Glad I didn’t waste money on nicer headset

This headset was totally worth the money. Other headsets cost $40. I guess they are wireless which is convenient, but the cord on this set is at least 4-5 feet, so it works great. Turn the mic upright to mute.

    Loud & Clear

You can’t hear the game itself but you can hear everyone talk clear as day. It’s actually better than the more expensive one I bought for my other son. It’s very loud which is great.

Great budget headset, has it’s pros and cons over the older edition

After having so many issues with OEM Microsoft headsets earlier in the Xbox One lifecycle, I decided to try the PDP brand. And after having a couple of LVL 1’s I really prefer his brand. This headset offers some improvements over the LVL 1 but also some drawbacks. The Good:1. The adjustment of the microphone is better. It’s way more flexible than the LVL 1 which had a flimsy plastic microphone with limited positions2. Sound quality: Sound quality seems to be a decent amount better. My friends can hear me well. The Drawbacks but not necessarily deal breakers:1. Maybe it’s just me. But I like having a dedicated mute switch in the cord itself. The LVL 1 has that. This you have to spin the microphone it an upwards position. It feels a bit flimsy I must say. A dedicated mute switch is more efficient and keeps your microphone in place2. Comfort leaves a bit to be desired. Not just with how much you can extend it to fit your head. But with the fabric over the earcup. It feels slightly like sandpaper. The LVL1 has fake leather, which definitely feels soft and plush around my ear.Overall, I’d choose this over the OEM Microsoft headset any day! Not only is Microsoft charging a good amount more, but from my personal experience Microsoft peripherals have really declined in the Xbox one generation. That’s just my personal opinion.Case in point, this is a great budget headset. Cost is very reasonable. And they do tend to last quite a white.

    Squeaky and no mute

All I want is a headset that works as a headset and lets me hear my surroundings. They used to be easy to find. Now it’s nearly impossible. This headset would be better if the ear cushion wasn’t absolutely horrible. It has a pleather-like ring that squeaks everytime I move my head. And since it’s right against your ear, that squeak is very loud. There also isn’t a mute button, so I have to unplug it if someone in the household wants to talk to me. It doesn’t fit my head right either.Sadly, my old headset died, so I’m stuck using this garbage until I can find a more suitable one. We aren’t all Twitch streamers. Some of us just want a basic headset that let’s us game in between the busy parts of our life. I don’t need full in-game sound immersion. And when I do, I use my home theater system.

    Not the greatest sound.

While the microphone is the best I’ve found so far, the sound quality on the single earphone is at best- so-so. Note: this is wired as a RIGHT side headphone so when you’re setting things up, be aware of that. It is comfortable even if it’s for a smaller head than mine (7 3/4 hat) and it does adjust wonderfully well. It also has a volume control on the earphone so you don’t get blasted to bits when the sound goes way up.Good, usable and affordable.

    Legit Review

I don’t know why so many people complain about this mic. For the PRICE you are paying its great! Works just fine for me. Fits perfect, no headaches. Maybe if you have a bigger head you might want to reconsider. I saw a lot of complaints about the MUTE button. Yes, it does not have a mute button but it still can be muted by moving the mic upward. If you are too lazy to use your hanf to move the mic up then this product is not for you. If you are picky about small things then plan on spending more money to fit your needs. If you just want a working mic that fits your needs at reasonable price AND aren’t lazy or picky, then this mic is well worth it.

Basic but gets the job done

This is my 3rd different Xbox One headset I’ve purchased during my 5 years as an owner. Honestly, you shoudn’t be expecting much out of this product other than being able to chat with your friends online. I’ve previously owned the Astro A40 as well as (2) of the NUBWO gaming headsets (both of which died in 6 months or less). Bottom line is that you get what you pay for.I’ve only had this headset for one month so far but haven’t had any issues. The “mute” option by raising the mic grip high doesn’t always register on my headset for some reason. I find myself covering the mic entirely if I want to talk to someone in the room. It’s also inconvenient if you have kids running around the house making noise. Having a mute option on the controller itself really helps in those situations. Mic quality is average. You have to talk at room level to be heard. In the end I just needed a mic to chat with friends, and on that end it’s delivered. Will update if this also breaks on me and all xbox headsets are cursed

    Great wired one-ear headset

Works perfectly with my PS4. Great for gaming groups, with clear sound and noise reduction. My friends say it sounds a lot better than what I was using before and it is very comfortable to wear for long gaming sessions. Having one ear free means I can still hear everything happening around me, too. I’ve recommended this to several friends and I’m happy to do so here as well.

    Hoped for more

I’m reviewing this as an adult gamer, so if this is for a kid it might be fine.ProsSounds goodFairly well made. Doesn’t feel cheapWorks with PlayStation no issuesConsA bit too snug and starts to cause a headache for adults, maybe different for kidsThe earpiece is well made, but it blocks sound out of that earNo mute function. That’s huge as I need that ability if I’m yelling at the dog or someone wants to talk to you.I’m switching back to the amazon basics until I find another solution. It’s not a bad mic, but it still suffers from what most mono mics do and that’s everyone your chatting with hearing your surround sound. If your like me and looking at mono mics that still allow surround sound, then keep looking cause there has gotta be one out there.

    Great except I wear glasses

They are great for the price for sure, very nice and all. My issue is that they don’t seem to be “ideal” for people like myself or at least just me. I wear glasses and they get cause soreness after so long. I have a cheap pair of Turtle Beach ones that have a nice “cut out” that seems to be just the the purpose of wearing glasses. I never realized that until today when I used this pair.Like I mention, they seem to be a great product for the price, just not ideal for me whom wears glasses.
