    Rating the Switch version specifically

I was so excited for this game but didn’t realize the level to which the developers downscaled the graphics for this game to function on the Switch. I had to put it down during the first 5 mins of gameplay because it felt like I was playing without my glasses on. Everything is immensely blurry and difficult to see. They’ve stripped the landscape of trees, plants, etc. And the joystick latency is a nightmare. I thought putting this game on the Switch seemed like a good idea but now I deeply regret buying it for this console. Don’t get me wrong, the game itself is fantastic but it’s port for the Switch should have never happened. I don’t know who tf approved this for release. If you’re interested in buying this, buy it for a different console (preferably PC).

true graphics arent great but the game is engaging

first hour impressions: yeah the graphics are pretty bad. basically if you were playing skyrim on medium to low. gameplay is fine though so far, pretty fun so eventually I don’t pay attention. I only got the switch because my computer isnt great and I don’t have any other consoles—at least I didn’t pay full price, but compared to other games it should’ve been at least $40. I’d rate 4 stars but based on the price and compared to how it is with other releases, not worth it for brand new game…unless they release some sort of patch. again, the game itself is enjoyable.edit: also noticed ps4 and xbox went on sale for half the price, so keeping this still at $59.99 is unfair for the quality. luckily paid for mine $49 but I mean….just not good comparing the savings you’d get with the ps4 and xbox version which comes with far better quality. I’m not trashing this game for quality alone, I’m just saying with how the graphics are it’s not worth the price.

Great game, but graphics are truly horrible

I specifically wanted to get Outer Worlds on my Switch because as the mother of two young boys, TV time is hard to come by. The portability of a game like this really appealed to me.Having seen the bad reviews, I questioned whether the graphics could really be that bad, or if people were just comparing them to those on the Xbox, etc. I knew they wouldn’t be as good, and I was okay with that. But wow, they’re truly horrible! Textures are grainy and everything looks kind of blurry. I’m shocked they released this. The story and world is great so far, but I still feel disappointed in the graphics. They’re distracting. Hoping they release a patch soon, so I can really enjoy the game. I regret buying it at full price.

    Worth playing

Accept that it looks like an Xbox 360 game running on Switch, and you just might have yourself a good time! Well-written and amusing dialog, interesting and rewarding side-quests, and just enough variety overall in gameplay make this worthwhile. Is it the next New Vegas? Not by a long shot. Is it worth $60? Maybe not… But is it worth playing? Absolutely.

    It’s not the best choice… It’s SPACER’S CHOICE

So I knew there would have to be some downgrades graphics wise for the Nintendo Switch to be able to run this game. However I wasn’t expecting it to be as excessive as it was. The game seems responsive and doesn’t lag.. The graphics and shading sometimes either takes time to load on certain things or don’t load at all. Some enemies seem to deform when you defeat them as well like the Canid pictured. The story itself is good and entertaining. The levels aren’t quite as big as Fallout 4 but there’s enough to keep ya busy. All in all it’s a good game. Just expect some compromises

    Good Gameplay, Terrible Port

I really wanted to play this game when it first came out but I held it off from my PS4 Pro when they announced that it was coming on the Switch since I travel a lot and wanted to buy it for trips and on the go. Bad mistake. The first thing I noticed after my first time playing was how muddled the whole thing was. Sometimes all the colors just blur together and becomes super fuzzy. The worst part is when in combat. When you’re pitted against multiple enemies, it just becomes too laggy and blurry. This is a terrible port. Do yourself a favor and get it on console or pc because the Switch port is not an option.
