ViewSonic VX2452MH 24 Inch 2ms 60Hz 1080p Gaming Monitor with HDMI DVI and VGA inputs, Black

I’m using this with a mini PC that is mounted on the back of the monitor. I wanted to try my hand at animation and needed a reasonably good monitor. It is a good step up from my Chromebook. An unexpected surprise is that the monitor has its own speakers. They are not great but seem to work okay. The base for the monitor was easy enough to assemble (no tools required) and took only a minute or two to put together. There are several buttons under the right bottom edge of the screen, one being the the power button. Several cables are included; unfortunately, a HDMI cable was not included.I am satisfied with my purchase. Providing it doesn’t die in the near future, it should be fine.Edit: I was having trouble with the volume buttons and adjusting the volume for the monitor speakers. After I downloaded the driver for this monitor, that problem went away. I advise downloading the driver from the ViewSonic website after receiving this monitor. It appears to be a necessity.

I thought it was a great monitor for the price, but unfortunately, I already have a dead pixel on one of the units. This happened just after the 30 day Amazon window, so I called ViewSonic. Sadly, their policy requires that there be either 2 consecutive dead pixels, or there be any three dead pixels on a screen before any action is taken on their part.I use a high contrast theme, so this is particularly annoying for daily use. It’s a good price for a low-latency monitor, but be aware of the policy and the risks.

This is exactly the same monitor I have at work, so to have it at home for remote work is really nice. I like the various ports because it gives me some flexibility when switching between my work laptop and personal laptop. When I’m on my work laptop, I am using the HDMI cable and when on my Macbook Pro, I am using the VGA cable. So perfect! Super fast shipping and fits my needs!

This is a good monitor for the price, but it’s a little chunkier than others in the same price range and a little heavier. The VESA mounts are also in a poor place, but still can work fine even for a multiple monitor stand. It’s the top middle monitor in my picture, not that you can see much, better to compare the factory images of the device with other makes/models.

For the price, the picture is nice and I have no dead pixels. However, the sound is so dismal that were it not for the deeply discounted price I paid, I would return it. It is sad to say it would not be an exaggeration to say the sound is _literally_ no better than a string attached to a tin can; (really… literally). It is is _that_ bad. For that reason, I decided to not use the HDMI cable from my computer to the screen; (which, when used, give you no choice but to use the internal tin-can-speaker system). Instead, I attached my Digital DVI cable between my computer and the Viewsonic Display, which allowed me to use an external speaker. I was previously using my (20 year old) top of the line Dell Display which had an optional “sound bar” attached to the bottom with two small screws. I removed the sound bar and now have it laying behind this Viewsonic Display. *NOW* the quality of the sound matches the quality of the picture.[Short Version]: If you must use this Viewsonic Display (or any Viewsonic model within this price range), along with an HDMI cable, be prepared for _horrific_ sound in which my analogy of “a string and a tin can” is extremely accurate. The problem with using HDMI is that you have no choice but to use the internal tin-can sound system.NOTE: I tried a few of the Viewsonic models in this price range. Apparently, anything under $150 gets you a string and a tin can for a sound system. It truly is pathetic, and were it not for this issue I’d give the Display 5 stars… especially for the price.
