    Garbage

I’ve always been a fan of Turtle Beach as it was the cheaper but still as good for the price range headset I grew up with. I had sadly lost a beloved headset of 3 years prior to shopping for this one because the plastic on the ear cup attaching it broke. So I spent hours doing research and finally decided to ball out in price range for this mainly because of the aluminum framing ridding the problem of the one that broke. I had read so many bad reviews about this headset and audio issues but they were from the first weeks of release. I only ordered it despite that because there were a few recent reviews stating there was an audio patch and the problem was fixed. Can’t tell you how agitating my week of gaming was when this all happened… I got this thing and the audio was trash even after the update was done. I contacted support and they told me multiple things to try but it was mostly all things I’d already done myself. Ultimately after a week of using the headset, I just ran into so many problems that I ordered one of the rival headsets. So the Astro A40s came in and it was clear that the Turtles headset was superior when it came to headset but that’s it. The performance was all on Astro’s end & the astro amp was doing so much more work than the Turtles to make the headset superior. So of course I even plugged in the Turtles to the astro Amp and the results were astonishing to see that the Astro amp alone was able to make the headset better than the Turtle’s own amp. I even played like that a while but I couldn’t return just bits and pieces from both orders. So if you really want to keep this headset then just get the Astro A40 TR Amp BUT you will lose the mic boom feature from the turtles and will only be able to adjust audio via the amp as there is no audio controls on the turtles themselves. Other than that if you don’t like Astros or want to stay with turtles then I’d just recommend you get the Elite Pro 1 and the tactical Puck or the same Astro Amp for that one.Just trust me when I tell you that the app for this headset is the only way to adjust audio and I even had a 3 day span after the astros got there that the volume would drastically reduce on its own as the game went on. It was literally every 5 mins of adjusting being done to keep it at the volumes and settings i Wanted.CUstomer Support told me to file a ticket after explaining every issue to them and that ticket was an email form. It was laughable how much they didn’t care to help. EVen after returning the headset, I finally got an email back 4 days later. Mind you I returned the headset after 2 and a half weeks of having it altogether and spending a week with the Turtles and Astros together running many tests.

Depressing switched back to old headset

Not really one to leave bad reviews. But bought these extremely excited l, was going to switch out my old Astro a50’s so I traded them in toward the purchase of these. Kind of a huge mistake in its current state. The audio is tinny and rediculously lowI have better spacial awareness from my tv audio. Generally it feels defective almost like I got a brand new bad model judging by these reviews.Contacted support with no word back. Just really disappointed and extremely frustrated at this point.Playing any game that requires the ability to hear footsteps shouldn’t require someone to shoot out you to hear to know someone is there. You’re already dead. Honestly when testing this the “super amp” at 50 – 75% volume is muted. I can really only hear anything above the 75% threshold it just feels broken. You shouldn’t be able to get better audio from a pair of 15 dollar headphones from target.Probably going to return them soon unless something changes or support contacts me back.UPDATE: I put in for a replacement model through Amazon and hopefully the issue is isolated as this seems just way too low like you were hearing the game through a clock radio with the headphones on.I will test this and hopefully update my review or ultimately switch to a new brand completely.Update 2: got new pair. Was equally as terrible as the first pair. These headphones have to be a joke or something. The audio is awful. It feels like everything is just equalized to basic. You have to run around with super human hearing on to basically make them usable. Anything below 75% audio in the mixer is basically mute. These headphones are just flat out trash. I would really look elsewhere specially for good headphones with a price tag thIs high. You are buying a brand name with really no support and a pair of clock radios that comfortably sit on your head.Update 3: Went with seinhessier gaming headphones and had 0 problems since. I highly recommend the gaming headphones subreddit to get an idea as they have pinned buyers guide threads. I was basically laughed at when I mentioned I bought these. Please don’t waste your time.

This is the only reason it’s not a perfect 5 star product

I almost never write reviews, but I felt obligated to write one for this headset, simply because I almost overlooked these and chose a different product based on the poor reviews.Comfort: This is by far the most comfortable headset/headphones I’ve ever worn. Especially for someone that wears glasses, where prolonged use of previous over ear headphones would lead to near untolerable pain forcing me to remove my headset. With the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2’s memory foam ear pads that can simply be replaced due to the magnetic attachment feature, I don’t notice any difference with glasses on or off and because the memory foam leaves no air gaps, they cut out outside noise and help them sound incredible.Mic: I was worried about the removable mic since past headsets would have terrible static and feedback whenever you would adjust the mic, but this mic locks in preventing the connection from twisting when you move the mic closer/farther from your mouth. Mic is great.Sound: These are on a whole nother level between the quality of the speakers and the amount of options to customize with the Turtle Beach app. With 4 different surround sound modes! And 4 different audio presets with the ability to make as many custom ones as you want (adjusting Treble/Mid/Bass) and there’s even a separate setting for streaming audio settings.Another pro besides what I listed above is that it comes with everything for any connection. A digital audio cable for PS4, and a setup for Xbox and PC.CONS and the only reason it’s not a 5 star review. You need a mobile device with the app to control these. There is no way around it… like if I’m listening to music and want the sound max volume I have to change the (Game/Mic) volume mixer all the way to game. But if someone joins me and I need to hear them, I have to open the app back up and adjust it back. And 90% of the settings are done through the app… You can only change the master volume, and mute/unmute without needing the app.

    Was great. Now it BLOWS!!

UPDATE: went from super happy to, this thing is crap. Not only do you have to connect to the app on ur phone EVERY TIME you turn it on to get your settings.. half the time that doesnt even work and gets stuck. ..ok fine i can almost deal with that.. now 4 months later. Every time i go to use it,no one can hear me.. almost like its stuck on mute. No one can hear me and if i reboot it. It works for 2 seconds then stops. If i plug it in to the controller by itself it works then back to the amp. Nothing. What a waste of money.. i will be trying to return it..This headset is freakin awesome. All the negative reviews i don’t understand one bit.Ive used:HyperX cloudx flight wireless (comfortable but not loud enough, directional was bad)Astro a50 (really nice, but after trying different EQs and still not getting what i needed for Pubg, i gave up)HyperX cloudx (cheap, not good)These were super loud after the update, and best for hearing footsteps on pubg hands down, no questions asked with super human hearing on. Get this headset, only minor complaint is its not the most comfortable of the 4 i tried

    Good but could be better

Really like this headset audio quality is top of the line but saying that this headset does not go loud enough I see reviews and others who have got this headset all say the same thing. I’ve got in touch with turtle beach to see if there’s going to be a firmware to fix this if not I will have return these and go back to my seven pro headset which is way louder. All I can say is if you like a loud headset just hold off on this the now and see if they fix this problem that people are having with the volume not been loud enough.Update: it’s not the headset that has the low volume it’s the super Amp that your headset is connected to that’s the problem the amp won’t let you go past a certain volume if you disconnected your headset from the amp and plug it straight into the controller you can have the volume way higher and it sounds great plus the elite tac works with it and that is way better than that useless super amp. Hope this helps everyone who’s having problems with this headset.

These Replaced my Astro A50 Gen 3

I’ve used these headphones for three days, so these still have to hold up to the test of time. That being said, so far I like:1.) The USB -> Amp -> Headphone Setup. While I appreciate the total wireless freedom of the A50’s, not dealing with auto shut offs, batteries, and sound disruptions was my main reason for purchase. Happy with the results, will see how wired holds up the first time I jerk the amp off the coffee table.2.) Windows Sonic. I have not paid for Dolby Atmos, and at this point I do not feel the urge to. I thought the sound was better and more immersive than the sound I was getting from the Dolby 7.1 setting I used on the A50’s.3.) Xbox Hardware Recognition. Small thing, but it is so nice not to have to walk back up and uplug the USB to reset the base station so that I’m recognized in party chat. When Xbox is on, I’m good to go.4.) Game Chat. Welcome back! I’m almost always using Xbox Party Chat but when I’m playing Destiny it’s nice to have the option to opt into Fireteam Chat.5.) Bluetooth. Paired up easily with my phone. Some things I felt could use improvement:-1.) Turtle Beach Audio Hub App.: Using my Android Phone, sometimes the buttons felt unresponsive. I just got these things and wanted to play with settings a bunch. It works, but I felt the experience could have been better.-2.) Glass Relief System: Not a real negative, I just don’t see the upside. Sound isolation does not seem to be greatly effected wherever my cushion tab is set, but the same can be said for pressure relief on the frame of my glasses. My glasses fit fairly snug to my face, and my headset/glass fit puts the relief design just a little high. I use it and have the tabs pegged on the last setting, but not a big deal for me and has never been a previous issue. If it is an issue for you on your current set up… your results might vary.-3.) Comfort. I find these comfortable! However, for the extended play time I put in yesterday… I did not find them as comfortable as my Astro A50 Gen 3 with the fabric cushions.-4.) Mute Control. Comming from a wireless set up where I just flipped my mic boon up, fiddling to find the dongle is a minor hassle. I’d like to see something integrated into the amp. (Which besides bluetooth, feels just like a big volume knob/cable break with glowy bits)Conclusion Notes: This is my first experience with Turtle Beach, and I am satified with the purchase. For me the sound isolation balance is what I was looking for. I felt more immersed in my game. I did not have a issue with the overall volume level which is a topic I’ve seen brought up before. Durability, more experience using chat, and playing more with the settings is where my comments may fall short for my personal experience.

    Biggest rip offl

Turtle Beach is JUNKThis elite 2 and pre amp is supposed to be their top of the line systemFirst off..it’s not very loud or has any bottom end (bass). Pathetic for a preampNext. Even after 3 updates from turtle Beach the preamp doesn’t save ur settingsEverytime u power on the device..u have to turn on Bluetooth on the preamp..then use the turtle Beach Android app to adjust the sliders and turn on or off featuresNext and even bigger nightmareThe mic port!! It’s garbage!! Broke right away…it’s super small no support..I set my headset down on back side..no street to mic at all…it’s just a poor designNext up..their customer service…non existentDo your self a favor and never buy turtle Beach..I wish I could get my money back.I was really excited until I got them..been one thing after another

Not as good as the previous version

I htought that this new model would blow away the 800 PS4 model that I sold to get this one. Unfortunately, this “premium” headset isnt even truely wireless, you have to be completely cabled up to that puck including the headset wired to it. The 800 was actually wireless and the sound and look and feel was much better. This is the first time that a newer model seems less as good as the previous version. Even the cabling was cheap- the twist tie wraps that hold the cables together in the packaging sheered the protective cover on the puck cables in th ebox so bad that i had to tape it up withduct tape to cover the exposed wires/shielding. In the end it works but the 800 is 100 times better….

Just short of being perfect…then it craps out

Having used the original Elite Pro along with Tactical Audio Controller I was highly anticipating the follow up from Turtle Beach. To my surprise they did almost everything I wished for to the headset. They made it slightly lighter, better microphone and a removable cable. The headset is again very comfortable right out of the box and it sounds incredible. Using Windows Sonic along with the bass and treble boost setting I can pinpoint enemy locations in shooters and pickup important audio cues. Really pleased with the overall sound quality. However I do wish the volume was just a bit louder. It’s probably at a good volume to not damage your hearing when using for long periods of time but I’d like a little more oomph sometimes. The superamp didnt impress me initially as I really had no problems with the tac from the original. Now it’s kinda grown on me using it and I like it more. I do wish however that it had more functionality instead of relying so heavily on the audio hub app. I would love to be able to change the sound presets right from it but whatever. Really a nice combo from Turtle Beach that in my opinion is better than the Astro A40/ Mixamp TR combo at the same price point. You get a better sounding headset with a better microphone.Edit 12/7/2018: Did the firmware update that was made available and my overall volume seems to have increased quite alot. Still not close to what the original TAC could do which is disappointing considering how good it sounds. Hopefully another firmware update will be made to increase the volume more. Unless the superamp just isnt that powerfulEdit 12/12/2018: For some reason bluetooth connection is no longer working properly so I cannot make changes to the headset settings unless i plug into a PC each and every time. Such a inconvenience as forcing me to use the app originally instead of having the superamp do anything other than be a glorified volume wheel has made me decide to return the headset. I want convenience and something that just works without hassle.
