Great Keyboard at a great value!

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.

This keyboard is the best price/value imo on the market rn. I was skeptical at first cause it seemed fairly new and un-reviewed yet, but I have used Drevo products before and they never disappoint. I needed a new mechanical keyboard that had RGB lighting, but that was compact cause my desk is a bit smaller. This one fit the bill perfectly, even in its compact form, typing feels nice and all the alternative key functions that I need are there.I also tested this on gaming, and it was great there as well. Played some league of legends and starcraft 2. In both games the keyboard was responsive and felt great to game on. I also really like all the lighting options, i especially like the pulsing color animation. A nice touch as well that there is some lighting on the bottom too, to give the keyboard that shadow effect.I posted some pics and a short unboxing video with some key typing to give you guys a feel of what its like in person. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and am excited to continue gaming with this keyboard!

overall decent keyboard for $45 (outemu) – spacebar stabs not too good

update (october 24th):I’ve been using it regularly and would now definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the compact size of a 60-70% keyboard. I still would say get a different set of keycaps, but try them for yourselves to see if you don’t mind them first. I switched to a PBT set and have been enjoying it. The keyboard’s spacebar is still annoying and hurts my ears from the high pitched ping (I’m sure this can be fixed with mods, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet). Definitely a great bang for buck keyboard if you NEED dedicated arrow keys. The bottom row is standard, too.. so 3rd party keycaps aren’t an issue (this is a huge plus for me). However.. if you DON’T need dedicated arrow keys.. I would suggest just getting a regular 60% like one of the Gateron Optical keyboards that go for 50$update: after using softwares from other companies, such as Geek GK61’s software.. I’ve come to appreciate Drevo’s software for what it can do. I did state, in the original review, that it was disappointing that I couldn’t change the fn key to another key, but that’s just a small nit-pick. I appreciate a company that translates their software to full english and actually makes it available on an official site.UPDATE: after using the keycaps for a while.. I’ve concluded that they’re pretty gross imo. The FONT IS GOOD.. the RGB shine-through is FINE.. BUT.. I personally hate the texture they used. I am the type of person that doesn’t eat while using their things.. I wash my hands like 30 times a day. I hate oils or the feeling of oils on my hands/fingers. These keycaps feel… “yucky” to me.. like the texture is just gross. I don’t really know how to explain it. But if you’re the type of person who doesn’t really care about the things I just mentioned.. you’ll probably be fine with it. If you’re someone who is sensitive to different textures.. then either have another set of keycaps ready or pass on this keyboard.ALso, just another reminder that this keyboard’s spacebar stabs are ear piercing.. I’ve never used such a terrible spacebar stabilizer.Update:: Received the replacement keyboard and there is 0 wobble. I rate this keyboard 4.5/5 stars now… I still think they need to include more information in the manual about the hot keys and what certain things on the keyboard mean and do. The fact that you can reprogram almost anything on the default later is pretty awesome at this price point. Again, the only trouble I had was reprogramming the Fn key to something else which is a huge let down.I think it’s amazing that a keyboard in this price range will allow you to reprogram keys on the default layer (with the software) and have it be saved w/o needing the software afterwards. I WISH drevo also allowed adding/changing key functions on the Fn layer, as well…I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who wouldn’t be bothered by a terribly high pingy spacebar or someone who is willing to mod/lube the spacebar.—————– initial review below ——-I went with Outemu switches.. red. The packaging is very nice and inclusion of a dust cover is VERY pleasing. Mine was cracked at the corner, but not a HUGE deal. ( the dust cover that came with my replacement keyboard has 0 cracks which is good ) Woulda been nice to get a thicker plastic with the dust cover, but it’s MUCH better than the dust cover that came with my gmmk compact.Pros:- The brightness of the lights seems to be just fine.- The keycaps don’t bleed light on other areas of the surface which is very nice.- Surprisingly the side RGB decor is really pleasing to look at.- The instructions are very clear, but see ‘cons.’- The keycaps have perfect font, imo. No gaudy gamer font..just nice thick regular looking font that allows a lot of the RGB light to come through. They’re ABS and very slipper… I prefer PBT keycaps with texture, but you buy this knowing all that so. I have noticed that if you get sweaty hands while gaming, that the keycaps do sorta give you a grippy feeling which is surprising.- The case, while plastic, seems very sturdy and feels A LOT better than the cheap crap Ducky uses on their one 2 mini. I like the one 2 mini, but the plastic case is complete garbage. Although, the ducky one 2 mini case doesn’t wobble like this one does. Hoping the replacement doesn’t wobble.- Came with dust cover.- So far all of the switches work perfectly fine.. no keychatter.- All keycaps are standardCons:- The stabilizers aren’t very good, but that’s perfectly fine for this price point.- The instructions do not show all of the keyboard’s fucntions. I.G. you can Fn+ESC to switch the key to ~ or `. Do it again to switch it back to ESC.- The software allowed me to turn the INS key into a Print Screen key which is fantastic, but trying to change the Caps Lock key to Fn did not work EVEN THOUGH the software allowed for it to be reprogrammed to Fn. Either something is wrong with the software, or Fn shouldn’t be on the list of functions that can be reprogrammed to a key.- Instructions don’t specify what ALT GR means?- The board I received wobbles. Will update when replacement is received. (update: new replacement board does NOT WOBBLE. WOO!)My main reason for wanting this keyboard is the layout. I really like this lay with the extra two rows on the right side along with the arrow keys.I have no used this with a macOS PC since I do not own one.. I do not know how well this would work with it.I’m taking 2 stars off because the keyboard wobbles making it almost unusable. I have 5 other keyboards that do not wobble. I thought it might be the table I’m using or the mouse mat, but 5 other keyboards aren’t wobbling. I also placed this keyboard on a few other surfaces.. the result was the wobble got even worse, stayed the same, or didn’t wobble at all on some surfaces.. I placed my other keyboards on the surfaces as well, none of them wobbled on any of the surfaces where this keyboard did wobble. if it weren’t for the wobble.. I’d give this keyboard an initial 5/5 stars because it seems great. I’m going to try and get a replacement or return and hope that they fix this issue later on and will repurchase after this issue is resolved.

For what its worth its actually pretty good.

Okay.. after a day of using it, I would have to say I actually really like this keyboard. It says its 60% but since it has arrow keys ill more likely call it a 65% keyboard. I bought the cherry mx brown ones because I love the tactile feel of browns, and all I gotta say is that this keyboard is really cool. The only downsides on this are that the brightness is kinda low even when max, and figuring out how to change the lights is kinda hard because the software kind of glitches once or twice. My only other complaint is that the keycaps are tacky and the logo in the space bar is so ugly make it look like a cheap keyboard, but its okay though because I’m just gonna get me some pudding keycaps just to fix that. Overall rating I say good product besides easy fixes like changing the keycaps and then you should be completely fine. P.S I don’t hear what the other ratings say about it being springy or hearing anything off with the switches or keys.

    Awesome Budget Gaming Keyboard.

When I first got this keyboard, I was filled with excitement that I was able to get another keyboard in my hands. When the box arrived I was impressed by its boxing and was really excited to get to its build quality. Since I was on a budget I was able to get the outemu brown switches. At first I was really happy because the build quality and the size of the keyboard was extremely well built. However, when it got to the keyboard switches I was really disappointed by its lack of realistic sound of the brown switches. Instead of brown, the keyboard felt more mushy rather then a hollow click. I am writing this review on this brown keyboard right now, but it sounds more like a normal keyboard that you can get at the library. Overall it does sound like a brown switch, but it is not as satisfying as a regular brown switch. However, it is made up by the amount of quality in its build and the quality in it lighting effect. The lights on this keyboard is amazing and I love how many features there are on this keyboard. Comfort on typing on this keyboard is well over its satisfactory and meets my expectation for being comfortable for typing and gaming. This keyboard is more like a 70% because it includes additional keys on the side, but compared to a 100% this keyboard is on fire. Light and quality of the keyboard is amazing. I would highly recommend this keyboard to individuals who are looking for a budget keyboard, but I do recommend not to get the outemu switches.

Amazing. Point blank. Do not spend a penny more for something different

I rarely do reviews on a product. However I’ve now been using this keyboard as my daily for roughly 3 months. And I have to say there is no point in paying a penny more for a keyboard if you looking for something compact. 45$ for the blue switches is the one I got. I then ordered two different color pbt key cap sets off eBay for 9$ ea. Now I have a full custom look that matches my setup perfectly. The one negative of the board is the cheap key caps. However you can get custom double shot pbt ones from eBay super cheap. I’ll attach a photo of the colors I went with and all in I paid roughly 65$ for my setup. Including the keyboard and two full sets of key caps. The board has every feature you’d ever want and has been dead reliable for me. As long as this thing doesn’t break I’ll never buy anything else. For comparison I’ve built fully custom boards in the past. Meaning custom pcb, custom case, custom switches(individually lubed), custom back plate and soldiered keycaps. Some have been upwards of 2-400$. For the price this keyboard cannot be beat. Even my razer huntsman elite I don’t feel the need to ever go back to. I’m not joking when I say you will not be disappointed in this keyboard. I will recommend you lube the switches. However if your not wanting to take the time to do this even still the board is amazing. But after lubing them they have a identical feel to cherry ones. I can’t tell the difference blindfolded. Also forgot to mention that you can control every bit of the lighting in the keyboard itself. I prefer this as it’s one less piece of software you have to install and never use after the initial setup lol.

    Close, but not quite ready

6/26 Update- After just a couple days I am going to assume this keyboard was just not quite ready to deliver what they claimed. I went back to the Calibur V2 software link on Drevo’s own website this afternoon, 2 days after my original attempt, and the software failed me again! I referenced the software issue in my original review, and I believe they may have attempted to fix/update something over the last 2 days because the file name, along with a PDF and Firmware update file are all labeled with Calibur V2 TE instead of Blademaster, but that’s where things went wrong again. Once I tried opening the firmware updater & customization software (which are both .exe files), I couldn’t do anything because I got a warning from Norton stating that the files are not safe and were being removed. Once again, another failure- and these ongoing challenges with the supporting software for the Calibur V2 tell me this keyboard isn’t ready for prime time… yet.But this isn’t my first problem with Drevo- its becoming a bit of a trend actually. I purchased the Drevo Blademaster a few months back and ran into a similar problem with the driver/software for that keyboard on a totally different PC. It was just as frustrating then as it is now.To be fair- if you DON’T need software (ie- you don’t plan on customizing lighting beyond the presets), then the Calibur V2 is certainly an option to consider. It has a very clean design, the magnetic feet are actually a nice surprising touch (I was worried I wouldn’t like them but they are pretty cool and I am starting to like them better than flip out feet!). And yes- the price is almost too good to ignore. But if you need to customize your lighting for various functions/work activities, this keyboard isn’t quite ready.(Original Review from 6/24/19: I just got the Drevo Calibur V2 today. From a look & feel perspective, I think it is a great option for those looking for an affordable 60% keyboard. The one issue I have run into thus far is the software to customize the RGB backlight. Drevo’s own website includes a link to the software that you can use to adjust the lighting. The issue is that the software (I believe it’s called Power Console) only shows a Drevo Blademaster Pro when you open it. It isn’t for this keyboard, and I have looked all over the place to see if there was a different link I should be using. As of right now, I cannot customize the keyboard lighting. The only option that I can use are the preset lighting profiles. If there is different software that should be used, Drevo hasn’t provided the right link and is making my decision to keep this keyboard a little difficult. I will update the review in the coming days once I get a chance to use the keyboard (and hopefully get the right software).

    Great Keyboard for the Money

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better 60~ish% keyboard at this price. It’s slightly bigger than your average 60% keyboard, adding an extra column or two making the arrow’s and ? keys a little less wonky. That extra column also lets me have home, end, printscreen, etc keys which I use far too often to sacrifice with most minimalist keyboards. I got the blue switches and they’re buttery smooth though I do recommend buying keycap dampeners to take some of the harsh clack sounds away. The keycaps themselves are a velvetty textured plastic and I felt guilty switching them out with someone more colorful. The board has about 15-20 led color effects but I dont think you can manually set every key to the color of your choosing. The frosted acrylic on the sides of the tray are a nice effect and glow with whatever color profile you’ve selected. USB-C is also a nice plus and rarely found on keyboards in this price range (or ones much more expensive).Compared to my Anne, I’m having a hard time justifying spending anything over 50 bucks when this gem exists. I highly recommend it to anyone just looking into the world of mechanical keyboards or even if you’re experienced. This board is decked out for the price and very compact. For an extra 20-30 you can buy some custom caps from amazon and have a board which blows all of your coworkers away.

Great keyboard, cost is just a bonus

Drevo is one more unknown new keyboard makers and they are really nailing it with their products. I previously purchased a Calibur V1 and I love it to this day. The V2 just improves the keycaps that were previously kinda cheap and made me replace them. The new ones feel much more solid and deeper sounding.I do wish that I had gotten it in white like they have on the website but as of the time of writing this it doesn’t seem like that one is available. It also has markings on the back of the keyboard for cutouts for a wireless version that seems to be in the works. The Outemu brown switches that I got on both of them are my favorite brown switches that anyone makes. They have the best tactile bump of any switch that I’ve tried in the category and do it while being smooth af.Highly recommended keyboard and you should definitely pick one up if you like smaller keyboards, even if your budget is way higher than $50

Awesome for both Gaming and Typing

This review is based on my 90 day usage of this Keyboard 8 hrs in Work and ~2 hours of gaming.I primarily bought this for Gaming, but now I also use it for Work. This is my 2nd Mechanical keyboard for gaming and 1st one for work.Pros:1. Compact – I thought I would miss the numpad but never needed it. Does not occupy space, while it also gives you the arrow keys. Now my mouse/trackpad is much closer to the keyboard.2. Size of the Keys – The distance between each keys perfectly place so I’m not accidentally pressing 2 keys at the same time. This is also in comparison with my Dierya 61 keyboard. I bought both at the same time and returned the Dierya specifically for this reason.3. PC<-> mac switching on the fly.4. Looks really cool.Cons:1. Because the keyboard does not have a wrist rest, some may find it uncomfortable after prolonged typing. Reduced one star just for this.2. LEDS could be a tad brighter but that will be my last complaint.
