Poor choice of coatings for the mouse. It is too slippery. It is NOT good for gaming, in my opinion.

The overall design of the mouse is pretty good. It fits the hand well and the buttons are laid out well and are easy to reach and actuate when needed. However, the main drawback to this mouse is the rubberized coating on it. It feels like the mouse is coated in hand lotion so it is very hard to hold onto. It leaves a film of some sort on the hand after using the mouse. Given that the first and second buttons have a sideways clicking motion to them due to the vertical positioning of the mouse, the coating needs to be a seriously nonslip coating to allow proper use of the functions. Since the design of the mouse is intended to be a Gaming Mouse, I do not see how this is possible with the coating applied. If you are looking for a Gaming Mouse, this is NOT one to be considered in my opinion, which, unfortunately, is the reason why I purchased it after my Razer Naga mouse died. If you are looking for an ergonomic mouse for general office use, then you might, and I stress might, be able to use this, but you will need to overcome the tendency of the mouse to slide out of your hands when you attempt to manipulate the primary buttons.

    Most customizable vertical mouse!

It’s got some flaws, but it is by far the most versatile vertical mouse in the market right now.PROS:Price – 30 bucks is a deal.Main buttons – Left and right-click buttons feel good.RGB – If you’re into it, then you’ll like the brightness and customization options.DPI – Up to 10000.Buttons – Most buttons amongst all vertical mice out there.CONS:Software – Translation within the app is horrible. (Tips on how to use at the end of this review)Size – This mouse is suitable for small to medium-size hands. My big hand feels a bit uncomfy handling it.Buttons – Forward and backward buttons feel cheap.Analog stick – Directional movements are fine, but push requires too much force.Profiles – The software only allows 2 profiles. It’s too limited.CONCLUSION:My previous mice were Logitech g602 and the g600. Both mice have a ton of buttons on them and I prefer those because I do video editing, photoshop work, and use Blender on a daily basis. Shortcut assignment on those programs is a must for my workflow. But since my wrist began to hurt in recent days, I had to switch to a vertical mouse and the Zelotes was the only one that had plenty of extra buttons. I can attest that my wrist pain is no more and the mouse works as advertised. It’s a really good mouse at an affordable price, with some limitations.HOW TO USE THE SOFTWARE: (I’ll explain only the confusing aspects)Application Button – Bottom right of the app, you’ll see this button. It’s actually ‘Apply’Assigning Macro -Left-click on the button you want to changeClick ‘Assign Macro’Then click ‘Macro Manager’New windows opensBottom left button click ‘Create’Name the macro then press EnterThen hover your mouse in the middle panel where it says ‘Key Sequence’Right-click on empty space and choose ‘Start Record Before’Type the keys you’d like to register on the keyboardThen hover over to the right panel and click on the top button ‘Stop Recording’Macro is set but you’ll still need to assign the macro to a button.Click ‘OK’ at bottom right and the macro window will close. Then in the main window left-click on the button you’d like to assign the macro previously madeSelect ‘Assign Macro’ then ‘Select A Macro’New window opensClick on the arrow at left and your macro will appearSelect your macroClick ‘OK’ and you’re done.

Decent Mouse – Limited for Gaming

For general use (work, browsing, etc.) it’s great especially for long periods of use and/or someone suffering from carpal tunnel, wrist strain, hand cramps, etc. It’s much more comfortable than a traditional mouse. There is a bit of a learning curve to get used to the vertical layout and have precise mouse movement, but for general use, it takes little time to adjust. Gaming is a different matter and I’ll get into that later. The laser seems to be pretty good (unsure of exact brand/model) – tracks well and can adjust the DPI on the fly. The plastic has a softer, almost velvety feel once the material warms to your hands which provides decent grip; otherwise, it can be a little slippery if cold. Mouse feet glide pretty smoothly and the chord is braided – no issues with kinks or slowing down movement there. The left/right clicks are very nice – the presses aren’t too soft nor hard for a nice ‘click’. The thumbstick/joystick is a little odd – the north/south/east/west directions can be helpful for various things and are very easy to use, but the down-press is way too difficult. This is advertised as a “gaming mouse” and I’ll say that depends on the type of gaming. For casual games, yes, this will work fine; but for first-person shooters or games which require quick and precise mouse movements/clicks (i.e. competitive play), no. Someone may get used to it for FPS, but it will take time and I still believe there would be a disadvantage against players with standard mice. It’s a fairly heavy mouse with a lot of surface area which means quick movements are difficult.Overall, I’m happy with the purchase as a casual/work related mouse or for specific gaming, but for a dedicated gaming mouse it’s a hard pass.

The C-18 is THE vertical gaming mouse.

I’m an FPS player and needed a mouse that could support fast and precise movements like flicking and reduce the chronic wrist pain I was experiencing with my Logitech G502. Before finding the C-18 I looked at dozens of vertical mice across Amazon, NewEgg, PCPartPicker, Fry’s, etc. I tried a couple different vertical mice out before this one, but they all had low IPS (how many inches per second the mouse can handle) and would lose track as soon as I made any fast movements. As far as I can tell this is the only vertical mouse on the market that can handle serious gaming. I’ve been using it for about a month now, and my wrist hasn’t felt this good in over a year. This thing stands up to any Corsair, Logitech, or Razer mouse I’ve used. Also, the description doesnt do justice to the customization options. The DPI settings are just the pre-installed ones. If you download the software from the Zelotes website you can dial the DPI anywhere from 400 up to the max in increments of 100, which is amazing for a mouse at this price. The software also lets you remap all the buttons, even the DPI toggle button. Some other comments/observations:- The mouse wheel is nicely notched for weapon swapping.- The hand grip texture feels nice. It’s not rough, just slightly rubberized so if your palms sweat it doesnt get slippery or oily.- The right mouse button takes a little more force to actuate near the base—so if you use a claw grip it may take some getting used to.- The thumb joystick on top feels thrown in and doesnt really add anything (thought even without it this is a great mouse). The stick is not eaily reachable. Since you need your thumb to hold the mouse against your palm when you move the mouse, you cant really operate the thumbstick and move the mouse at the same time. The joystick movements also feel like they have delayed reaction compared to all the other buttons.- In the most comfortable/natural hand position your thumb does not have great access to the forward thumb button.- The mouse comes with an extra set of rubber pads for the bottom if the originaps wear out. The pads offer smooth movement, but have very little friction on some mouse mats. I like a little more drag, so I lightly scored mine with a pair of scissors and that fixed it.If you are looking into vertical mice for gaming or if you have wrist pain from gaming, I cannot recommend this mouse enough.

    Didn’t like it

It does not feel good in my hand and actually feels LESS ergonomic than better, standard gaming mouses. The 5d rocker (joystick) is nowhere near the quality of a controller joystick and requires a lot of movement to work. It does have a good software to manage button assignments and the DPI buttons make it easy to quickly switch between mouse speeds.

    Stylish, pretty and super comfortable.

I do not play games but I do use word processing and web surfing a lot. Therefore, I found some fingers sometimes were very numb or stiff. Not frequently but a few times so far has made me slightly worried. In order to salvage this situation, I need to reduce using the same muscles over and over again and use different ones instead. Therefore, I have looked at different design and I like how this design uses the thumb for forward and backward. I decided on getting this one. When it first arrived, I was a bit overwhelmed because of all the buttons. But once it is hooked up, it is natural to use and feel really good in your hand. The rainbow color lights are so pretty and I sometimes just stop to look at it for a while to relax. I do not use or program all the buttons but I use major ones to do what i needed. therefore, it is good enough for me. So far, I feel this is a good solution to my fatigue and pain in my hand. Here are a few things to note: mine does not come with any software so I searched online and was able to download software for c-18 mouse and install right away. The software contains Chinese, English, Japanese and German version. I installed the English one. For me, I have to adjust the sensitivity to lower. The default was way too fast for me. However, if you crave for speed in games, you can adjust to highest. I am using absolute lowest for now. See my photos for screen shots of software program to know where to adjust the sensitivity.

Good Mouse, Does Not Glide Smoothly

This is my first vertical mouse, and I quite enjoy it. The point of vertical mice is that they’re supposed to help with carpel tunnel syndrome and reduce wrist strain, because you don’t have to scissor your arm or move your wrist side to side. I would say that it has overall helped with wrist stain, but it was never very bad to begin with to be honest. It hurts my pinky a bit to be honest, but like a regular mouse, it’s not very bad.My only real disappointment is with how it glides. It scratches and scrapes along my plastic mousepad, and it doesn’t move nicely along foam mousepads either. My old mouse glides really well, but this one doesn’t. It comes with rubber stickers you can put on the bottom, but I noticed literally zero change. I don’t understand the point of the stickers. I wish the mouse moved a bit more smoothly. The ads for the joystick on the top are a little misleading. Like some reviews have already said, it’s just a d-pad on a stick. By default, they’re mapped to WASD. I tried to change it with the disk they included, but you can’t make them their own individual buttons as far as I can tell. Most mice don’t even include a joystick so it doesn’t hurt the rating, I’d just like to mention that it’s not what they advertise it to be.It feels awkward at first when I was learning to use it, but it’s very quick to learn. It’s also very comfortable and satisfying to use.

    Excellent, Gud Get, Must Buy!

This mouse is excellent, it fits right in with the rest of my setup looking amazing, and performing beautifully, I can’t believe no other company has thought to put a joystick on a mouse like this, and i’m glad I found this one. The joystick is a little less pronounced in person than it is in the photos, which i think is a good thing, it feels totally ergonomic. I think the mouse feels a tad small for my hands, but I may just need to get used to it. The only non positive thing I have to say about it is that I wish the lighting could be dimmed more than the three levels it currently has, could be possible with a software update. Overall this is an excellent pointing device and i’d highly recommend it, it’s probably the best mouse i’ve ever had.

Good gaming mouse for the money

I was a little skeptical of this one given the price and the manufacturer (whom I’ve never heard of), but I really wanted a multi-function mouse for gaming that was easier on my hands and this looked like about the only one. Honestly it’s pretty good so far. The ergonomics aside, which are much better than a traditional mouse but take some getting used to for some people, it offers the ability (through its own software) to customize all the buttons – literally all of them. So, if you’re gaming and want to set keyboard mapping or macros, it’ll do it. The 5-way thumb-stick does offer the opportunity to map all 4 directions plus the push to whatever you want. I will say moving the stick doesn’t offer a well-defined “click”, but so far it’s been working well and hasn’t got me killed yet. The Chinese-to-English translation of the instructions isn’t great, but it’s easy enough to figure out. Tracking seems very accurate, and you can adjust the sensitivity to utterly insane levels. For less than $30, if you’re looking for a gaming mouse that takes some stress of your hand/wrist, you should definitely consider this one.

The Joystick is not a Joystick.

The joystick on the top of the mouse is not a joystick. For all intents and purposes, it’s a D-PAD. You can assign four keys to it (one for each direction) and one to the pushing the stick button. By default this is set to ASWD and SPACE. I was really disappointed to discover this. I was looking forward to seeing how a joystick on a mouse could be used. The driver/configuration software poorly translated and missing a lot of options I expect from a gaming mouse. For example, there is no button 3 or button 4. There are some baffling options for key assignments, such as “Close the N Key.” It took me a good minute realize the “application” button was the apply button. The “assign a shortcut” key is nice, it let me do any chorded single key combination I could think of. Ctrl-Shift-K was no problem. It’d even use the win key.The positives:It’s a vertical gaming mouse (great for ergonomics). It’s a much better performing mouse than one would expect for $30.It is super sensitive. It lets you adjust the polling rate. The software allows you to set up to five stages of sensitivity. The lighting is configurable, but I found it to be a little limited.
