Best headset I’ve ever used, bar none.

I bought this headset because I play a lot of Rainbow 6: Siege, and one of my friends who is pretty high rank said that these are the headphones he uses. The difference in how well I hear things in-game with this headset compared to the previous headset I owned (a Logitech G430) is absolutely night and day. They’ve made me a much better player all-around because I can hear exactly where things are coming from now. I highly recommend these to anybody who plays games that require attention to sound cues.

Excellent headphones for gaming AND music… -1 star though for Volume

Really really great speakers. The sound comes in full and sounds fantastic. Easily be able to pick up foot steps from nearby enemies with stereo settings. You can enable 5.1 Surround Sound but I’d stay away because most games are meant to be played in stereo, which is perfectly fine. You can really tell if there’s someone directly behind you or in front of you. Also, all outside noises are BLOCKED OUT ALMOST COMPLETELY. This may be a fantastic thing or a terrible thing. I’ve missed a few deliveries while wearing these, but the ear cup seals are so good that I completely forgot my GPU whines while gaming.Comfortability is key with this headset though, I can wear these for 4+ hours and not feel the weight of this thing. Also around ears is very comfortable, I’ve worn other headsets where my ears will literally start sweating and I have to clean my ears like every 30 mins. Gross gamer problem. But with these I never get that. I also have a pretty big head with a lot of hair, I don’t even have to pull the ear cups out all the way to get it to fit. Pulling them out halfway fits perfectly.Microphone quality is fantastic as well, voice comes in very clear and not nasally or like you’re talking through a radio. Also sounds 1ft+ away from the mic are muted very well.I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for ONE reason.VOLUME.It still gets decently loud. But man it’s like it doesn’t even go all the way up to 10. The sound quality is great and all, but sometimes I just want to blow up my ear drums and listen to music very loud and fall completely into the sound. With my PC volume being maxed out, along with every other button I can find being maxed, This thing can’t quite make it all the way. I’d say if 0 was no sound at all and 10 was to the point where your ears are popping, the headset goes up to 7. It was the only disappointing thing about the headphones for me. But your milage may vary.If you bought a sound card or have one of those external sound cards Sennheiser sells,I think you’ll be fine. If you’re like me and have an ok mobo, then this may irk you like it did to me. But that’s the only negative thing about these. Other than that, they’re fantastic! 4/5

Decent once some EQ is applied.

These work well. The mic gives good sound and mutes when you flip it up. There is a volume dial on the right ear piece. My main complaint is that the frequency response is quite far from normal and I had to apply quite a bit of EQ to compensate. Even though it’s a gaming headset I was surprised to have that problem from Sennheiser. They’re decently comfortable with reasonable isolation, but I actually wish they were a bit more open to let air flow. Wearing them all day is probably not the healthiest for your ears.Because they are closed it also takes some getting used to talking into them, as you can’t hear your own voice so well as others. It would be nice if they had a monitor switch built in.

Good for glassess wearers but no noise cancellation

PROS:-I had to really break the headset in before they could be on my head comfortably but I do like the memory foam feature as i wear glasses and needed headphones that wouldn’t cause my discomfort. I can comfortably say that I wear these for hours at a time(with some needed breaks to let my ears get some air) and I find them comfortable to wear with glasses.-The mic quality is good considering it’s a gaming headset. It was this feature that actually sold me.-The actual sound is OK. I do still hear noise outside of my headsets and depending on the angle that i have my head, sometimes the headphones themselves might tip a bit so you can hear outside noise even more(if that makes sense) but all in all it’s very minor and if you fiddle with your sound settings a bit, you’ll get the headphone sound coming in quite loudly and clearly.CONS:-The headset has both a mic and a headphone input which personally I find a little bit pointless as you can’t exactly remove the mic. Would have been easier to just include it all with a USB port and call it good.-I would have preferred a longer cable.-One of the features that I thought i would like but i ended up hating was the swipe up to mute the mic. I actually find it really annoying and would have rather preferred to have had a button to click for this feature as it would be less possible damage on the mic itself and much faster to do than having to move the mic up and down.

    Changes the entire experience

I have always used a surround system for gaming and have done really well in FPS type games. Recently this past year it seemed like everyone was getting better even though I know my aim has not decreased. After listening to my friends swear by their use of headphones I decided to give them a try. Hands down I will never play a FPS game without them now. I have already won several 1st place battle royals after using headphones. The spatial awareness is incredible. Just be aware if you want to block all outside noise this unit is perfect. Your head will get warm and you will not notice what is going on around you. They do make the Sennheiser GSP 500 that have an open back design that allows for air to breath into the ear-cups and for you to hear the surrounding noise. They do cost a good bit more but if your head gets hot easy and or you need to hear the doorbell or anything around you I would recommend those over the GSP 300. I also would recommend the Hyper X USB card for $30 as it will give the headphones enough power. If you are using these on a PS4 it is a must to buy the usb card as well. Hope this review helps someone as my gaming has changed and for the better. I did return this model and go with the GSP 500 after doing a side by side test and found I needed a cooler head and to hear my surroundings in real life.

    Believe the hype

When it comes to gaming headsets I have had quite a mixed experience with reviewing even some of the most respectable brands such as HyperX and Logitech. So when a non-gaming oriented audio company like Sennheiser to swoop in and take the coveted crown of the best headset in the gaming market, it’s quite a sight to see.For those who do not know Sennheiser has made a name for themselves constructing some of the best studio monitor headphones in the world such as the HD800’s. However, they did not appear to be the ones to respond to gaming headset’s clear issues with such flying colors. The GSP 300s have better sound, control/interface, fit and comfort, and microphone than any other in this price point. Although, Cooler Master’s new headsets are on the rise, so do not hold my word to that.In terms of design, these are frankly, in the words of the great Bruce Springsteen, “you ain’t-a beauty, but hey, you’re alright.” These do not look the best, the blue-on-gray aesthetic does not look appealing much at all, so taking this thing out to the subway or campus is not going to look go on anyone. At full extension, there are huge gaps in between your temples and the headband, no matter how good they feel, you will look quite queer. Keep this at home for gaming only. Now onto things that ACTUALLY matter. The build is all plastic, which may turn off some at first since lower-end headsets mostly have aluminum headbands and sliders. However, it feels very strong in the hands, they do not creak not matter how much abuse you give them. They are ultra-flexible and will not break by just a simple throw during a crushing defeat in Apex Legends, no sir, these will get you years before they show any signs of ware. I’ve had these for over 4 months, and no signs of use on the matte exterior.Fit is a full 10, all thanks to those extremely deep and soft foam on the earcups. They also keep your ears far from the drivers, which is not padded on the inside to perhaps keep the price point below 100$. Not to mention, the unorthodox shape of the earcups actually make it so larger ears like myself are able to fit snuggly and create an amazing seal. The headband padding is very minimal, but not abrasive of rough. It is more breathable than the earcups, however, it just isn’t as satisfying as the ears. Speaking of breathability, your ears may experience heat buildup, so make sure to vent them out every so often, but with cold weather, these will be your best friend. Also, the headband expands so much that small and large heads will find their perfect size and be satisfied. One of the real selling points for this is the interface. To those who do not care about things like that, consider how annoying in-line controls are. They drag against your clothing and create unwelcome sounds in your earcups, and do not have precise enough control over your experience. Good thing Sennheiser does it right with an awesome volume weel on the right earcup, with a resistance to make it feel extremely satisfying to scroll. Also, the mic mute is built-in to the arm, so all you have to do is put it up and you’re muted once you feel a little tactile click at about 45 degrees.Speaking of the mic, you are getting the benchmark here. Awesome blend of sound isolation for those mechanical keyboard warriors, and also clarity in the voice for those who may want to use this to stream or do voiceovers, the sound will give you impressive responses. The arm is not as flexible as I may want it to be though, only one joint in the middle of the arm is flexible, and only if you really put some effort into bending it.Sound? Do you even need to ask? It’s Sennheiser for crying out loud. The drivers offer incredibly rich and lush low-ends, balanced mids for a more neutral signature, which both are helped through the incredible seal that the earcups create around the ear. Although treble will not be it’s strong suit unless you crank the wheel a little higher for more power. Also, THAT PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION! I suggest not to wear these if someone is either calling you for dinner, ringing the doorbell, or trying to see if you’re alive because you have not answered any calls, because, well, you can’t hear that. The seal around the ears is a little TOO good. But, it is quite amazing that I can bring these on a plane and be satisfied. These cans deserve next to all the praise you’ve probably heard. With their exceptional build, sound quality, comfort/fit, and features, they dwarf any other headset at this price point. Sennheiser does it again, and does it right!

Good price for a solid set of headphones

When selecting headphones, I decided I wanted a few things in particular and didn’t want to spend much more than $100. I have used Sennheiser HD280 Pros for years with no issues, but I decided to switch models to see what else I was missing.- 3.5mm connectors for both audio and microphone- Closed-ear design- Retractable boom microphone- Non-wireless- Non-Surround Sound- Appealing asthetics (it counts for me a little bit)- Good sound quality and microphone quality for the price range (obviously, I expect more out of the higher-cost models)- Long cord with a quality cable- Reliable manufacturerI got everything almost I wanted and for well under my price range. The headphones sound great and the mic input seems to be accurate when talking to others online. They are super comfortable (the headband doesn’t feel tight and the padding around the headphones is soft yet creates a good seal to block out ambient noise) and seem to be made out of high-quality plastic and padding. Nothing about this item feels cheap. The ONLY exception to this and the only wish I didn’t get was with the quality of the cable. It feels flimsy and prone to tearing. The outer coating appears to be made of some not-so-tough rubber material and it is difficult to wrap it up when you are finished. I most certainly prefer cables with braided exteriors that tend to maintain their position when bent in to place. This cable seems to have a mind of its own.I am crossing my fingers it doesn’t prove to be weak at the connection points. If it does, I would be tempted to give this a four-star rating instead.

    Aaaaaaaaaand the winner goes to………

The product is superb. The audio quality for it’s price range is just a no-brainer for a gamer and audiophile like me.Hearing hertz at a very high frequency and the bass as low as a wall thump, this I believe is a worth while investment and the ear muffs are perfect for me with noise isolation, i did a test on YouTube to see how the headset holds, and it stood its ground solid.I’ve yet to try it on Rainbow six siege to test out the experience of why I mainly bought this headset in the first place.Edit:So I’ve been playing for a while and I must say that it helps with where enemy placement is, i can hear people from left or right and if the sound is coming from afar or nearby. The headset works well with sound. The downside only is I can’t distinguish a person if he or she is above or below me.But in conclusion, this headset totally improved my gameplay (not only in siege) but in pretty much the other games, i’ve been playing. I even like to close my eyes and just let the music sink in when I’m in the mood for a music therapy on a normal sunday.Just beautiful. To say the least.

BEST HEADSET FOR THE PRICE & BEST QUALITY I’VE SEEN, 2 YEARS WITH THIS AND I’D BUY ALL OVER AGAIN!!

I LOVEEE THIS HEADSET!!! I purchased this for my xbox one and it’s definitely one of the best headsets I’ve ever bought for this price.I keep telling my friend to upgrade to this but he’s full of excuses. If you have the money and are looking for the best wired headset on a budget then this is the one for you! I also really love the how the mic muting works on this as well as the volume knob.I posted a pic of my headset on ‘the Anchor’ headset holder. (Another product on amazon worth checking out. The other headset you see are my Mpow bluetooth headsets.) Hope that helps someone!*******2 YEARS LATER – UPDATE 4/15/20*******Headset is still going strong, with hours of daily use on a regular basis. Its slid and dropped off the bed, yanked off my head and anything else that can happen to a headset…..yet still its held up. Amazed by the quality, worth every cent even 2 years later.

Maybe i got a bad one.

Returning these after two days. Let me start by saying I love immersion in games, and after owning a few cheap gaming headsets i decided to really get a decent headset. I looked at reviews and i kept seeing all the praise that these received. My decision was based on everyone high remarks for sennheiser and their great quality for audio devices. I chose these over the other two i wanted to buy because this one supposedly had a great microphone as well. Unfortunately i did not get to enjoy them at all, once i received them i opened them and tried them out. First on my pc in the living room which i use as a office pc, and the sound was awful, sounded like distorted and echoey only worked on one channel if i tried the old trick of pulling it halfways out. I know that could mean i have dirty audio inputs, just let me keep going. So i thought maybe my jack input thing is dirty, i tried it on my ps4 controller same thing, except the ps4 gives you a visual of a new device when its plugged in, on mine it displayed as if i was inserting it and removing it rapidly, which i wasn’t. I then tried my phone and ipod and both suffered the same symptoms. I should mention that my other cheap headsets and earphones i have laying around dont have the issue and worked well on all the devices mentioned so it was clearly an issue with the sennheiser headset more specifically the green audio jack, because when i plugged in to the ps4 i could hear the mic feedback when i tested it but the game sounds had the same distortion one channel echoey sound as the other devices. I was still hopeful that it may be dirty inputs on my devices so i cleaned up the one from the pc i previously tried and same thing. So last chance i gave them was plugging them on my mid range gaming pc that i had just put together, everything new on that pc so i knew the audio jacks weren’t dirty or compromised by dust or debris because ive been using those with my other gaming headsets, no surprise the sennheiser didn’t work there either. I tired this for two days and i eventually got frustrated, i should’t have to spend time trouble shooting something new right, especially product from such a high regarded company. I still think it may be an isolated issue but as it was my first product from sennheiser it left a bad impression. Ill probably get something else in that range of price now, might give sennheiser another chance at a later time. As far as build quality, the plastic was sturdy, seems durable if taken care of however i do see them breaking if handled nonchalantly , the earcups fit me, but i have normal/small ears so no issue there, it does block out a lot of sound but since i never got them working i cant really speak for the audio quality itself. Not working out of the box with anything, i cannot really give it more than one star.
