Nice to have a wireless RGB option for keyboard and mouse, fun to use

We have enjoyed using this RGB keyboard and mouse combination. It’s fun to watch the different light combinations that can be adjusted with keyboard command as well as being that it’s Wireless, we can use it most anywhere in the room with the computer, and do not have to be right near the computer. The range is good for 2.4 GHz know that it runs in. We’re getting great battery run time out of it, and it wakes up at a sleep mode just perfectly. Being that it’s a mechanical seal keyboard, it does a good job, but not quite as good as our actual mechanical keyboard. Overall nice setup for someone desiring a wireless RGB keyboard/mouse option.

Cheap USB port, Cheap Plastic, Spotty Wireless Connection, and inconsistent keys

Alright, so it looks pretty cool, the light isn’t as vibrant as I thought it would be, but that’s not too big a deal. Also be careful because it looks like it is mechanical, but it isn’t (I knew this though before buying it so that’s not a gripe, just a heads up). Unfortunately I have many more issues than positives given this costs $56 (at the time of writing this).Cheap USB Port – This is a major annoyance for me, the cable that was included for charging doesn’t plug into the USB port, taking a look into the port the plastic is frayed/expanded more than it should be, I tried about 4 different cables and unfortunately the only micro usb cable that fits is one that came with my old google chromecast and that port was slightly bent.Cheap Plastic – The metal piece right behind the keys is awesome, but that’s it. The keys feel cheap, the back plastic is cheap, the on switch is incredibly cheap, the plastic on the usb dongle feels like a McDonalds toy, and so on. The letter font on the keys is not quite cut right to where it just looks fuzzy when the light shines through as opposed to a clear understanding of what the keys are. This isn’t an issue for me since I don’t really look at the keyboard while typing, so the keys do at least line up correctly, but for my son who looks to type, gets stuck finding the letters he wants.Spotty Wireless Connection – I have to unplug and replug in the USB stick every time I want to use the keyboard. Although my PC recognizes the dongle, the keyboard (not the mouse, because that works oddly enough) doesn’t register until I unplug it and re-plug it in. If I plug in the dongle after the computer is on, then it works fine, but I was intending to use this for a hidden pc in the entertainment room.Inconsistent Keys – For me this is the biggest issue. When typing some keys are missed as if they don’t register my typing. I’ve found that certain keys (A, R, I, M, and B) all require me to push them much further than the other keys to register them as being typed. For someone who types quickly this is not a good option.

Not good as a living room keyboard & mouse.

Two stars because even though my setup may not be a common setup, there are other products that work way better under these circumstances. I can say this, having the keyboard & mouse right next to the computer works well. I just need more than that. I could have lived with fixed rgb colors: each key has 1 color that changes intensity but does not change color, but the performance for my setup is not up to par.I have a large size TV in my living room that we use for almost everything including browsing, Office 365 and watching streaming services, but no gaming. So what I really need is a lap illuminated keyboard, which I have, but only white light. I also enjoy look the RGB lighting gaming keyboards have, so I thought this product would be a cost effective way to have both worlds. The keyb’s USB dongle is at the end of a 8′ USB extension cord connected to my gaming rig (yea too much power for what it is being used for, but I like the speed it has to boot up and operate) behind the wall where the TV hangs. The usb dongle just barely sticks out, hanging from under the TV bottom frame.Keyboard: With full line of sight, it works well for an hour or so, full charge or not, at 10 to 12 feet, with the keyb on my lap and it drops out! The keyboard lights go out, becomes temporarily unresponsive, the lights flash on and off then stabilizes. Sometimes in the middle of that, it starts to repeat a key across the current typing field. Very frustrating. Next, i was building (yes in my living room, my wife already complained for you) an automation panel made of metal plate which interfered with line of sight and neither keyb nor mouse would work. If I raised them both above the metal panel, I would gain control again. So, I moved the hanging USB dongle to the top of the TV and temporarily had it overhang over the top of the TV and presto, working better, but not flawless. Project done, wife happy, area is clear, now typing an all-nighter report with the keyboard on my lap and there it is again, interference! plugged them both, keyb + mouse to USB power and same problems. Frustrated and in a hurry to go to finish the job and go to bed, I switched to my older white light Keyb + mouse setup and voilá! Performance is back, flawless. Went back to toubleshoot this and found that connecting a Hi-speed 3.1 Gen1 usb flash drive to a second USB extension to my rig interferes with the usb connection to the keyb & mouse of this product and not my older keyb & mose setup. Next I left only one usb extension in the cabling path, the one used for this product. Still having connection issues, works but not reliable.Mouse: I use my dark brown couch seat as a mouse pad, that works for short periods of time then stops, regains control and works intermittently. My older mouse works flawless.

Nice lights can’t make up for poor performance. *Edit* Positive Updated Impressions!!!

First off, let’s get to the good before the very bad. Both the keyboard and mouse look great, and the lighting effect looks really good. The devices look and feel sturdy, especially the metal base for the keyboard. The sleep functions for both devices work well, and they can be charged easily with the included USB charge cable or any common cable. However, this wireless combo has some serious problems with lag and feedback. The keyboard sometimes gives out altogether or registers multiple button presses from a single keystroke. It’s annoying. Also vexing is the mouse not responding to multiple button presses then all of a sudden deciding it will work after six or seven taps. This product is too expensive to perform like this, and my old Logitech mouse and keyboard work better. I really wanted to love this set (the rainbow effect is seriously nice and I love the metal base for the keyboard), but the price and performance have forced me to initiate a return. Too bad, really2/4/2020I wrote my earlier review after just receiving the keyboard and mouse using it for a couple of weeks off and on. I’d plugged the small USB wireless receiver that controls the mouse and keyboard directly into the back of my PC, which is right next to my desk and monitor. This setup caused the issues that led to my first negative review. At that point, I’d decided that I was going to send the set back and get a refund. Then, I’d remembered having the exact same issues with other wireless mouse and/or keyboard sets I own from Logitech. That is, “issues” I’d eventually solve. What always helped me out with wireless peripherals with small receivers like the one included in this set was attaching said receiver to a separate Logitech usb dongle that I attached to the back of my PC. This always solved issues with connectivity before, and it has once again solved the issues I was having with this set. I have not returned this set because it is working very well now. I am updating my review to inform anyone of the process of initial negative impressions v.s. eventual satisfaction. With that said, the instructions that come with this set are so incoherent that one is better off simply searching online for similar products and skimming random tech-specific web forums to understand how to best take advantage of this set. The basics are the on/off switches on the keyboard and mouse, gathering a couple of 5volt charge cables, and charging the devices for 5-8 hrs. The mouse will always run out of juice first after about a week and a half of average use. The keyboard runs out in about 3 weeks of average use. Other than those tidbits, the keyboard looks and feels great, and the mouse has a quiet, non-clicky feel to it that takes a little getting used to if one is used to clicky mouse devices. Try looking into getting a separate usb dongle if you’re considering purchasing this set or are having connectivity issues with this or any set like it.

Put this in your list of gaming keyboards choices

I was looking for a gaming keyboard for my little son (he loves his existing RGB keyboard), because his current keyboard is a little too professional for his age (he’s only 5 and his keyboard is >$100). He gets excited some times and will bang on the keys or accidentally spill his drink. I decided that it’s time to get him an inexpensive “colorful” gaming keyboard that is durable and can stand accidental spills. It seems this keyboard and mouse combo is perfect for the requirements. After unboxing, I was stunned at how this keyboard was built. It is built like a tank. The case is made of thick aluminum. The keyboard keys are made of hard plastic. I’m sure this keyboard can withstand little kids’ excitement. The mouse is not bad either, it is elegantly built with nice reflective finish. Out of the box, I have to charge both mouse and keyboard for an hour before testing. I played COD multiplayer, and even though these are wireless, there is no noticeable lag. But I do have a lot of wireless devices at home that may cause interference, so I have to had the USB dongle close to both mouse and keyboard, and it worked fine. So, how does the keyboard feel? This keyboard is pseudo mechanical (not real mechanical), but it feels somewhere right between the Cherry MX Brown and MX Red switches. It has a good tactile feedback, and the clicky sound is very minimal. I wouldn’t mind using this keyboard for competitive gaming, it feels very responsive.Overall, this keyboard looks and feels heavy duty. The lights have not much customization in it, but they look great as it is. It has a high capacity battery, and I’m sure this will last a long time in between charges. If you’re looking for a good gaming KB/mouse combo, you should definitely consider trying this.

Day 3: Keyboard connection sucks, Great mouse tho!

The sleep mode is soooo effective that it will even go to sleep while you are in the middle of using it. The wireless connection is awful as while i’m typing it won’t catch every letter even while typing very slow, and other times it will just turn off. I thought it needing to charge was the issue since it was fresh out the box, so i let it charge for a couple hours and it’s still having the same issue. The mouse works great tho! It’s sad because the keyboard seemed of really good quality and durable too, just doesn’t hold a connection unless it’s directly plugged in to the computer at which it is no longer wireless.

Total Junk. Keyboard keys spotty. Mouse clunky. Getting another keyboard.

When I first opened the box and removed this keyboard, I thought man, this is nice. It’s metal and heavy. I charged it and the mouse and plugged the USB dongle in. The lights looked pretty cool. The keys were stiff and provided good feedback. I didn’t really like the mouse. It is large and didn’t fit my hand. Not comfy and had slick metallic where your right thumb goes so it is slippery where I need to grip it to move it.The mouse would STICK on the screen often. Got worse and I didn’t like the feel, so I put my Logitech back on.Then, after a week, the space key started squeaking. Worse and then started missing key strokes. The lights started going out WAY earlier than 5 minutes. They would actually go out while I was typing. Then I noticed that the light going on and off meant many of my keystrokes were not recognized.I swapped the dongle into another USB. Both times it was directly in my laptop and not on a splitter. It got so bad, I turned it off and on and rebooted. Got better for a minute and then went south again. Now, the junk barely types without multiple misses of keystrokes.I am giving up and getting another keyboard. This thing is the biggest waste of money.

    Great Keyboard – LOUSY instructions

I wore the letters off of my last keyboard, so I decided to invest in a gaming keyboard. I’m under the assumption that they’re made to really last (let’s hope!). And let’s face it, these beasts are GORGEOUS. But if you’re getting the impression that I’m not a gamer, you’d be right. I’m a middle-aged housewife with a thing for backlit neon rainbows, so I thought… why not? Why should the 20-something guys have all the fun?The Good:Pretty. Oh so… so very… So very very very pretty! The photo doesn’t do it justice, but that’s the best my camera could do with the shifting colors. The feel of the keyboard is surprisingly responsive. I expected the keys to be thuddy rather than springy. They are, sort of, but instead of being a bother I actually find that I like the old fashioned “solid” feel of it. This set does not feel like a flimsy piece of plastic that’s designed to break in 3 months.Speed: I type between 80-100 WPM, depending on how cold my office is. I was worried that a keyboard designed for video games wouldn’t be able to keep up with me, but it turns out that speed is no issue with this beast.NeutralIt’s heavy. To get that nice “solid feel” they made the keyboard of metal rather than plastic. The weight is listed, but I didn’t pay any attention to it until it arrived. It’s not so much that it breaks my wrist or strains my keyboard shelf, but it’s certainly hefty enough that it might be featured in one of my upcoming novels (Death by Rainbow, anyone?) I’m assuming it’s this heavy to keep it anchored during rapidfire game play. The bad:NOISY! In fact, the space key is driving me nuts. Every time I hit it, it lets off a sort of random clunk/squeak that’s really obnoxious. Otherwise the keys give off a noise you’d expect from a mechanical keyboard. It’s not suitable if you’re using this in a shared bedroom or any other location where silence is golden. In fact, you might want to invest in noise-cancelling headphones. The instructions are instructions in name only. I’m guessing they are contractually obligated to provide them, but that contract doesn’t specify that they need to make sense. It took me quite a while to figure out how to charge the keyboard – reading the instructions just made it take longer. I thought I knew what they wanted, but when I checked with the information provided it seemed to indicate something else! It was only by ignoring the booklet completely that I was able to get it plugged in correctly. When I finally located the receiver I thought it was really clever. They buried it in the base of the mouse so it won’t get lost. But not knowing that in advance and having gibberish for instructions, I spent quite a while looking for it under the assumption that I somehow dropped it during unboxing. If you’re using this primarily for typing the “enter” key will take some getting used to. The shape is inverted from what I’m used to. Typically “enter” is double-wide on the middle row. Sometimes the key will extend up to the top row in a backwards “L” shape. On this keyboard it’s just the opposite – the “L” shape is inverted so that the narrow part is level with the middle row (location of the “home” keys”). Instead of the double-wide “enter” there’s an extra “slash” key (or “backslash”, if you prefer). All morning I’ve been hitting \\\ every time I want to hit “enter” instead. I’m already getting used to it, but it’s still a bit unexpected. My gripes with this keyboard, overall, are pretty petty. If I can get the “clunk / squeak” spacebar under control the rest of it really isn’t worth mentioning. Overall it’s a dazzling addition to my office and a pleasant surprise for the money. Just… don’t read the instructions. Just… don’t.So I came here, hoping to find some answers. Should you decide to purchase this combo bookmark THIS listing. The instructions here are detailed and make sense, and this is the only place I found them.

It’s a really great keyboard…but it stopped working after constant use.

I’ve had this since February 2020 as part of a new computer built. It’s really awesome. The feel of the keys are way better than my last keyboard which was one of those standard cheap ones. As well as the mechanical feel of the keyboard when you press down on the keys are amazing as well. I was mostly looking for a wireless setup since I do tend to move around my desk alot and having a wire attached stops me from doing that. The mouse is good too. You have the option to change the dpi speed when you need it which is easier then going to your computer settings and finding it through all that chaos. The material that bothel the keyboard and the mouse are made of feels premium, especially the keyboard which has a metal back. And the weight to both also makes it feel premium. I’ve played a couple of games with both and they keep up with my movements. The lights also look amazing when it’s dark and you can see every key. I use this every day almost all day. Having to charge it about three times a week from constant use. You might not have to though of youre not in front of a screen all day. I’d highly recommend this to anyone although, for some reason the keyboard stopped wanting to charge, so I’ve been having to keep the cord on now because of that. I don’t know why it happened, I just turned on my PC one day and the keyboard wouldn’t turn unless it’s plugged. The mouse is completely fine and works perfectly still. I don’t know of anywayone else has had this problem but it does ruined my whole free from wires approach.

Half decent keyboard, mice is good

This is a first impression review as I just started using this keyboard and mouse combo. This is also the first time using a mechanical like keyboard. It is not a true mechanical keyboard. The keyboard and mouse were well packaged. My keyboard was shipped with the power button on, but it was still charged. I couldn’t get the keyboard to light up until I connected the USB Receiver to the computer. It lit up and worked without any interaction from me. So that was good and the same as any other wireless keyboard and mouse combo I’ve ever used. The keyboard is a little bulky. I was using a Logitech MK520 wireless keyboard before this one and this one is a good half inch to three quarters of an inch taller. Probably not the most ergonomic keyboard. My desk has a shelf for the keyboard and mouse. Using the keyboard will strain my wrists if I don’t rest my hands on the shelf, which I am not used to doing, but it is working out okay. The keyboard does not have any Media Keys, which is a bummer. My Logitech had buttons for Pause, Forward, Back, Volume Up and Down and Mute. I use those keys a lot, so it will be a big change. It may actually be a game changer for this keyboard. We’ll see how it goes when I start to use Media Players. There also is no way that I can find that indicates when the Keyboard is fully charged. I guess I’ll just let it charge for 12 hours and hope that’s enough. The backlighting is nice and is the main reason I bought the combo. I would prefer the option for a single color, but it that’s not a huge deal. I mostly wanted the backlighting to better see the keys as the keyboard usually sits halfway under the desk on the keyboard shelf. The keys are hard to see though when the backlight is off, which isn’t a huge deal since the lights come on with the first key stroke. For me, the phone holder is useless since I have a keyboard shelf under the desk, but I don’t think my Pixel 3 XL would fit with the Otterbox Defender case on it. However, if my phone did fit and I didn’t have the keyboard shelf, I think it would be very handy to have the phone right there to check notifications. The Cigarette Lighter slot seems odd, seriously, people still smoke?I like the mouse. It fits well in my hand. It is so quiet, I love it. My previous mouse was a Logitech M310 and it was annoyingly loud. Great mouse, but too noisy. On the Mamba mouse, the scroll wheel is actually louder than the button clicks. The wheel isn’t loud though, just barely audible for me. The forward and back buttons on the mouse are great to have and they are well placed. I haven’t messed with the DPI setting, but since there isn’t anyway to know which setting it is on, I’m not sure I will use it. I am not a gamer, so not all that important.I am not a gamer, so lag isn’t a huge deal, but I have noticed a little lag with the mouse. I haven’t noticed any yet with the keyboard. It could be interference, since the USB receiver is not far from my wireless router. I currently have it plugged into a USB hub. I may end up moving it in to one of the laptop’s USB ports since that is further from the router if the lag gets to be too annoying. All and all, I like typing on the keyboard. I’m not sure how it will effect my wrists long term, it will take a long time for me to get use to keeping my wrists on the keyboard’s shelf. I like the mouse and as long as the lag is from interference, which I can fix, I will be happy with it.I really wish the keyboard had hot keys for Media players. According to an answer from the Seller in the Q&A section, the FN Key + F8 will bring up media controls, but it doesn’t work for me. The instructions say to use FN+ Page Up/Down to control the brightness of the backlighting. I found that FN + Up/Down arrow actually controls the brightness.
