    High Quality Keyboard

I love this keyboard. It is a better version of my Redragon K561 Visnu since it uses the same Outemu mechanical blue switches, same RGB colors/animations with the same easy controls, but now it includes easy to program macro keys, some short cut keys, and a number pad. Everything on this keyboard worked perfectly out of the box without an issue. Along with the keyboard and the usual key cap puller, Redragon now included a switch puller and a box of replacement switches. This box contains two Outemu blue, red, brown, and black switches. The two issues I had with this keyboard were the fact that the G5 macro key had a failed led right out of the box and that the G1 key was improperly molded. The bad led didn’t bother me, but the bad key did. The insides of the G1 key were solid between the shell and the inside section. I needed to file and cut it for a while before it would fit in its slot and operate. Now that it is operational, the only issue is that the key wont stay tight in its slot if one were to pull up on it. Also, with a close inspection, it sits higher up than the other macro keys because I couldn’t file deep enough into it to make it perfect. I feel like this is just a defect that slipped past testing, so don’t let that be a deterrent from buying this keyboard. It is well crafted and worth every penny for anyone looking into a full size keyboard with great led functionality and macro features.

An excellent keyboard, until it broke.

I’m a software developer, not a gamer. This is my first mechanical keyboard, and it’s awesome! The keys are crisp and satisfying. The colors are fun (though the software to change them is glitchy as hell). And I like the volume control wheel. The front of the keyboard is metal, including the audio wheel. The keys and back are plastic, but don’t feel cheap. The cord is solid. You should consider this keyboard.A few complaints:The ‘a’ key is temperamental; it doesn’t work sometimes. I’ve haven’t replaced the switch, but am on the fence about returning the keyboard over it. Shipping is a hassle. The macro keys can only be done via the keyboard; the software won’t do save them. I use the keyboard to dock my Alienware laptop, which also has macro keys. Not only do the macro keys on the keyboard not correspond to those on the laptop, but the macros on the laptop won’t work unless I remove the mechanical keyboard s a device, even when the keyboard is unplugged. This is super frustrating!*Edit: This keyboard lasted for less than a year. Customer support replaced it after trying to troubleshoot it for over two weeks. If the replacement lasts for another year, I’ll be satisfied.*

Finally A Slimmer Macro + Media Gaming Keyboard!

The Vata is truly a keyboard that has all of the features I needed to game and work. The “on the fly” macro recording is great for work and is incredibly useful. The software downloaded from redragon’s site is simple and very useful to reconfigure any key or set macros.I did not buy the keyboard for the RGB functionality but it is a great touch to be able to match your color scheme with other equipment.Pros:1. Outemu blue keys: they are light to type on and very loud and clacky. I put clear dampening o rings on them but it made no different since the outemu switches are slightly different than cherry switches.2. Dedicated media keys: I love being able to change songs on VLC / Winamp / Windows Media Player.3. Macros: You can use the default G1 – G5 to record or use the software to set any key to be recorded. The customer support was great in helping me understand this before I purchased this keyboard. I was not able to find any review that mentioned this.4. RGB: Seems like there are tons of customization options.5. Side RGB: I turn it off but it does help light up my mouse-pad slightly at night.6. Volume wheel can be used as a LED brightness wheel!7. Slim: This keyboard sits a little bit lower than my other mechanical keyboards which I love.Cons:1. Removable switches basically break the switches and I suggest avoiding this feature. I think it is great that they ship a few different switches to let us swap however the plastic housing on these outemu switches is too fragile. I was able to swap out a few switches to browns however I broke the default installed switch housing using their guide and the tool correctly. Good thing they provided extra blue switches I could use in the future.2. Media keys stay lit even when computer is turned off.Overall I highly recommend this keyboard. It has everything the major brands offer in a slimmer lower profile for half the price!

    Best value ever!

I ordered this keyboard because I spilled coffee all over my Corsair C 70 and fried it. This one looked like it had even more features than the Corsair, and at a much better price. I was a little reluctant to try Outemu blue switches compared to Cherry MX, fearing that they would be “off brand” and inferior in some way. But they are better! The “click” is slightly louder and more satisfying. The activation force is perfect, with better clicky feedback that the key has been depressed. Some people feel that the switches are too clicky. But, if you are ordering blue switches, that’s what you want! It’s like ordering the hottest hot sauce and then complaining that it’s too hot. Typing on this keyboard is the best typing experience I have had since the original IBM keyboard. The keyboard itelf also feels equally high quality compared to Corsair, but at half the price. Aluminum body and solid plastic keys. Excellent volume rocker that doubles as a brightness control for the keys. Multiple LED colors and patterns, including user-definable. Five macro keys. I would recommend this keyboard very highly.Pros:Much better price than the competition with equal build qualityOutemu blue switches, which I found to be actually superior to Cherry MXCool color patterns with the LEDS, and adjustable patterns and brightnessMacro keysSwitches are replaceable, and comes with some replacement switches, in case one dies (assorted colors too, so you can “try out” other switch colors)Cons:No USB passthrough, which I have never used with the Corsair, since it is in the top edge and inaccessible anyway if you have your keyboard in an under-desk slider

Redragon K580 Pro wins in Bloody B975 comparison

Hi, all,You’re in luck – you get a two-fer. Below is my comparison of two keyboards including why I picked the Redragon K580 Pro.Redragon K580 ProPros:- solid keyboard – clearly well constructed- numerous pre-installed LED patterns, which was important to me, as I don’t want yet another piece of software running on my PC- keys felt light, but not cheap – I probably would have preferred linear (rather than tactile) keys, but their linear keys are apparently loud – i.e. for me a quiet key was more important than linear- quiet keys, as mentioned above- low cost – I got mine for $69 versus $99 for the BloodyCons:- have to use Outemu switches, even though Outemu are supposedly swappable for Cherry MX’s in other keyboards.- 1 year warranty versus 3 for Bloody- menu key on lower right gets triggered inadvertently and causes a context menu to pop up right in the middle of typing. While I’d like to think this is just because of my typing style, I doubt it. This may be because these tactile switches sit a little higher than their linear counterparts.- While there are several video reviews of the K580, I could find none of the K580 Pro with optical brown switches. In general, finding any details for the Outemu optical brown switches is tough.Bloody B975Pros:- keys/switches are undoubtedly lighter/quicker- switches are supposedly swappable for Cherry MX’s- comes with extras like hand rest and keycaps where the Redragon does not- a bit smaller than the K580 Pro – see picture- plenty of reviews (including video)Cons:- keys are too clackity/loud for me. However, some prefer this.- keys felt cheaper/flimsier- more expensive- not as many built-in LED light programs, and I wasn’t thrilled with the ones that were built in- response to questions not as quick as Redragon – Redragon got back within a day (over the weekend). I’m still waiting on a Bloody request from 3 days ago.BTW – The brown switches on this Bloody keyboard are linear, not tactile like Outemu/Cherry browns. The main reasons I choose the Redragon is because it is noticeably quieter and noticeably cheaper. I performed numerous typing tests and both came out about the same. Likewise for gaming – neither stood out as being clearly better for the FPS games I typically play.I hope this helps you decide.

    Great entry-level mechanical keybaord

Not only is this one of the most affordable RGB mechanical keyboards out there, it comes with samples of the various cherry MX switches that you can use to swap out to figure out which switches suit you best. I wound up using the included samples of brown, black and red switches to drive keys used in gaming so as to keep noise down at night. While this board would be a steal without it, the key pulling kit leaves much to be desired and I wound up damaging some of the switches that were pulled. Blue switches are likely why this board is priced so low as the clicky sounds make late-night typing sessions a bit of a problem. I like the switches but the noise can be a bit annoying outside of daylight hours. The built-in lighting and macro functions are a nice change of pace from my last keyboard that required software to run. In addition to the 18 built-in light patterns, you can also create user profiles and modify several characteristics of the built-in modes using simple shortcut keys on the board itself.I’m glad that I finally tried out a mechanical keyboard and will absolutely buy from Redragon again when this one wears out. I cannot speak to the durability, but as a beer drinker and late-night gamer, I’m sure it won’t be long before that gets put to the test.

Amazing Value and Quality, Feels like any other High End Keyboard out there!

Full disclosure: I returned this keyboard because I did not like the blue mechanical switches. I never realized how clicky and loud those are until I owned one.The only knock I have against this product is that it is not available with different switches. I ended up getting a Corsair keyboard with Cherry MX Browns, which have the tactility of the Blues, but with more quiet operation. In my opinion, this Reddragon keyboard is every bit as good as the pricey “high end” Corsair keyboards. It has a really solid feeling chassis. The feet have good grip and don’t slide easily on my desk. The keyboard software is more user friendly than Corsair’s CUE application. The RGB lighting is beautiful and adjustable to your liking. The RGB light strips on the sides are a very nice touch. The media and volume controls are all there and work properly in Windows, which is a requirement for any keyboard I buy.If you like Cherry MX Blue switches, I see no reason to spend more money on a Corsair. The quality feels the same to me.Reddragon also include four different switch types in the box with two of each; Red, Blue, Black, Brown. So, I know Reddragon have brown switches they can use. If anyone from that company is reading this, please offer this keyboard with Brown switches in the future. I would happily purchase your product again and recommend it to others.

Great keyboard but software is just okay

I love this keyboard! I don’t love its utility software though. The tactile feedback of the key press is great. This keyboard comes with blue switches installed so it is a little bit noisy when typing but should only be noticeable by people in the same room. The key caps and the switches are replaceable so you could purchase red, brown or black switches and replace the blue switches that it comes with. The keyboard does come with both a key cap and switch puller tool and a few replacements switches (2 blue, 2 red, 2 brown & 2 black) so you could put the 2 red switches under the 2 keys that you use the most in your games and at least quite down the constant striking of those keys. The footprint of this keyboard is sort of small for a full sized keyboard. The side and bottom margins are very small which makes for possibly the smallest footprint I have ever had for a full sized keyboard. That is great as far as getting back desktop real estate and I greatly appreciate how much more room I have on my desktop now but the keyboard also doesn’t have a wrist rest and you may want to get one since resting your wrist directly on your desktop and typing any long document will strain your wrists. The keyboard is mainly made of high impact ABS plastic and it feels thick and sturdy. The strike plate under the keys is a single sheet of metal and it gives the keyboard a bit of weight. The lighting is what really makes this keyboard great though. The brightness is adjustable but you can get it pretty bright if you turn it all the way up. Every single key can be assigned its own color with their keyboard utility and I do mean….an individual color for every single key, not just zone coloring.I still color by groups or zones but it is really nice to have the ability to define your own group/zone by coloring only those keys you want in a group/zone all the same color. The keyboard has too many predefined color schemes to list but they are all good with the one titled “Go with the stream” being my favorite when I am not playing a game but just want the keyboard to look pretty. As with all Redragon mice and keyboards though, their software leaves things to be desired and is just okay at best. They need to up their game with the utilities they provide to program their mice and keyboards. While the keyboard utility is okay and fairly simple to use once you figure it out, the lack of better documentation and better functionality within their software makes their current utilities just okay and nothing to get excited about. If you are not a serious hardcore gamer the utility software probably will be just fine for your use. Serious hardcore gamer’s most likely will find the software lacking and will be disappointed by the software itself but the keyboard is great. Especially considering it is about half the price of the big name brand gaming keyboards.

Nice Mechanical Blue Switch Keyboard with RGB (Per Key) Lighting

This review is for the Redragon K580 VATA Keyboard.I’m a moderate gamer and I work from home, in a “call center” environment. So I needed a keyboard that could take heavy use. Logitech and Corsair have both failed me in recent years, so after a bit (I.E. hours and hours, leading into weeks!) of video reviews, I figured I’d give this “off brand” a try, since the big names are now just resting on their names and churning out crap products at insane prices. The Road to this keyboard:For years I have trusted Logitech as my go to company for computer peripherals. However, their gaming line up in mechanical switch types leaves a LOT to be desired, so I tried the Corsair K95 RGB Platinum (purchase date July 30, 2019 https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-PLATINUM-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B01MS0I1ZK). Within days of receiving that keyboard the light behind the “C” key started to dim as time went on other keys started to dim, some going almost completely out. Since this was a gift from one of my daughters I kept using the board and trying all the “fixes” Corsair jokingly has on their forums. None have worked, and not even a year later I’m hunting for a replacement to a $200 “premium” keyboard.I needed one that I could replace parts on it (just in case, since I’m not a DIY, fan but will DIY if need be). Deidicated volume rocker, per key lighting, software to allow me to set the lights for working vs gaming (clean one color for working). These requirements alone knocked all the big names out of the running. This lead to two keyboards, the TECWARE Spectre Pro Keyboard (sadly not available in the USA yet) and this one. Both had what I was looking for, but the Spectre Pro is more stylish and has a detachable cable, but since it is not available here, the Redragon VATA won.The Review:I’m not much for the unboxing thing, but ya, it came in a box and I took it out of said box. It has extra switches, a key puller and switch puller too. It has survived a month of gaming and working so far. Games include Rust, Conan Exiles and Rocket League to name a few. Working includes at least 10 8 hours sifts of non-stop calls and typing in customer responses, queries, fixes, etc. The rest of the month were normal shifts of mainly 10 calls per hour. This keyboard shows zero signs of wear yet and I have come to trust it!Pros:* Sturdy with almost zero key wiggle.* Lighting is more than bright enough to see colors in full sunlight.* Volume rocker has tactile response when turning it so one can feel how many “clicks” (bumps?) they are going up or down.* Heavy enough to stay in place (on large mouse/keyboard pad), with zero sliding.* Full size, but small footprint (no extra crap added for the hell of it, wasting space!)Pro/Cons:* No USB pass through. I see this as a pro since I have 3.0 USB hubs to handle other peripherals, but some people are still stuck in the last decade I guess and might see this as a con.Cons:* Attached cord.* Metal “twang” sound when bottoming out the keys. After the first night of use I don’t notice it anymore, unless I try to hear it.In conclusion, I’d say so far so good and have already started looking at Redragon first for other items I might need (Free hint: Wireless headsets would be a nice addition to your line up!).

RGB MX Brown Keyboard On A Budget

I want to say this is a great keyboard on a budget but honestly, this keyboard is just a great keyboard period! The quality of this keyboard is so far above and beyond what I expected for this price.Typing on this keyboard feels so good. I can’t state that enough. For someone that didn’t like the loud clicky-ness of the blue switches and didn’t quite like how easy it was to push down the keys on the red switches these brown switches are PERFECT. Cannot recommend enough if you are like me.The keycaps and switches were great quality, but I personally wanted to switch it out with some white keycaps to match my white case so that is why it looks different in the pictures. Overall though they don’t smudge easily and feel like good quality caps. Volume nob is a nice addition and works as intended!RGB on this keyboard looks great, and is fairly easy to mess with using the “fn” key and the buttons above the arrows. However, I was a little disappointed to find out that there is no real functional RGB software for this board so any colors you want to do will have to be through the provided options in the RGB setup on the actual board. The side RGB lights are a nice touch as well. Don’t really do anything, but they look pretty and that’s all you can ask for right? Only real complaint on the RGB is that the white color is more like a white-ish pink. Other than that every other color looks great.Overall, it’s hard to go wrong with this board for the price! Don’t overpay for a Razer/Corsair/etc board when RedDragon makes a really great keyboard for a fraction of the price!
