Product itself is pretty nice. The lighting effects are great

Bought this for my girlfriend. Product itself is pretty nice. The lighting effects are great. The tactile feedback is good thought I prefer real switches. Set up was a giant pain in the butt. Took about 4 hours of messing about and getting on message boards to get the Razer software to work. No issues since finally getting it to work though.

    Great for the price!

I’m shocked it’s classified as used! I looked over every surface and checked for scratches or wear, looks and feels absolutely brand new!Pros:- Incredibly comfortable to type on- Works with Synapse 2 or 3 perfectly fine- Wrist rest is everything your wrists have dreamed of- Perfect size for a small/medium desk; not tiny but not massive so I have room on my desk for other things too- FN keys are pretty handyCons:- IT IS SO LOUD! I thought it would be comparable to a mechanical switch, but no, this is like a freight train blasting its horn at 2 am. My green switches aren’t even this loud. And since it’s “mecha-membrane” there’s no way to really dampen the sound.- The lights are dark compared to my Orbweaver and Naga- The keys are spaced kind of weird compared to normal keyboards so I’ve been relearning the layoutOverall (and especially for the money) it’s a great buy. The noise is my only real complaint but I’m hoping they will soften up after a few months of use. I’m not sure I’d ever buy a non-mechanical again but for a low budget LED gaming-ish keyboard, it’s great. I will update my review if the noise changes for better or worse.Edit: I was able to fix the noise problem by watching a YouTube tutorial on how to remove the tiny metal clips under the key caps that are there just to make the sound. Now it’s 100% silent and still extremely comfortable to type on! I’ll be leaving my review at 4 stars just because I think it’s a little ridiculous that Razer put something so cheap and gimmicky in there to begin with (if you like clicky keyboards, just go with a mechanical), but I am completely happy with my purchase now.

I love it. If it also had an inch long travel, it would be totally like the IBM keyboard I used in college) CLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK

Good, but could make more sense

Performance-wise, this keyboard’s great. The tactile feedback is great and the backlighting is well done. However, there are two notable issues I have with the keyboard. First, even though both my mouse and keyboard are Razer Chroma series, they each require their own software to manage the built-in functions. Razer has said this is simply how it is which, quite frankly, I think is incredibly unnecessary in this day and age. Second, the secondary symbols one accesses using the shift key are not placed in the usual location. Not really a problem for people skilled at touch typing, but I’m still a lazy bum and have to look frequently enough that seeing the “greater than” sign below the period instead of above it throws me off (for instance). This pattern affects the number keys, brackets, and all other buttons serving secondary functions. Why this formatting decision was made I have no idea, but once again is something I find utterly unnecessary.

    Flawless

Got my Razer Ornata Chroma (Certified Refurbished from Razer) and it came in a Razer box, with all of the instructional/ warranty papers included.works exactly as it should and gives my PC the premium ergonomics/ appearance I have been looking for.of course there are similar keyboards on the market at a lower price. I just fell in love with this keyboard when I used my friends so I felt ever so inclined to get one. the clicky sounds and tactile feel are within the perfect balance of not obnoxiously loud or hard, yet extremely satisfying. the Razer Synapse 3.0 software makes RGB controls a breeze and overall I have no complaints.

“A” key broke after a few months of use

I loved it for the first few months until one of the keys stopped “clicking.” It still worked, but a tiny piece of the frame broke so it couldn’t hold the metal piece responsible for the “clicking” sound and tactile feel. Now the button just feels like it’s on a normal membrane keyboard while the rest of them are mecha-membrane. I wouldn’t be too bothered by this if it was a key I wouldn’t use much, but it was for the A key so it was important for both gaming and everyday work so I can’t excuse this. I’ve tried several DIY fixes to get that tactile feel back, but nothing has worked. I’m probably going to replace this keyboard with a real mechanical keyboard, and I suggest everyone else to do the same. Don’t waste your money here just because it’s cheaper than other keyboards.

    Best keyboard for the price

This keyboard, for the price, is amazing! The lights are so bright and vibrant. The keys are tactile and clicky, but not too loud and obnoxious. The included magnetic wrist rest is nice and made of a soft plush leather-like material and is super comfortable, although it took me a little to get used to because I never used a wrist rest before.Edit: Not a very big deal but maybe a turn off for some. The light under the space bar is right in the center and leaves some dark space between the space bar and the 2 alt keys on either side (see picture for reference)Again it’s not a big deal for me, but maybe for some.

Good keyboard especially for the price (renewed)

I was in the market for a new keyboard and a coworker had this. I tried it and I liked it, and after seeing how many options there were (red, brown, green, blue) x (cherry, razer, etc) I decided to just buy this since I knew I liked it, rather than having to visit brick and mortar stores, buying one I wasn’t sure I liked, and then having buyers remorse forever.Overall I am glad I did. The lighting is merely OK, but that might be because I have other RGB things on my desk and they overpower the keyboard. For typing in the dark (which is what I assume the backlight was for originally), it is sufficient. The tactile/audible feedback is perfect. Its not too clacky, but I know when I have pressed a key. I think my typing abilities have improved a little even in the few days of using it. Usually I don’t like half-height keyboards, but this is very usable because of the feedback. I like the effects and that you can apply them to when a key is pressed… motion is cool but distracting when I’m looking at data on the screen or reading documentation… but its cool when I am typing and less easily distracted, so I set it up to only animate when I am typing.I like it so much (so far) that I purchased another one to bring to the office. Hopefully I don’t annoy my coworkers too much with the typing sounds.

The best keyboard I’ve used as a typist and a gamer

I really like this keyboard. The short action of the membrane combined with the “click” in traditional mechanical keyboards is just fantastic. I’m really picky about my typing “experience” both from a typist point of and a gaming point of view, and I usually put more weight into the typing experience because I do more of that, and you hit more keys per second typing than gaming. This keyboard is as wonderful a marriage between the two that I’ve come across. (And I have a literal STACK of keyboards to show for it.)There are two things that are keeping me from giving that precious 5th star for the keyboard. First, the LED key lighting is not so great. The color patterns and programmability are very good, but I feel like the characters on the keys themselves just can’t get bright enough to make out the keys. Most of the colored light is the silhouette around the key cap, not the key’s text itself. Maybe if the font used on the key caps was more “bold” to allow more of the light to shine through? I dunno, I’m not a key cap engineer.Second, I REALLY would like the keyboard to have a roller volume control like other keyboards have. My Corsair K70 had this, and I loved it. The Logitech G810 and others have it. It doesn’t look like any of the Razer keyboards have this feature.Bottom line: I’m glad I bought this keyboard and I would buy it again.

    Excellent Keyboard

I’m not going to lie I bought this not knowing it was refurbished lol. I opened the box and noticed it wasn’t the original box so I was suspect at first. I then re-checked my order and noticed the razer keyboard I bought was indeed refurbished. No biggie because the keyboard I have looks brand spanking new. I honestly can’t tell that it has been used other than the fact that the packaging was different. The keyboard itself has a very tactile feel for this mecha membrane technology stuff. The lights are nice and bright and it all syncs up beautifully with my Razer deathadder elite mouse. The wrist rest pad is really comfortable and soft. I plan to use this for some light gaming and productivity work on my computer so this is perfect for me. If you are thinking about getting this just go ahead and do it! I love my new keyboard.
