    Satisfied

Coming down from an ACER predator XB271HU. So far impressed with what you get for 300 bucks+tax. The monitor came in with no dead or blemishes. The colors are vibrant, not as good as a my predator but more than good enough with the contrast knocking my xb271hu out of the water. I had no problem going into the osd and changing the settings straight to 200hz. Freesync isn’t quite as good nvidia’s proprietary hardware based gsync but more than good enough, you won’t notice any difference unless you purposely go looking for differences. Mainly this came down to looking for slight tearing at sub 60fps range while moving back and forth/up and down rapidly in order to cause anything noticeable. The freesync range is a nice 48-200hz that i was able to extend slightly to 40-200hz with cru. With this being a VA panel with an advertised 5ms response(gtg) ghosting was to be expected at the higher refresh rates. Surprisingly though there was minimal ghosting even when i took this up 150-200fps in overwatch/ffxiv/vermintide 2/ ffxv/ ni no kuni 2/black desert online/shadow of war/ doom/pubg/RB Siege/ warframe/witcher 3/ AC odyssey. My system specs were an rtx 2080/ r7 2700x/16gb of 3000mhz c16.

    Great value for 21:9 1080P

For anyone wanting to dip their toes in ultrawide monitors this is a good start especially if you’re looking for something at this price range. You get the most value especially since it does actually support 200hz on display port.It took me some time to get used to but it actually is an upgrade over the IPS 27″ 16:9 75hz monitor I replaced. The drawback I had was that this monitor is much skinnier (hieght) but makes up for being longer (legnth) and is better for productivity. I didn’t want to do a dual screen setup and have a bezel running down the middle so for my needs an ulrawide is the best solution. If I could afforded it I would have went for a real 2k or 4k display but would be sacraficing refresh rate for the price and also my PC is only capable of 1080p gaming because I’m using an older i5 4690k with a GTX 1070. So this entirely depends on your setup. If you are running a rig capable of 4k gaming I would invest in something higher end. But for my setup (1080p gaming) this is the cherry on top The 200hz is buttery smooth and games look outstanding. It did give me an upper hand that my old 27″ couldn’t do for Modern Warfare 2019. All though the colors don’t pop like an IPS panel, this VA panel does a decent job with contrast and lighting.Overall this is great Ultra wide for 21:9 1080p gaming.

    Beautiful monitor for the value

Start off by prefacing I’m on a novice when it comes to monitors of this scale (as you can see by my 2nd monitor in the picture), but from a basic point of view this monitor is truly beautiful. Been playing a few games now and there’s no dead pixels, gorgeous picture on even older games, mount is sturdy and easy to install, and the best part is the price compared to others. I have yet to see another of similar size and Hz offered that even comes close to this in price, with most being at least $100 more for what I can see as barely any difference in quality. I should also mention, this product comes with a Display Port cord, so no need to buy one separate if you plan to use that port.I’m not sure about the two recent 1-star reviews below me, as I had no issues, and all the parts were wrapped in included in an orderly manner, and Sceptre has a warranty, as well as a support line, that they could have contacted at any time (information included in the box). Some advice for them, and to others to potentially avoid their fate: DON’T GRAB THE MONITOR BY THE SCREEN WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE BOX. There’s a warning on the side of the box when you open it saying if you do it could potentially damage the monitor, but I could see how someone could miss this and do that, and then blame the product as being defective. Second, the AC adapter for the power cord is in a separate part of the box from the main cord, so you could potentially miss this if you open the other side first and assume it wasn’t included, and then throw away the piece of foam which has the adapter in it.All that being said, would definitely recommend this product if you want good quality for cheaper.Update: 5 months in and I still couldn’t be happier with this purchase, not a dead pixel in sight. My first flat screen was a Sceptre and lasted for 5-6 years, and this one is shaping up to be the same. Good value, good quality

    I’m only upset that I didn’t buy 3

For anyone who doesn’t know much about monitors, has only gamed on a regular ol’ standard 21″ screen at 60Hz, and just wants to make sure they’re not buying junk to save a buck; me too, so listen up.In short, if the above description is you, this is a solid purchase. Unless you’re obsessed with panels and follow the development of display technology as a hobby, this thing will blow your expectations out of the water.A few points on my experience so far:- It’s a massive screen. If you haven’t had an ultrawide, don’t mind the fact that it’s on the smaller side compared to others. It’s still an absurdly large display. Unless you’re moving from a 50″ TV for some reason, you won’t regret not having gotten a larger one.- It’s pretty as Hell. The hardware itself feels high quality, and if you’ve never really gone beyond 1080p displays, you’re in for a treat. I didn’t even touch the display settings and every single 4K video I’ve pulled up looks absolutely fantastic. Maybe some tech-enthusiasts can find some minor details that make a $5000 dollar monitor better – but again, if you just want something nice without taking out loans, you’ll be happy with the picture quality.- 200Hz is absurdly smooth. If you haven’t gone past 60Hz you’re going to be shocked at just how good it looks. You’re going to drag windows around and watch your cursor move with your mouth agape. I honestly recommend stepping up from 60Hz to 200Hz slowly, because I actually got a bit motion sick. That’s not because the monitor has an issue – it’s because it’s so buttery smooth that my brain mistook it for natural motion. The verdict: If you’re looking to upgrade from an outdated monitor and know that you want something to let you see what the 4K/200Hz hype is about, you can’t go wrong with this monitor. You won’t feel ripped off, you’ll get a great bang for your buck, and you’ll be satisfied to learn that it is in fact as good of a deal as it seems to be.

    Smooth as Butter

I have gone through multiple monitors in the past couple of years, trying to find the right one that also doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Before this, I was using a 34″ LG Ultrawide at 75hz. For 2560*1080, I found 35″ to be too big of a screen. I think this is a perfect size. The details are much better and it is soooooo smooth. I notice minimal to no ghosting. I wouldn’t let that scare you away. The overall color/picture quality is also solid. Build construction is good. The monitor has a nice heft. The ONLY drawback, in my opinion, is the stand that this monitor comes with. As you can see from my picture, it is too short, and causes you to crane your neck down. I tried a generic monitor riser (also pictured) and it worked okay, but made the overall footprint of the monitor too large. Additionally, the monitor’s legs were so long that they hung off the side of the riser. Finally, I tried a $30 monitor arm (also pictured). It makes the monitor take up the least amount of desk space, and is also the most flexible in terms of height/orientation. The built-in VESA adapter is sturdy and I have no concerns in regards to it.Overall, I think this monitor is a no brainer.

    Okay when it works

UPDATE 4 April 2020: Bumped up to 4 stars. I’m still annoyed at the lack of menu when no video source is plugged in, but some of the contrast issues can be fixed with the Picture settings (once the monitor has a video input).ORIGINAL REVIEW:I got this so I could work from home. The monitor looks good (when not plugged in), and with a mount it was able to fit in just great even in with my smaller work-at-home desk. When it works, it gives a reasonably clear picture. It is fairly low-contrast, so even a black screen glows a lot. And although it is 2560×1080, that can look a little chunky on such a big screen. But I think that’s fine for the price point. However, it is up to the monitor itself to decide when it will and will not accept input. Some days it works fine. Other days it refuses to listen to any input signals (I’ve tried with multiple laptops that work fine with other outputs). Also, the monitor’s on-screen menu system usually won’t work. If you turn on the monitor with no signal coming in, the monitor will not let you pop up the on-screen menu. Which means you can’t diagnose any input problems etc.

ABSOULTE GREAT MONITOR! GREAT BUY! IMPRESSIVE!

I am seriously impressed with this 30in ultra wide monitor by Sceptre! Great value for the money! I actually had a larger 34in ultra wide monitor by LG but it had a 60hz refresh rate and no AMD Free Sync. I think for the money you are getting a very good ultra wide monitor! Very stylish with a thin bezel! Pretty good picture! A lot better than my 34in LG ultra wide! Can’t go wrong! My PC specs are AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM, ASUS X470 motherboard, Enermax 240mm AIO, Enermax Squa RGB fans, Seasonic Silent Snow PSU, Sapphire Nitro+ 5700XT video card, ADATA XPG NVme M.2 SSD, and InWin 301 PC case.

    Still getting to know her

Okay so far the monitor looks nice so far. I see a couple things right off that I need to confirm before I give a full review. Will keep you posted. Biggest thing is right now it looks like there is a 1/4 black bar bezel around the top and the two sides. They say this is a bezel free design, but I see one and have not been able to get rid of it with settings. This brings the screen size down to 29.5″ not the 30″ as advertised, which is not a huge deal but kind of annoying and misleading. Again I will update this once I spend more time with it so please don’t take this as a bad, or good, review yet..

Designed for gaming with the right PC Hardware. Not designed as a MAC Gamer.

One drawback is when it comes to PC’s and Monitors, you won’t know for sure until you try it out for yourself. You can ask the seller questions, but sometimes the question you should have asked isn’t obvious until the thing is sitting on your desk. It may boil down to something very specific to your application/environment/ergonomics that the seller, or even the manufacturer can’t give you a definitive answer because of the subjective nature of sitting in front of a screen for hours at a time. A big help for me in determining which to order is to download the user manual and quick set-up guides from the Manufacturer Website. By carefully reading the specs and going through the OSD Menu entries I am sure that what I’m ordering, at least on paper, has the right specs. This way, the monitors should have all the right comparable specs and you should end up with what you really want. Still, as was it was in my case you may have to try it out before you can finalize the purchase. I need a widescreen curved monitor such as this 30″ Scepter with PBP (split screen) so as to be able to work on documents from two different inputs, i.e. two PC’s. So I am reviewing this from more of a business angle, not from a Gaming criteria. Basically, it is a simple, single-purpose gaming PC Monitor. If used just for gaming on an Nvidia Graphics PC, it works as advertised. You’ve got to match video cards, max res, number and type of inputs, hdmi 1.4, 2.0? Is Displayport 1.2 enough? I finally narrowed down to a 30-32 inch 21:9 ultrawide, curved, (gaming) monitor though I would only use it for business. I need a split screen with quick and easy transition from one input to another. To change inputs from one PC to another on this monitor requires 11 button pushes and the dual split-screens are squished horizontally as determined by the screen width and 2560hz horizontal resolution. Nothing really wrong with the monitor itself. My opinion is that this monitor should be best acknowledged as a single input Gaming monitor. It was not quite suitable for my application. Better would be a wider monitor with higher horizontal frequency. The Wall Plate though not it’s intended use can be attaching it to a standard 4 hole Vesa mounting arm plate. It comes with a 75mm 4 hole Adapter, so it can be done. Two little bolts attach one side to the monitor, the other side can be fastened to a regular Monitor mounting plate (75mm hole pattern) on the extended arm of your vesa desktop stand mounted to your desk . You will have to obtain an additional four M4 x 20mm bolts, with washers and nuts to bolt (fasten) Wall Mount to the Vesa plate of your stand. Easily accomplished except for obtaining your own hardware. No wall plate screws are supplied as there are different types of wall mounts. At this price point, as I’ve mentioned, this monitor is designed to work best with a PC having an Nvidia Video Card using GSync. They tell you up front how it’s designed to work. With the right hardware you can get the 160 – 200 hz frequency for high-end gaming. With Displayport 1.2 I was able to get 120hz picture that was good enough for ordinary Windows 10 desktop, but I can’t comment how it would work for gaming. Need Displayport 1.4, or Hdmi 2.0 to obtain 160-200hz. The Nvidia drivers must be up to date and can be downloaded from Nvidia Website. The driver page lists a long paragraph of Nvidia cards compatible with that driver. It may work well enough with other PC video cards as well, but I was using an old GT 620. No problem with the latest driver but not suitable for intensive gaming. Using with a Mac, (I have a Macbook Pro) is a crapshoot. Older Macs are designed to work with older Mac compatible hardware. This monitor, as is the case with the majority of OEM generic monitors, is directed at the Windows PC Market. If it works with your Mac, well and good, but don’t count on it, not for serious gaming for sure. My 2011 Macbook Pro has early thunderbolt – backwards compatible with mini-displayport. I used a mini-displayport cable with short mini-displayport to Displayport adapter. Macbook has a 2560×1440 spec video output. It connected with the monitor but full-screen picture was a little vertically flattened, (i.e.horizontall stretched); not acceptable. Mac System Preferences Display Icon showed 1080p. That is correct, but the Macbook is designed for 4:3 ratio. My Macbook was never intended to handle 21:9 aspect ratio; not the fault of the monitor. Works perfect though with my 21.5 inch Acer screen. Newer macs with thunderbolt 3, a.k.a. USB-C should be compatible with USB-C input monitors. In order to avoid the hassle of a return, my advice is to ask the seller – better yet, download the manual, especially with third-party sellers as return shipping is pretty expensive. Be aware of the intended use and specs and consider that in order to get a monitor with better options, you might have to spend another $100.00 or more. What I could determine is that used as intended and properly set up, it will do what is advertised at 160hz For business, with dual inputs, maybe not, but the manufacturer does not advertise it as anything but designed for gaming so I really can’t complain. I had to try it to find out.Walter O.

    Great Value for the money

So far it’s looks good as describe.I’m in love of the fact that this is a curved monitor as it’s my first one like that. It’s working great and the quality really stands out… I don’t see any reason why to buy more expensive monitors as I use my computer for video editing and not for gaming etc. it’s a great value for the money I can tell you that.
