and am very glad I made this purchase. This opinion is, however, subject to change over time, but unless something changes drastically, I believe my initial impressions are likely to be lasting.

    Dumb product

I want to say that I gave this gadget a try playing Destiny 2 for around an hour and I honestly loved and hated it at the same time, but mostly hated it. The keyboard and it’s lighting and switches are all pretty great. It feels great to type with the keys. The mouse is incredibly comfortable and the clicking feels really extraordinary. The weight of the mouse itself feels pleasant. You still feel the weight a little bit, but you quickly forget it’s there except for one thing:The thing I really really really hate about this mouse: the magnetic attraction between the mouse pad and mouse. This, to me, is the most idiotic gimmick I’ve seen on a keyboard + mouse combo, because it’s both been successful in terms of marketing and also it completely ruins the whole product by actually lessening the comfort you’d actually get if it just simply didn’t exist. The magnetic attraction is supposed to help when you have to either get up from the couch or start just typing for a bit (letting go of the mouse), and then keeping the mouse from falling off the mouse pad and onto your lap or couch. That sounds good in theory, BUT, in my experience the time I’m interacting with this product is like 98% holding the mouse and 2% other activities like typing or whatever. The magnets add weight to the mouse and after and hour of playing my forearm is tired. So I am being inconvenienced for 98% of the time for functionality that is supposed to help 2% of the time. That is the worse part of this. The magnet is so weak that it doesn’t actually hold the mouse in place some of the time. So it fails at its purpose. In other words, the magnets are strong enough to have a balance between somewhat useless and annoying.I am actually writing this review because I want to know if anyone has any idea of how I could disable the magnetism in the mouse pad, because aside from that the product is perfect, honestly.Appreciate the help, thanks.

Pricey, but solid feeling product…product support from Manufacturer lacking

Was able to pull down the software to allow me to configure the keyboard and mouse for sensitivity but it would never launch. Called customer service and they told me to down load the PC version, not the XBOX version. When I tried to correct them they argued with me so I hung up and Sent an email requesting help. I didn’t get a reply for 5 days, so I packed it up and sent it back. Shame, because the product was very solid feeling. Smooth action on the mouse and keys and really like the magnet. Battery life appeared to be as advertised. Not a PC gamer, but seems to me like this is what you would want for some couch gaming, but I think you are really paying a high premium for convenience. I don’t think they could ask near this much for the keyboard and mouse unit seperately, so you are really paying extra for all of it to be seemlessly integrated. It’s what they advertised and it does it well, other than the configuration software I could never get working.

It works, and I do not recommend this for gaming or work. I’ll try to be brief.

I’ve waited and so far I’ve replaced the USB extender I use, I’ve plugged this device directly into the machine, I’ve left it connected via cable to a power source to ensure the battery stays connected, I”ve connected the mouse directly to the keyboard and I’ve tried the reverse of all of the above. I’ve changed the usb hub this connects to on my motherboard. Below is my experience. In action RPG’s like diablo//POE, you go to fight a boss, you hit your potion to keep you from dying, it does nothing because your keyboard has disconnected, and you die.In Shooters you aim, you click to fire, your gun sits idle, you look down to see your keyboard and mouse are unlit, you look back up, and your dead.In racing games you are racing in competition, your car begins to slow to a crawl, you hammer acceleration or any key that boosts your car, it stops, you watch all the other cars pass you by miles, the keyboard flashes saying its connected, but you lost 30 seconds ago.in more standard RPG’s like skyrim you are fighting a dragon one moment and dead the next.In adventure games you go to leap across a gap, your character doesnt catch the ledge. In standard action games you rush for cover and your character sits still. In strategy games theyve made an advance and before your keyboard connects so you can react half your supply line is gone and as such youve lost the match. In grand strategy your hammering away at your keyboard as youve spent 30 minutes of your turn trying to give orders and your keyboard has disconnected 100 times over, you have another hour left of your single turn.In simulation games your city is on fire and burning down, theres traffic and youve got to find a route forward, your city has burnt to the ground before you’ve seen the fire as youve been plugging and unplugging your keyboard for minutes trying to solve a problem in the real world.Immersion is whats missing for this product to truly be related to gaming. You spend so much time wondering why your buttons didnt work and what you could do to fix that in between moments on screen that you dont progress and wonder why it takes so long to finish your games. Your character has spent 40 hours of your 40 hour game leveling because you die so frequently because you cannot heal. Your city has burnt down and been rebuilt too many times to count because you as the god of your world cant even stop a fire or help your city rebuild as you are fiddling with your godly usb dongle. But thats not where this ends. You work as a callcenter agent, a call is coming in on your softphone, you go to answer and the mouse doesnt move. You try to use your shortcut and the keyboard is off for unknown reasons. You miss the call, you get written up. You only have three of those. You work in data entry, you have a report due soon but just cant get excel to work for you in time, you miss your deadline, you get written up, confidence in you has dropped.Your a writer who only wants to write their book, and as the words flow from your imagination and change themselves into pixels in your memory, you look up to find half your paragraph was never written at all.Your an architect and your mouse keeps working but your keyboard shortcut fails and autocad has been drawing the wrong thing for hours.Your an artist and youve deleted your drawing youve spent hours on.You work in photoshop and youve deleted a layer because while it didnt take your selection for delete, it will delete your entire layer because a minute or two ago thats what it saw you do.In short, which this is surely not, this keyboard confuses your computer. Its like trying to talk but the words in your heads come out delayed and sometimes not at all, and while the conversation was happening 10 minutes ago and you were a participant, everyone has moved on with someone elses idea while yours is still coming out of your mouth but now your alone, and everyones moved on from you. That is what this keyboard is, and I’ve written this on it. Its my option for now for a wireless keyboard that has a mouse so I can use it at my not desk and continue using my PC as a monitor. But ill just tell you, im in IT, im not bad at it. I’ve spent weeks trying to get this to not disconnect and I suspect my last attempt will be plugging it in via USB cable, and then what was the point of this things cost in the first place. You will eventually run into one of the moments above no matter how much you work to fix it. I thought when i bought this that people just did not know what they were doing too, and while im not arrogant enough to suggest that I’m doing things perfectly, and while that is probably the case for a good few of them, make no mistake…This keyboard will fail on you in an important moment, and much like your alarm clock in the morning, that can be the difference between winning, or failing, living, or dying, making money and keeping your lifestyle, or not, for some of us.The above might seem like alot for a keyboard, but I wanted to get my point across. I’ll likely be buying another as apparently, Razer locked the keyboard to each individual proprietary usb dongle, and as such cannot provide a replacement if mine is not functioning as expected without replacing the entire keyboard. And know, that with so many people reporting the issue, even if it is a malfunctioning piece, its a 50/50 shot every time, if the keyboard worked correctly in the first place.
