Redragon Impact RGB LED MMO Mouse

The mouse came in a sturdy plastic box with a snap seal on each side, making it resealable for transport if needed.Pros:The mouse has a good shape to rest your hand on for long usage. The attached cord is rather long at almost 6 feet. RGB lighting is customizable with the Red Dragon Software. It has the typical solid color pattern as well as several other patterned lighting effects such as breathing and wave patterns. DPI settings are very customizable with multiple cycles of usage. This is done by presetting the DPI profiles using the software and can be changed by using the top buttons below the scroll wheel. Also this mouse has a rapid fire button next to the left click mouse button. The mouse has 12 hotkey buttons on the left side of the mouse that are programmable with the software. These buttons are slightly tilted the opposite direction for each row. This makes it a lot easier to tell which button you are pushing without needing to look at it.Cons:Not so much of a con … the mouse has a covered compartment on the button of the mouse to put in or remove weights which is a nice extra feature most mice don’t have, however I would have liked it to be a bit heavier with all of the weights added.Overall I particularly enjoy the mouse.

Does almost everything I thought it was designed for..

I bought this mouse for the DPI options, the MACROS and the number buttons which u can reach by thumb. The wide design keeps my hand from adding friction while gliding across the mouse-pad, and the weights improve accuracy.HOWEVER – the software you can install for this mouse is not very user friendly. There are some options the mouse doesn’t have and SHOULD have, i.e. effectively changing button layout / key-bindings with the extra key when switching for example from RPG to FPS. Instead you can only change to the next color profile, in order, and may not land you on the desired mode. The MACRO is my least favorite. If you try to use a macro for ANY mouse actions, the mouse may or may not perform the action as you desire.Rapid fire for example: Works for some games, not all. even though all games it should work for assuming you can tap the shooting button really fast.. Any mouse macro prevents you from doing any other mouse action. if you “rapid fire macro”, say goodbye to aiming down the sights. Right mouse button stops functioning, movement stops, whole sha-bang. So not only is it already difficult to set UP the macro, it doesn’t even work. Have yet to hear back from their support team in regards to the issue, and would rather have a different mouse for that drawback alone.Edit: I’ve attached a video of my experience. Red dragon was kind enough to cater to my needs after my initial review, but the issue appears to lie within either the mouse design or the software provided, in terms of the MACRO only.Edit 2: I decided to use a second software called “The Fastest Mouse Clicker for Windows” and map an unused button like forward slash to my 4th mouse key, ranging CPS between 30 (recognizable) and 100,000 (insane and generally not picked up by many games or software) This way, I can get many clicks per second (rapid fire) for left click, right click or mouse middle-button without my mouse suddenly deactivating.

    Initial thoughts – returned

Been using it now for about 15 minutes and so far, it works. It’s a mouse. It has a pinky rest. My biggest complaint so far is the pinky rest is a glossy type of finish, and my ring finger and pink get sticky with a little sweat as I use it. Should have been a matte finish. Otherwise, to those complaining about not being able to find the software for the M908, I did a google search, found it, installed it in 5 minutes. Some people’s macaroni just isn’t fully cooked. Will update as time progresses.*Update* Using for a couple hours now, this mouse has grated on my nerves enough to warrant a return. Not because it’s faulty or defective, but because of a couple of design choices I just can’t agree with.Operation is smooth and functional – this much works. Software is pretty much rebranded software from another company I’ve used previously, it has the exact same layout and look. Within 5 minutes of plugging in this mouse and getting windows up and running I was able to download software for this specific model, and update the firmware. What I do NOT like about this mouse, is that it’s a somewhat “halfway” mouse, halfway between almost big enough and not quite big enough due to the design of the pinky rest. I had to turn the mouse unnaturally to the radial aspect of my forearm to get my fingers to rest completely on it, and holding that position (my grip naturally defaulted to this without conscious thought) caused my forearm to eventually begin to tense. I had to put forth conscious effort to hold this mouse as intended, straight vertically. After gradually working my way back to the unnatural grip, this put the side buttons out of comfortable reach. I believe if the clicker end of the mouse was wider instead of the back end of it jutting out for the side finger rest, it would be much more natural and bearable to use. This rear-end jutting also was counterproductive to the smaller space i have available for my mouse, and often ran up over the side of my keyboard tray, which then presented tracking issues because the mouse was no longer seated flat on the pad. If you have a larger space than I do, this will be a non-issue.The second problem I have is the use of the glossy type plastic on the sides for the finger rests and side buttons. My fingers started sweating quickly and it results in a very unpleasant wet grip and incessant finger wiping on my pants. Not everyone will have these troubles that I did, some may prefer the gloss, and not everyone will experience finger sweat, and some smaller hands may be very comfortable with the “halfway” style this mouse has. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work for me. I’m returning this and replacing it with the Utechsmart Venus that I had been using the past 21 months until the middle clicker went out on it (which I actually use a LOT) and the left click started double clicking sporadically. All in all, the Venus doesn’t have the extra pinky rest and I just let my pinky rest partially on the side of the mouse and the mouse pad, and move it as I move the mouse. I also use a bit more of a claw grip while holding my mouses, the pinky rest might be more useful if you do not, and the finish on the one I purchased is matte all over.Overall this isn’t a bad mouse, just the differences between the fit in my hand, and the sweaty plastic grip I experienced would keep me from purchasing again. Should these bits get updated in the future, I would definitely consider buying again.

    Great Mouse!

Exactly as advertised. I checked out its competition at other retail outlets before buying this one. The Redragon feels more substantial then the name brands. I personally prefer the layout of the Redragon as well. The Redragon has aa contoured pattern to the side buttons that makes it easy to hit the right button. The button manager is easy to use, with separate profiles easy to access and set up. I whole heartedly recommend it.

Was expecting a bit more coming from the M901

I think I was one of the first few who purchase a Redragon M901 when they first became available. I used it for like two years. It was a nice mouse for the price. I especially liked the matte finish. However, like all things it failed one day. The dedicated FIRE button no longer worked. I was not happy as it is my browser-back and my “launch mount” button in WoW.Instead of buying a new M901 I decided to “upgrade” to the M908. Mistake on my part for not reading the description close enough, and on Redragon for making a worse mouse then the M901 in terms of programability. The M908 is a shiny, slick surface. The M901 is a wonderful matte surface. For me this is a big issue as I have very sweaty hands and the M908 get too slippery to comfortably play with on warm days. The M901 was more prone to be a bit more dirty and needed to be cleaned off more frequently in my case. At least I could use it without having sweat making it more slick. I take responsibility for not looking up the surface differences. But the killer is that the “fire button” on the M908 can be programmed outside most applications to the built in functions of the software. But to use it in a game such as WoW, the “fire” button only will map to the “1” key. Also, if you set the “fire” button to something like “browser back” you cannot map it to anything in game. The software with the M901 had no issues in software programming the “fire” button. I have lived with it, but a bit disappointed.

Great Mouse not even just for the cheaper price.

Ok so i got this mouse because i was looking for something I that i could play pc games that required a lot of keybinds. I wasnt sure what to expect exactly. I mean it is a budget mouse. So the mouse arrived within two days which i was surprised to see. I opened it up and the mouse looked amazing. picking it up feels even better. I was expecting t to not fit my hand right because its so big and my hand is the opposite but it fit like a charm. it has a very comftorable coated plastic on the top of it, and it feels very good on your hands. the RGB’s are also amazing with a wide variety of colors to change from, and customizable options too. The buttons everywhere except the side have a VERY nice click feel and sound to them. The mouse also has a comftorable thumb rest which is VERY convienent, and it has pinky and ring finger support which is very nice. moving the sides of the mouse. It definetly has a cheaper plastic that gains more fngerprints, but personally i dont mind. The 12 side buttons are harder to click than the top and require more force, while the top buttons require minimal force to click them. All in all, i would reccomend this mouse to someone looking for a nice budget quality mouse!
