    Update: Eco mode stopped working

Physically, I like the mouse for the most part. It feels ergonomic, had no trouble connecting to my computer and has served it’s purpose as a wireless MMO gaming mouse.Things I don’t love:* Smooth plastic on the sides is slippery and easy to smudge.* The buttons for DPI cannot be reassigned to other functions. The wired version allows you to reassign these buttons, why not this version?* I had to use third party remapping software to get it so I could assign a key to shift and press another button on the mouse at the same time* Buttons on the side are “a little” difficult to press coming from a Logitech G600 but I’m sure I’ll get accustomed to it.All in all, it does what I need it to do. It’s not as nice to game with as my G600 but it’s wireless and is ultimately pretty close so I’m pretty happy. I just wish the software was better.Update: It’s been a little under a month and Eco mode has just stopped working entirely. Last night I was running dungeons in an MMO and the DPI kept randomly switching back and forth. The way I know that was happening for sure is that whenever the DPI switches there’s a window at the top right that tells you and the process of switching causes a sharp drop in FPS while it happens. When you’re trying to dodge attacks in a game, that is extremely annoying. On that note, I’m removing a star.

Great mouse for gaming, aside from a couple problems

When I bought the M913, I expected a gaming mouse with a smooth feel and precision. That is exactly what I got aside from a couple problems. The mouse has great grip and feels comfortable, but is bulky and carries a little extra weight. The side keys are great but could be improved too.Pros:Great DPI for gaming. Both wireless and wired connection (if you are like me and fear latency with wireless connections this is great). One of the best scroll wheels I have experienced with any mouse.Twelve programmable side keys, plenty for gaming.Programmable software can be downloaded from the Redragon website to edit binds, sensitivity, lightning, and macros (No registration or account creation needed).Eco mode for when not gaming.Magnetic compartment to store USB for wireless connection when not in use.Nice finish on the sides for great grip without being slipperyCons:Bulky build and slightly too much weight.Side keys require a lot of pressure to press.

Good option for Wireless MMO with portable receiver.

Pretty good mouse. Only 16 programmable buttons. The rocker buttons below the scroll wheel are not programmable. They are dedicated to changing the resolution. The programmable buttons are the thumb panel 1-12), the quickfire next to the left click, the wheel, and the standard 2 mouse buttons. The pinky finger rest is nice, but something to get used to if you have never had it. The thumb buttons are nice and clicky, but button 6 is a little mushy. The wing under the thumb buttons is a little in the way of the bottom four buttons (1,4,7,10). It makes it hard to use them if you make them a frequently used hotkey. I may just have a large thumb. The weight is nice, and adjusting the resolution in increments of 100 can get you to your sweet spot. Software was easily downloaded, installed, and simple to use. It has the option to start on boot, but does not start minimized. The lighting is not something I desire, but it is plagued by basic RGB led color recreation and you don’t get a good phase between colors when fading. The build quality is nice. Like some other review sites say, the plastic feels a little cheap, but it is constructed well.I like that the wireless receiver is just a little usb nub. That is the main reason I was interested in this mouse. I really wish Razer would make their Naga wireless with this type.

45 hourbattery life was a lie.

I bought this because its freaking cool looking! With a “45 hour battery” “80 hours in Eco mode.” I was sorely disappointed. I charged it up and got may 9 hours before it annoyingly started blinking red. Think broken stoplight only faster. On top of that there’s still 30% battery life left on it. You cannot change when it starts blinking or alter it in anyway that I’ve found. I contacted the company and am awaiting a response but I’m pretty sure I’m stuck with switching into eco. I don’t think there’s any other way to stop it. I think the buttons are a bit too close together but other than that the mouse works great. But,I wouldn’t buy it again it for that price anyways.

    Great mouse, one hangup

I’ve been playing MMOs for longer than I care to admit (“But how long?” You probably didn’t ask? Since 1998. UO was my start. Sonoma shard represent). Anyway, point being is that for a period in time having a multi-button mouse was The Thing for these kinds of games, and can be a real game changer. I don’t use these buttons for really anything outside of those games, and that doesn’t really bother me. But when I do need them, I need them. Now we’re seeing more wireless mice for gaming which is great! I move my laptop around the house, cords get in the way. I would prefer my mouse to be wireless. But there really hasn’t been a wireless mouse with 12 side buttons. If I find the mouse that checks that box, as well as a couple others, I’ll be throwing down as much money as needed to get it. Because while the M913 has that (and it does that real well), it’s missing a couple minor things that make me want to return it.So, the good things:It’s wireless. Really can’t go wrong with the central part of this mouse. It has 12 buttons on the side. The buttons are a little stiff but this is something that I’m sure would get better with time.Uses USB-C to charge. I like this a lot, I really wish that companies would jump to USB-C because, hey, it’s cooler. It’s weighty. Some people may not like a mouse that’s heavier but that thing isn’t leaving the pad for me.Battery life. Battery life is 48 hours, but longer in the Eco mode. This is fine for me. I don’t need a mouse to last 6 weeks with no charging. Especially since for the trade off of having a 12 button mouse wireless like this is accepting that it may need to be charged more frequently. The small bad things:No tilt click scroll wheel. This is very nitpicky, but it’s one of those things I’m accustomed to. I really can’t go without it, apparently. Can’t remap the DPI buttons. So since there was no tilt click scroll wheel, I thought this would be something I can get past! I don’t really need more than 1 DPI setting anyway, so I can just remap those DPI switch buttons to go Forward/Back. Except you bizarrely cannot remap those buttons. Every other button on this mouse is changeable, save those two DPI buttons. This really bummed me out because every single thing about this mouse is great! I just wish it either had that tilt click scroll wheel (preferred), or at least let me remap those buttons I truly don’t need to something else I do need.

Great for FPS, not so great for MMO.

I picked this up looking for a new MMO mouse as my old one is starting to fail. I’ve used the Razer Naga series for years and like the larger number of buttons for macros and ability keys. The device itself is sturdy enough for the price and is on the light side in the weight department.I use a palm grip and found the size of those mouse to be perfect for my hand size. For reference that is 7.5″ long and 3.75″ wide. The left and right side have rests for both thumb and fingers respectively which gives this mouse a great feel when moving across your mouse pad.I first tested this on an FPS game and surprising really enjoyed it for that type of game but unfortunately I didn’t buy this for shooters and frankly this falls quite below the mark what I was searching for for an MMO mouse. The 12 side panel buttons tilt inward per each set of 8 which caused me to lift my thumb further to reach the back row 7-12 buttons. This by itself would have been okay with a learning curve. The major issue I had with this was the positioning of the buttons themselves. All iterations of the Naga, plus the Corsair Scimitar allow you to clearly determine which button your thumb was resting on. With this mouse it felt like I was guessing which button I was hitting and that I was pushing multiple buttons at the same time. That’s not a good thing when you’re in a raid and need to be sure you’re pressing the right keys.Overall the mouse itself is okay and would get the job done though I think may would better with smaller hands. If you are looking at this mouse and primarily play shooters and just want a few extra buttons I’d say go for it, but personally I think there are better models out there for MMO’s. This mouse had a lot of potential but the 12 side buttons are just very poorly designed.

Not bad for the price, but feels very ‘Made in China’

The battery life is outstanding, but the software used to configure the mouse is wonky at best. It’s written with very poor English, the options are confusing, and it constantly gives error messages when you don’t move the mouse for too long. The worst part is the protrusion under the buttons on the right. I guess it’s supposed to be a thumb rest? But, why? There’s no need for it, and it just gets in the way of the buttons on the bottom.Just get a Razer Naga and be done with it.

    Honest & Reliable review

*NOTE* I seen some of the other reviews, & some of them are incredibly silly.I originally bought some outdated & discontinued Red Dragon mouse for gaming that came with two buttons on the side & gave that mouse to my mother for Working from Home. The mouse was abused, dirty, and old. But it was workable, and allowed her to move the mouse across the screen FAST.I upgraded her to a Red Dragon M711. Which came in today. I took a look at it, and it feels nice in the hand. She loves it. And will love it when she actually uses it. So anyone not interested in reading this review, just go for that mouse if you’re looking for a reliable product beyond the box.—————————————————————————————————————————————Red Dragon M913 is the mouse we’re talking about today. And I’m going to be comparing this to the M901 for two reasons. 1) I had the M901 since 2013-2015 (currently 2020) and only until recently has it shown issues where left clicking will either double or triple click, much like the rapid fire button that it comes with it. 2) Being that both mouses can be wired, but the M913 is primarily a wireless mouse. They both offer the same, equal functionality. Only that one mouse is 100% wired. And the other mouse is 50% wireless & 50% wired, both being 100% optional. Also important to note that the M913 comes with a universal USB to Type C wire. This is most seen on Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphones. Therefore, if you’re ever looking to replace the short braided cable that comes with this M913, you can literally just buy any USB to Type C braided cable for cheap on Amazon. And that’ll do the trick for when you’re no longer wanting to use the wireless features of the M913, you can easily swap to wired with little effort.—————————————————————————————————————————————Okay so getting straight to the point. The mouse feels nice in the hand. I don’t use a mouse pad on my desk because the wooden surface isn’t true wood. It has some kind of a overlay that allows the mouse to glide with no problems at all. With that being said, mouse gliding is nice, smooth, and doesn’t scratch. Beware, the M913 has some sort of protective, but easily removable, tape that may or may not hinder your glide performance. I was using the mouse with the tape on, but when I removed it, the glide was even faster. In action, surfing the web is flawless. There’s no delay or lag. The mouse doesn’t move by itself. And also, the entirety of the mouse feels 100% identical to the M901. The only difference between those two mouses, is that the M913 has a glossy plastic rather than that grippy matte plastic that comes with the M901. However, there is a matte plastic grip on the base of the mouse, specifically, where your palm rests on top of the mouse and also on the left/right click buttons.Eco Mode on the M913 completely removed the RGB to preserve battery. But when you change your dpi you’ll see a red light pop up showing you the density strength of your dpi. Kind of a reminder to letting you know that your mouse is a certain dpi when you’re transitioning between reddit & league of legends as an example. It’s important to note in comparison with M901, there’s no weights in the bottom of the M913. That can be a turn down for a lot of people. When I noticed that, I was kind of bummed. But to be fair, the M913 held in my right hand and the M901 held in my left hand; They feel about the same weight give or take, and that’s with the M901 having ALL the weights embed in it. Says a lot for the mouse I think. So I don’t really care.A lot of people in past have claimed that wireless mouses have a delay, lag, or slow response times when communicating with your PC but that’s untrue with this M913. Specifically, the closer you are to receiver (the little dongle you plug into your PC via USB), the better the response. I imagine as long as you’re not sitting on your roof outside, you shouldn’t experience any problems. And if you do, you must’ve been unlucky with your product quality or you’re doing something wrong. There’s no pros & cons to list here. I think people who do list those are crazy. And aren’t rightfully reviewing the product as so. Not once in my lifetime have I spent the $60-100 on a Corsair or Razer mouse; I’ve always been with Red Dragon because the reliability when compared to my friends who DO spend that money on flagship gaming mouses doesn’t even compare. They ALL have these non-stop complaints after 7+ years whereas my only complaint is that my left click double clicks after 7 years of Gaming. This can be said specifically with the M901 that has lasted me 7+ years, AND might I add it still works fine. The RGB lighting on that mouse looks as if it was brand new outside the box. The double/triple clicking from the left click (being that’s the most used button on the entirety of the mouse) isn’t a problem, and IS a problem for any mouse after 10+ years typically. I never take my rage out on the mouse, but I’ve dropped my M901 a couple of times by accident and it has never left me behind my competitors.—————————————————————————————————————————————The overall lifespan of Red Dragon mouses are a guaranteed 7+ years. Imagine only having to spend $15 to $50 on a mouse that’ll last you a LONG time, can easily be replaced at a very small cost, and on top of that the variety options is up to par with the top branded, flagship gaming mouses.Nothing is ever perfect in this world therefore people will always have their complaints. But after reading all these reviews I noticed a recurring theme are people who lack the brain cells to use a mouse correctly and then just down rate the product with their clueless insights.I’ve owned a total of 4 Red Dragon mouses. My mother is capable of backing up that the old Red Dragon mouse she was given was GOOD had it not been old. And that’s just recurring theme here. Red Dragon is a company consisting of ex-asus employees. Therefore a lot of these products they release share a lot of common features when compared to big brands like Logitech, Corsair, Razer and so forth. But that doesn’t mean they can’t compete at all, and they save you a few bucks by offering equivalent performance to those brands at a lower cost, overall, allowing you to buy a mouse, a keyboard, and probably even a headset if you really wanted to for the price of 1 Corsair product (as an example).I don’t hate any of these companies mentioned in this review. I’ve owned 2 Razer headsets. I’ve had a keyboard + mouse bundle from Cooler Master. I’ve used my friends Corsair k55 keyboard multiple times and it’s amazing. But when it comes to gaming, I like to be comfortable. I like to feel like if I were to spill water on my appliances that the repercussion is only a minor issue and not a big issue that warrants replacement or complaining to the manufacturer that somehow the keyboard/mouse malfunctioned when in reality I misused it.Because if that did happen, $15 to $50 is nothing. But if it was $100 or more, I’d be worried. Especially when those top brand custom service reps will put you through a 24 hour wait time period in which you have to fill out a 100 questionaire on why the product stopped working, include the original receipt + model ID, etc just to RMA something. When in reality, they could just search your model ID, to find out when it was sold, calculate how long it’s been, if it’s been a year or less, it’s eligible to be RMA’d for a new one.Red Dragon will send you a new one before you can even count your toes.

Great product and phenomenal customer service!

This mouse is so comfortable and so convenient. Every button is easy to press and to reach, the dpi adjustment is great for swapping on the fly in games. The latency is so low and responsive! I will say that for claw players and small handed players, this mouse may be difficult to use for you. It is meant for palm players with medium to large hands.A separate note is that their customer service is so good! I had a minor issue with mine and they were so quick to respond and to fix the issue. Seriously, I can’t recommend this mouse nor this company enough. I am extremely pleased with the whole experience.
