A Review of yet another gaming mouse.

Do not waste time or money. If you are purchasing this mouse after already owning a logitech gpro or another decent mouse like a glorious mO, please read. This is most comparable to a Gpro but I have one that beats out both which to my suprise is a gwolves hati(A cheaper wired gpro shape but with qc issues)The 3 stars is not because I think the gpro or others are better, this is still a nice mouse. I’m basing rating of a few things Razer fell short on.Side buttons will be accidentally pressed and very annoying even if they are disabled through synaps. Can be fixed with removable buttons and still stay pc to those left handys like the gpro did.Randomly disconnected for 10seconds during gameplay. Others have had same issue. The clicks are meh. Its just not an improvement, its like getting use to a different switch. Did nothing for my reaction time in aim games, once i got use to them. Not bad or good just optical. Differnt switch.Few other minor things like rgb doesnt save to on board memory, grip is odd coming from a smaller mouse. I have large hands so It ended of being fine after a few days, but if you have small hands definitely do not buy this mouse. Just better shapes out right now.Conculsion, It’s a 150dollar mouse….an end game price deserves end game results. Please remember these youtube reviews and some on here praising it, got it for Free…also because Razer hasnt been great in a long time and they seem to be doing a lot better.Keep up the effort Razer definitely a good start with Viper after a long time. Just feels rushed and in my opinion not the best to offer for fps aim improvement at the moment.

The Razer Viper Mini took over my desk

I play shooters, atm Valorant, CSGO, Destiny 2, Apex Legends (not so much after the wraith nerfs), and a little Overwatch here and there. I come from using a g305 and I love that thing. I bought this and was hitting shots I couldn’t hit before. It was hard to get used to the grip at first but now I love it. So much so that I bought a Viper Ultimate and I can safely say I like the mini a lot better. My hands are medium sized- 19cm X 9cm and I switch between claw and fingertip. It is super light and the weight distribution is nice. M1,2,3,4 are really good, no play or issues. The cable is very light and flexible and I use it with a Razer bungie v2 and I honestly forget it’s wired sometimes. The skates are some of the best stock I have seen. The sensor is super accurate and the resolution error has to be one of the best (I would have to look it up). Do not let the Razer branding or 40$ price fool you, this thing is top notch. Now i wish I could sell my week old 150$ Ultimate because it doesn’t beat its 40$ little brother. Trust me, if you are looking for one of the top 3 mice out there. This is one of them.

The First Razer Product I Like!

I have purchased Razer mice in the past and have never liked the way they felt in my hand. This mouse however, feels great and I love it. I bought this to replace my Glorious Model O mouse because I wanted to go wireless. It’s amazing that this wireless mouse is only about 6 grams heavier than the Model O and it doesn’t even need to have the hexagonal pattern on the case to remove weight.I spend a lot of time in first-person shooters like Rainbow Six Siege and Battlefield when I’m not at my desktop doing normal daily web browsing and email reading. Here are some pros:- Feels very light, especially for a wireless mouse.- I don’t sense any delay, even after I leave it sitting for a while.- It’s very convenient to have a power button on the bottom of the mouse, and to have a charging dock to sit it on when not in use.- The button clicks are very satisfying – good sound, good force needed (not too much or too little for my taste).- Lighting is tasteful and not too overdone.- The finish on the mouse is nice to the touch – grippy on the sides, and smoothly textured elsewhere.- The side buttons are well-placed for my thumb. Others have been a little too far forward for me.- The battery life seems great. I am part-way through my fifth day of use and the battery is at 51%. I have been using it to play games every day for at least 3-5 hours per night plus regular Desktop duties for at least an hour each day as well. I have not recharged it yet and I turn off the power at the end of each day when I am done with the mouse for the night.- The Synapse software is much better than I expected and has not crashed for me once. It’s pretty easy to understand and laid out fairly well. It’s great that it will change profiles for me automatically based on the games I start up, then go back to my “desktop” profile after I close the game. Here are some cons (for mouse, and Synapse software):- I miss the extra button on top of the mouse that my Model O had. I wish this mouse had that extra button near the scroll wheel. I have had to use one of the right-side buttons instead. Although the right-side buttons are not as easy to press for me (since I’m a right-handed user) I’m getting used to them for desktop use.- I find the lighting options a bit confusing with regards to the “Quick” effects and the “Advanced” effects in the Synapse software. Mostly, it’s frustrating that only the Quick effects are stored on the mouse with the profiles and not the Advanced effects. I think this means that if you want to use any of the Advanced effects, they will not be saved on the mouse and I’m not sure if they can be tied to games like the other profiles. Before I can really fault the mouse or software for this one, I suppose I need to learn how to use it more. Either way, I wish it were a little simpler to understand for first-time Synapse users like me.- I wish the mouse feet were “slipperier”. Compared to my Model O mouse, this mouse does not move across my cloth mouse mat as easily. My no means is it “not” slippery, but it was noticeably less slippery when I was swapping them out. Now that I have not used my Model O for about 5 days, I don’t notice it any more or have any issues moving the mouse, but it would be nice to know that it was at least as free to move as the Model O. This might turn into a plus as I get used to it because it may give me a little more “control”.To summarize, I love this mouse! It’s been great to use so far and I’m very glad I switched back to this wireless option. Lot’s to like here and the software (despite some shortcomings) is much better than I expected and seems mostly mature and works well.

    Impressive

Super impressed with this Viper Mini, only just got it today but adjusting from a Zowie ZA13 was pretty instant. First game of CS got a 30k, 2nd game was 16k only but 100% HS rating. The scroll wheel is a million times better than any Zowie I’ve had (S2, FK1, EC1, FK2, ZA 11, ZA 13 lol). The plastic for some reason does make my fingers sweat which I have never experienced before on any mouse. I hold claw grip, the slight moisture does actually help with grip weird enough. It wasn’t overly sweaty just something I’ve never experienced before. This mouse is pretty small if someone palm grips but if you have small hands probably perfect. The MM710 build quality was atrocious compared to this, I had to return mine it would actual click one of the side mouse buttons if I squeezed the mouse LOL.In game sens is 1.1 and DPI 800, 1920×1080…installed the razer software just to turn off the RGB lights, but the lights looked like they were really good quality. I was kind of taken back at first at the vivid colors through the logo, didn’t expect that at $40. Anyways I don’t like excess lights so turned it off. The new software wasn’t bad, but I try to run software free for my mouse.Lift off distance is higher than the Zowies I have used (on default) but I didn’t find that to be a problem. I’ve actually only noticed it when I’m doing things in windows but not in game.Get it, try it out, you’ll probably really like it if your coming from another small mouse!

A solid mouse, but the price is a set back.. (UPDATED)

This mouse is fantastic. Its light, a good size for all grip styles, excellent battery life, mouse feet are more premium than standard stock feet, and has a nice charging dock if you buy the bundle. It’s very precise, and the switches are on the softer side, and I’m coming from a Model O. The only set back here is the hefty price of $167 after tax that I paid for it. For that price, I could of bought probably 3 Model Os with a matte finish, or maybe a new pair of headphones. I think what Razer needs to start doing, is considering its other side of the market which is the gamers who are on a budget. Glorious’ new Model D is no contender here by a long shot, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone soon comes out with a cheaper, lighter wireless mouse that will compete with this.UPDATE: (Previous rate was 4 stars after a week of usage)So I made a comment in my review above about how the switches are not as clicky as my Model O. I recently went back to my Model O for a week of usage after making the Viper Wireless my main, and yeah. I’m going back to my Model O. I just dont like the squishiness the switches have on this mouse. Not only that, but the Razer Synapse program has been making my computer crash lately and make all my stuff act weird. As soon as I close the Synapse, problems disappear. I know I could uninstall it and still use the mouse, but what’s the point of having software you have to uninstall to make your 2000 dollar computer function? Yeah, no. It was a decent run for this mouse, but the switches, the software, and the price is just not worth it. However, I’m glad that Razer came out with a better wireless mouse than others. It pretty much raises the bar for other companies, and it wont be long before someone else releases a better mouse and HOPEFULLY, at a better price that is friendly for all. 2 stars.

Razer Viper Ultimate – No Snake Oil Here, the new King of Mice

Razer Viper Ultimate ReviewThis has been a killer year for Razer in their product lineup. From keypads, to keyboards, and now mice as well. The Viper Ultimate is Razer’s one-two punch answer to the Logitech G Pro wireless, which is now getting on over a year old, and it is quite the response. Featuring an incredibly comfortable and sleek ambidextrous design, the Viper Ultimate stands tall amongst its peers, offering one of the best gaming experiences you can have with a mouse.Razer designed the original wired Viper with a key feature set in mind – creating a light, fast, wickedly responsive and premium gaming mouse and the Viper Ultimate adds to that with the addition of wireless connectivity. Long gone are the days of wireless mice being shunned by gamers and only being reserved for travel or general purpose use, wireless mice now stand at the forefront of gaming with offerings from Razer, Corsair, Logitech, Steelseries and other major manufacturers as upgrades to their wired siblings. The Viper and Viper Ultimate offer an extremely comfortable shape and design that really shows how far Razer has come with their mouse design. Subtle comfort grooves in the buttons, crisp button presses, well-stepped mouse wheel, and extremely comfortable rubber sides really make the mouse feel premium. The Viper is ideal for medium to medium-large hands, offering comfortable grip options for both palm, claw, and hybrid grip styles. Fingertip grip is possible here, but not recommended as the mouse as a longer body that is not well suited to fingertip grip styles. Integrated firm rubber sides, textured matte plastic body, and super comfortable shape for left and right handed users really take the spotlight. The mouse has side buttons on both sides, but are cleverly designed so that you never have to worry about accidental presses on either side, and even if you are worried about still somehow hitting the side buttons on the opposite side of the mouse – it is a simple enough task to go into the software and disable them. The mouse is also extremely rigid and sturdy, having no flex or bowing at all, there is a slight rattle but I think it is either in the mouse wheel or lens of the sensor. Not sure though, but it is nothing to be worried about, pretty standard fare there, though I would like to see that eliminated in the future., Lighting is minimal, with the only RGB goodness being the classic Razer logo on the butt of the mouse being lit up, but the charging stand also has an RGB LED on its base and integrates seamlessly into the Razer Chroma ecosystem and works as expected.Ultra low latency, long battery life, and ditching the cable drag are great bullet points for any wireless mouse manufacturer to have – but only a few have managed to add “under 100g” to that list. Logitech launched their G Pro wireless last year with a surprising 78g weight that was lighter than most wired mice, and now that smaller, lighter mice are in – it was the perfect time for Razer to fire back. The Viper Ultimate weighs in at a shockingly light and nimble 74g (2.6 ounces), beating out everything but the Glorious Model O series, the Finalmouse UItralight 2, and the Coolermaster MM710. And at 74g, I would gladly give up my Finalmouse’s ultra-feathery light weight for a better shape and wireless capabilities. I’d also be shocked if we didn’t see an even lighter Viper out next year with the ever popular honey comb design and even lighter materials, I’m almost positive that they could get the weight below 50g with relative ease.So we have a masterful recipe for success here with a great weight and balance, wireless connectivity, and sleek design and shape, but what about the internals?I am glad to say that the inside of the Viper and Viper Ultimate are just as well designed as the outside. The sensor is the result of the partnership between PixArt and Razer, and what they’ve brought with the 3399 is an incredibly fast, accurate, top-of-the line optical sensor that is near flawless in its execution. While the reported resolution of the sensor goes up to a true 20,000 cpi – we all know that none of us will ever even come close to using that level of granularity given that the overwhelming majority of gamers use 2000 dpi or lower. But it is nice to know that the option is there – in the event that we have 20K displays. The bottom is equipped with pure 100% PTFE feet without any dye positioned at the corners of the mouse and around the sensor itself. The absence of the black dye means there is zero grittiness to the glide of the mouse when moving it, and rivals that of aftermarket mouse feet like Hyperglides. The only reason you’ll ever need to replace these feet is if they ever wear out, they’re as good as mouse feet get. The clicks are satisfying and tactile, offering an instant response due to their opto-electric nature. Speaking of which, the opto-electric switches are great! Because there are no actual contacts, the switches have an incredibly long lifespan, over 50 million clicks and are immune to double-clicking that their mechanical microswitch brethren are notorious for.Included with the mouse is a charging dock that functions both as a home for the wireless receiver if you so choose and as a convenient and fast way to charge the mouse when not in use. Simply plop the mouse on the dock when you walk away to get a drink or go to bed, it is as simple as that – not that you’ll need to do that very often. The Viper Ultimate sports a staggeringly impressive maximum battery life of 70+ hours on one charge, and can be charged from 0-80% in 90 minutes or less. The cable used to plug into the charging dock can be used to connect the mouse directly to the computer to be used in a wired state, if you for some reason should want to do that. It is very lightweight and flexible, only ever so slightly stiffer than the Viper wired cable. Let’s be real here though, if you’re buying a wireless mouse only to plug it in and use it wired, what are you doing? At $150, it might be a tough purchase for some – but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth it. If you are looking for the absolute best wireless gaming mouse out there right now, the Viper Ultimate is it. There is little room for debate on whether or not the Viper Ultimate is the king of gaming mice in 2019. Ultimately though, the best mouse for you is the one that feels best in your hand. So many mice have top optical sensors and similar specs, that it comes down to personal preference in regards to the shape. For me, the Viper Ultimate shape fits my hands extraordinarily well, whereas the Finalmouse Ultralight 2 and Logitech G Pro wireless exist at opposite ends of comfort for me. The Ultralight 2 is too small for my hands, and the G Pro feels too much like a semi-circular plastic dome, but the Viper Ultimate is just right. If there’s anything I would consider changing it would be creating a honey-comb shell design that would further reduce the weight and possibly making the side buttons modular, similar to that of Logitech’s offerings so that if we so choose to could simply remove the side buttons for the side of the mouse that we are not using.Razer, 2019 is the year you came back hard. I love what you’re offering and I really hope 2020 brings as much if not more innovation to your future product lines. You guys are champions, once more.

Turned into crap in just 4 months.

Previously I had Razer Lancehead TE, and it turned into crap also in 4 months.I need to mention that I play a lot, I record video tutorials for my youtube channel, writing some texts for reviewers and doing some other gaming-related work and that’s why I game a lot. At least 60 hours a week, I’m in from of my PC, gaming or writing or something else. Also, it isn’t about me destroying Razer gaming mice, because before Razer, for 9 years I used only 3 gaming mice from another major manufacturer, two of them are good and working and one of those two is used by my little cousin. Now let’s talk about how it turned into crap and about quality and my overall Razer experience. I ordered this mouse 4 months ago, after 2 or 3 days of use I ordered new relatively expensive feet from china and replaced the original one ASAP. They are bad, I really mean bad, if you compare them with any other major gaming mouse manufacturer – they are bad. Corners are sharp, the quality of the material is bad, you can’t get a good gaming experience with them, even more, some of the other manufacturers include an extra pair of feet. Razer doesn’t, also I want to mention Lancehead TE had the same problem. After 2 months of use, I started to feel that LMB is rattling, it was moving at least 2mm from right to left and back. And for 2 more months, it wasn’t a big deal. Until recently that rattling and moving started feeling like you are pressing LMB. It feels like you pressed the button and nothing happens, after you realize that it moved from right to left you heard a sound, you could feel that movement with your finger but it wasn’t a click, just button moving in a sideway direction.Right now I’m in Europe, and I don’t know what to do except just order mouse of another manufacturer. This mouse feels good, it suits my hand well, but the quality of the Razer product is just bad.I had 3 Razer mice. Mamba – I ordered it when it was released in 2009, it was crap, the scroll wheel was rattling and wobbling, that sound was disgusting, I returned it. 9 years after I ordered Lancehead TE – after 4 months of use buttons started double-clicking. I didn’t send it back and kept using it as it wasn’t a big deal, a few months later side rubbers started to fall off, sometime later scroll wheel started rattling and wobbling the same as it did with Mamba back in 2009. 9 years later they still didn’t fix a problem. Right now Razer Viper scroll wheel and rubbers are ok, but LMB is rattling and wobbling as it was with Mamba 2009 scroll wheel.Maybe I’m cursed not to order Razer products?

    Great Mouse with one flaw

Let me start by saying this is my favorite mouse by Razer and is possibly my favorite mouse ever made. I have tried many mice on my never-ending quest to find the perfect fps gaming mouse. From memory I’ve tried:Razer Deathadder 2014 and current, Zowie fk1, Zowie EC2a, Nixeus Revel (my previous daily driver), the Glorious Model O, The Finalmouse ergonomic, The Finalmouse Ultralight Phantom, the Logitech G Pro Wireless, The Logitech G Pro, and a couple of others not worth mentioning.Things I like about the mouse:The shape- this is probably the most important part of a mouse for performance and this mouse closely aligns with my previous favorite the Nixeus Revel. Official dimensions are 4.99 x 2.61 x 1.49 inches. The ultralight (69g) form factor- I can’t stand the honeycomb design a lot of companies are doing and I’m glad Razer found another way to achieve the lightweight without sacrificing the comfort of a full mouse. The grip on the sides – it’s is perfect and helps me with claw grip when I’m playing games. The matte coating- I tend to sweat a lot and it helps me grip the mouse better. It goes along nicely with the grips. The RGB- most mice have this nowadays but it’s nice to be able to customize it. I’ve always really liked the razer logo. Razer did well here. The mouse cord- It is lightweight and doesn’t get in the way, almost like a paracord.Per Mouse Profiles- This mouse allows you to store profiles on the mouse itself so you can set your DPI, lighting, etc preferences and it will remember them. This is nice because you don’t need to download any software to make it work, but if you do, you only need to do it once to initially set it up.The side buttons- They are recessed in the mouse which is both a good and bad thing. I guess it depends on your preference. I do find that I sometimes misclick them because they aren’t very distinctive for that reason. The mouse buttons- They are really solid and I haven’t had any issues with misclicks or anything like that. What I didn’t like(not much):The mouse buttons on the right side of the mouse- I get it, they wanted this mouse to have an ambidextrous design. I can respect that, but it creates issues when I claw grip the mouse. For instance, I find that I accidentally click the buttons on the right side of the mouse when I am trying to claw grip it. My workaround so far has been to just disable those buttons in the software but it’s annoying that I have to do that. With that being said I have two suggestions for Razer for combating this problem:1. Make the side buttons removable (like on the G Pro Wireless, reference picture included).2. Make a right-handed only version. This one is less practical so I hope they do something like the first solution.I still decided to give it 5/5 stars because it is just that good. The issue I have with it is pretty minor and I can live with it. But if Razer addressed it that would be awesome.

First Razer mouse in eons.. incredible

INSANELY light. About 40% lighter than my G305 (with battery). This is the most impressive aspect for me.Fantastic shape for small hands.Good for palm, claw, fingertip grips, whatever. The hump does not impede my grip, even with small hands.Clicks are not mushy and are also pretty low-volume; it’s easy to spam-click unlike my last Zowie.Side button clicks are tactile as well – no mushiness. No software required. Plug & play and use DPI button to change DPI. Note: logo LED cycles through color spectrum by default.-Downside: made by Razer so I don’t expect it to last for more than two weeks, based on my n=1 experience.-Of my closet-full of gaming mice, I see this being my favorite, if it lasts.-Update: after two days, the right-click has developed a ‘bump’ when being pressed lightly. Not a deal breaker but unfortunate.

I really wanted to love this mouse but it has a fatal flaw

I really wanted to love this mouse since I’m a big Razer fanboy. I was looking for a wireless gaming mouse which was ambidextrous since I’m left handed. I actually do love everything about it other than one thing which I’ll get to in a minute. Love the look of it, the textured matte finish, and the rubber grips on the side. The wireless is great and it tracks really well with the 20k dpi optical sensor. It’s glides nicely on my glass mouse pad. The shape and size is perfect. RGB lighting is great. Mouse wheel and side buttons, perfect. Charging able is nicely braided and thick. Software is good. Has a little storage compartment on the bottom for the wireless dongle. Gives you the option to use a charging dock. But, there is one unforgivable major flaw which are the two primary mouse buttons. They’re absolutely horrendous. Totally mushy and they creak like crazy. Tip to Razer. Don’t bother making any mouse, much less a $130 mouse with bad buttons. Any mouse with bad primary buttons is worthless in my opinion.*Update*Returned the Viper and got a Logitech G Pro Wireless which it fits the bill. Lightweight, relatively small size, ambidextrous, and wireless. Doesn’t look as cool as Razer but at least the mouse buttons are decent. Shame on you Razer. Never release a mouse with bad primary buttons.
