Great game that takes me back to my childhood! I also like that it has multiple games that have multi player so my kids can both enjoy this game together. The reason I didn’t rate 5 stars is because the menu style where you choose the game is confusing it’s not the regular layout it’s on what looks like a spinwheel with pictures randomly flashing by as you scroll through the games so luckily I remembered my favorite games names because the menu style isn’t helpful.

Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection – Playstation 3

I just got this yesterday, a day earlier than expected. And I gotta say, just about everything with this collection is wonderfully presented. The titles themselves are what I’ve come to expect, and I really like the library overall. It would’ve been nice to have Alien Soldier or something niche to spice it up, but considering we even got the arcade ports of Fantasy Zone and Altered Beast, I’m not gonna let that bother me.The games have been up-scaled to 720p, and they all look amazing on an HDTV. The games start up in a 4:3 aspect ratio box, which looks fine, but there’s also a 16:9 option with no box that looks absolutely spectacular if you’re playing on a big TV. There’s also a smoothing option, but although it hides the pixels much better, it just looks bad overall. Wouldn’t recommend using that feature, though I’m not sure I’d say it’s useless.Packed in the collection are various interviews and extra games to keep your mind busy. You even have this little red box on the right of every game that lets you rank it from 0 to 5, which is a cute idea. (Can’t do that with the bonus games though.)Overall, the definitive Genesis collection, bar none. You get save states, the games look and sound amazing, and the titles themselves are the classics. It’s hard not to enjoy games like Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Gain Ground, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, etc. You get a variety of genres that blend well together, and overall, that’s all that needs to be said. I’ve come a long way from those Jakks Pacific plug n’ plays, and if you’re a decent Sega fan and want to see what the system had to offer in a new upgraded light, then this is what you’re looking for.

There is nothing much new to cover on this. This one I got was shipped by Amyzon. the product works just fine as far as I know. But I need to cover the part it was in strange flimsy wrapping compared to other products. It does not seem to affect the game play but just the cosmetic outer look of it. Not really so much a problem. It just looks as repackaged. So if that is worthy of a star being moved then that is all. I have nothing else really to say about the product because that seems to be covered in the rest of the reviews. As for the game it’s self is a personal 5 star. be sure to get yourself a plug in controller for USB slot, you will want it later with certain games (it works better).

Super nostalgic takes me back to when I was a kid playing games with my dad I kind of cried thinking about him cuz he passed away a year ago. I think my dad would lose his mind playing this he would love it so much. It came really fast the disc is clean no scratches or fingerprints and the container comes in is the original box with original artwork the box is not damaged it’s brand new looking it basically looks like I just got it from the store. Really recommend the game it’s fun except one or two games that are impossible for me but I just may be bad at those games LOL. They tried their best to make the artwork similar to the original game which is really hard but they did it pretty well. I will buy from the seller again.

It is what it is. plus, there are “hidden” games you can unlock. SMS games like Phantasy Star 1!If you were born before 1984 or so, and fondly remember this stuff…Buy it.Realize the games are in the 3:4 old school screen ratio. These are NOT true HD re-makes.A nice bonus is the “smoothing” option. It makes the pixels look less square; more like how it looked on an old CRT TV. Fuzzy, but not too fuzzy to play. Excellent, IMO.

I really don’t have a whole lot to say here, but really, how many things (good things) could I say about this collection that haven’t been said already, probably many times? To be honest, I grew up much more on Nintendo than on Sega. I did get a Master System (well, to be more accurate, my older bro got it for me), but I only accumulated a few games for it. My bro got a Genesis and several games for it, but he played them more than I did. And most of them aren’t here, as they weren’t made by Sega, or because of whatever other reasons (lack of popularity?). Nintendo got most of my attention (and much of my bro’s, too). So, this collection doesn’t hold nearly as much nostalgia for me as it does for many other people. Nevertheless, I still think this is an awesome collection. (I also think it’s kind of cute how they tried to make it look like Sonic picked out the games!)Some of these games I first played (and first had) on the Sega Genesis collection for PS2. That collection is not exactly the same as this one; it doesn’t have some of the games that this one does, and vice versa… although this one is bigger, with like 50 games! (As you might expect, it is rather Sonic-heavy!… That Sonic sure is humble, isn’t he, picking all those games with him in them… Just joking there!) In fact, one of the reasons I got this collection is because it has the Streets Of Rage games, all of which, to my puzzlement, are absent from the PS2 collection. (One of the games that appears on that collection, but not on this one, is Virtua Fighter… but I’m not complaining, ’cause the Genesis version of that is terrible, at least in my opinion.)I do have one major complaint about this collection, and that is that some of the games (the ones that are actually arcade or SMS ones) are “unlockables.” (There’s “unlockable” stuff on the PS2 collection, too).Overall, though, this is a killer collection, and a must-have for those who grew up with the Sega Genesis… it’s also a great buy for people like me who grew up mostly on a diet of NES and SNES (or whatever other systems)! And for the prices you can get it for now (20 bucks and under), you REALLY can’t go wrong!

Bought this for my nephew, who’s starting to get into video games. Sadly, he got bored with it rather quickly–he’d much rather play a racing game or Skyrim. I’m still glad I bought this, though. I didn’t have a Sega Genesis when I was younger (Super Nintendo all the way!) and now I can finally enjoy some classic Sonic. There are tons of other Sega games on here as well, but I haven’t given any of them a try yet.

I got this game so my kids could see what games were like when I was younger. Only thing that sucks is that since it is a bunch of games you don’t have a book to tell you what you can do which makes it a little more difficult . I would recommend buying though. Kinda sucks though that it doesn’t take up the whole tv screen it’s like a box in the middle of it so if you are planning on playing this on a smaller tv remember it’s only going to be a box in the middle of the screen
