UPDATE: I’m cautiously restoring one star after my friend managed to (at least so far) free the jammed NES slot flap without touching anything else, using a dental mirror with a LED on it and some model building tweezers. While unplugged, of course!*Heads up, there appears to have been some internal flashing (manufacturing snafu) that snagged the flap.If it doesn’t just get jammed again and no other problems arise, I’m happy enough to leave it at 4 stars. Guess we’ll see how it goes from here.Retro-Bit Retro Duo Twin Video Game System NES and SNES V3.0Firstly, I’d like to say how glad I am that this exists at all. I babied an original NES console along until a few years ago, then was disappointed by the recent NES mini because so few of my personal favorites were in its selection. I kept my old cartridges, though, and now I’m happy that I did!That said, the stars knocked off are for abysmally bad manufacturing quality. One of the plastic flaps protecting the NES cartridge slot jammed irretrievably (without doing something risky) the first time it was pushed open. It wasn’t even under any particular amount of pressure (the cartridge had not yet touched the contacts), it just opened and then wouldn’t close again, in spite of the spring still visibly in place. It seems to be caught on something internal, I can’t tell what*, and seems determined never to budge again.Since I sincerely doubt replacing the unit wouldn’t be gambling with issues with the replacement, and it works otherwise, I’m going to dustcover the slot when it’s not in use and keep it… unless something else breaks.The reason I’d rather not try my luck on an exchange is, that’s not feeling like an outside chance “unless”. The reviews describing this unit as “cheaply made” and similar are, if anything, understating the case. Its plastic parts feel so fragile that switching cartridges is a horribly cringey affair, with me silently pleading not to hear a crackle or a crunch. Having part of it break on minute one sure didn’t help my confidence in its quality and sturdiness.I’m glad this exists, but I sure hope its electronic components and controllers hold up better than that flap did. Good grief.

This things is seriously great! I bought this for my wife on Valentine’s day because she’s always loved playing Super Mario World on their families game console. I had been looking up some vintage systems that were going to cost over $100 to purchase, and not all of them even looked to be in that good of shape. So I was happily surprised to see this system that could play BOTH NES and SNES! Since we plugged it in it’s worked flawlessly with the games we’ve played (Mario World, Donkey Kong). Honestly save yourself $60+ and get this system instead of an old possibly damaged machine. Great buy!*** I really used this product and will continue to do so unless a flaw comes about in an untimely manner at which point, I will update my review and post pictures (if possible) with the problem. This is the greatest Retro System you’ll ever own! I love the Controller so much! It’s very comfortable in the hand and the cord is long enough so you won’t have to worry about it being too short. I’m playing my Reproduction Cartridges of the Fire Emblem series and Final Fantasy games and those work like real SNES games. I haven’t tried NES games yet but I will one day. If you an old school retro gamer do not miss out on this Fantastic system, RetroDuo!!

Just got it in today and it works well. It does do that old school force play with th slot thing, but other than that it plays smooth. Works well with my Samsung t.v 32 inch.

Works great with 500 in 1 cartridge commonly found on eBay.Great value to play your games and keep the collectible NES in the box.
