    Significant Back light Bleeding

I was excited to upgrade from a 5 year old 27″ (1080p) Dell monitor to this 1440p ultrasharp and my initial impression was positive because I liked the aesthetic of the monitor. It had a very thin bezel, which was nice since I was using it as a second display for my 5k iMac, but once I turned it on I noticed a glare that I couldn’t shake no matter how dark I made my office. I switched my desktop background to black and noticed significant back light bleeding in each of the four corners. It was much more than I have experienced with any of the previous Dell monitors I have owned. After reading other reviews I didn’t want to even bother replacing this one. I simply returned it for a refund and will be looking for another monitor.

    Perfect for equities trading

Needed a monitor specifically for displaying candlestick chart patterns when option trading and a dedicated stackoverflow query screen. The required monitor had to be in the vertical orientation and had to have good viewing angles so decided to go with this monitor since it was IPS, 1440p, and 27 inch. Sadly picked it up when it was $380. If you can get it for cheaper, highly recommended. Not sure how good this monitor is for games (that’s what the other monitors in the picture are for) but if you need a monitor for productivity or displaying information, this monitor is very good.

    Great for programming / text

This is exactly the monitor that I wanted. I first bought a Samsung 27 inch 1080 monitor for half the price of this monitor, but had to return due to text being too blurry (would have given me a headache). I also had to spend 10 minutes adjusting the color. But everything was perfect with this monitor right out of the box – extremely easy setup, no color adjustment needed (see pic), and clear text for programming. It looks sleek too. I appreciate that the stand is fully adjustable too.I do not game at all but for WFH this monitor is great!

Great workstation monitor when there are no defects

I decided to buy this monitor because it is a 60 Hz 27 inch 1440p IPS monitor. I am using the monitor for a workstation, so refresh rate is not a huge factor to me. I like the monitor’s aesthetics and the thin bezels. There is also a 3 year warranty for the monitors. I have also heard Dell has a reputation for good monitors.I bought 1 monitor and used it for a month. The colors look great and there is no backlight bleeding. I noticed there are a couple of dead pixels in the lower left hand corner. I would have exchanged it with Amazon, but I noticed it too late. This taught me to always unpack and immediately check for dead pixels after purchasing a monitor, so I can exchange with Amazon.I decided to buy 2 more monitors because I have two more video outputs on my graphics card. I bought 2 more of the monitors for consistency. Both of the monitors I bought had defects. One had a dead pixel and the other had visible damage on the monitor. I exchanged both with Amazon. One replacement came back perfect and the other had visible damage on the monitor. I exchanged the damaged monitor again with Amazon and its replacement had visible damage on it. I might try to use the warranty to replace this damage monitor.tldr; 6 monitors, 1 with no defects, needs better QA

Awful Image Retention with Mac Mini

Very disappointed, and definitely the last Dell product I’ll ever own. I purchased two of these monitors on recommendation, to run with my work PC and also my new M1 Mac Mini. Upon unboxing and setup the monitors look great, but after only 20 minutes of using photoshop on my Mac, I was left with HORRIBLE screen retention (see image attached, looks like burn in). I tested on the second monitor and after 10 minutes of photoshop left on screen, same issue with that monitor. It goes away over time but this is extremely ugly as someone who’s trying to design I can’t have images burned into my screen every 10 minutes. Using HDMI to HDMI and USB-c to Mini display rendered the same result, therefore not a cable issue. Tested the Mac Mini with my HP work monitors (HDMI) and no issues at all. After some reading it seems this is a hit or miss Dell issue with Macs. Pretty pathetic. Monitors are being returned now.

    Horrible QC

I purchased this monitor new, with a price of $411.72 out the door. For this price, I received a brand new Dell Ultrasharp monitor which had egregious backlight bleed (It’s the monitor to the far right in the picture, on the left is a 5-year-old Korean 1440p monitor, and in the center is the excellent LG 27GL83A-B), 2 dead pixels, and 5 stuck pixels.Obviously shocked I ordered a replacement from Amazon. That arrived two days later, brand new, with a broken screen and a manufacturer date nearly a year ago. I would totally avoid this monitor at this point. The LG 27GL83A-B is cheaper, 144hz, and also very color acurate and arrived with no defects.
