Terrible bluetooth, horrible instructions, missed opportunity

Had this keyboard for a few months already. Size is great, keys are nice angle is good. The problem here is the bluetooth. It is garbage! Do not buy this keyboard thinking you will use it in bluetooth mode. It is a pain to pair and when you finally do it, it will disconnect if left idle. Sometimes you can turn the bluetooth on and off on the bottom(back) of the keyboard and it will work again other times you will have to reconnect it in order to use it.The software is bare bones. It does let you adjust the time it takes for it to go into sleep mode but this does NOT keep the keyboard from suddenly disconnecting. The lighting options are good. They could make it more user friendly and explain how to setup custom colors. If you mess with it you will figure it out.The included instructions are terrible do not bother with them. It’s a single piece of paper and they have single sentences and do not properly explain the steps to pair it. I was able to find a pdf online with better instructions.Overall its still a good wired 60% keyboard but do not get this thinking you will be able to use it wirelessly.

    Decent clone of Vortex 3

It’s a solid built copy of the Vortex 3 keyboard. The PCB isn’t quite as good as an authentic Vortex or the CODE keyboard. Specifically, there’s trouble with using the Function keys back to back. If you cmd+fn1+tab, you can’t cmd+1 or something like that without releasing the fn1 key. It’s kind of annoying if you’ve used one of the better keyboards before, which allow you to do that.RBG lighting looks good, but the programming interface is really buggy. I can’t seem to program the lighting, I get error messages that don’t make any sense.Overall it’s pretty good quality. It’s a straight clone of another keyboard, so you might want to buy the Vortex if you care about such things.

    Love Ann Pro 2

Love Ann Pro 2. The keycaps are so study and thick and the chasis as well. Altho the lighting kept reset when I start type on it so I have to reconnect it to the software and download and set the lighting again. The lighting style is beautiful and my favorite is breathing per key. Tho I wish they have static color with breathing per key so the colors are always there. Maybe because it’s meant to be a wireless keyboard so it doesn’t have that (Durgod has tho). The bluetooth function doesn’t work when I set my own profile of functions but it works fine when I put it back to default. Overall Ann Pro 2 is a beautiful keyboard and the Cherry mx brown works very good. The switches sound like they are lubed already so there isn’t much spring sound when you type on it which is satisfying to hear. I think it’s my favorite keyboard now. I have a Durgod K310 with cherry mx silent red switch and I typed on Gatereon brown before as well and I find cherry mx brown with Anne pro very satisfying. Especially the additional provided keycaps are so cute almost like those wood toys we played since kids and I just love that cute toy feeling of the keycaps and high qaulity made. Though I found out the inside box is a bit out of shape where the keyboard lays not sure if it comes like that? but overall is new so I’m happy with it 🙂

    Great compact keyboard

I wanted to share my impressions of the Anne Pro 2, and I am writing this review on the Anne Pro 2 because this keyboard is truly a pleasure to type on. If you want the short version of the review you can stop reading here. If you want more information, read on.First a little backstory of how I ended up with this keyboard. Since I am now spending more time than ever at home in front of the computer I decided I wanted a new keyboard. I always had a passing interest in mechanical keyboards so I started doing research on them. I wanted my new keyboard to be wireless, look great, and be compatible with Mac. I also wanted a keyboard that felt great to type on. I remember being in college in the 90s and typing on computers that had very satisfying clicky keyboards. I wanted to find a keyboard that could make typing fun again. The Anne Pro 2 seemed to check all my boxes, so I ordered one.The keyboard arrived yesterday and here are my initial impressions. The keyboard has impressive build quality and is much heavier than expected. Even though the keyboard has a plastic frame this thing is solid! Typing on the keyboard is a joy. I got the brown switches since they are supposed to be good for typing but more quiet than the blues. The brown switches still make a lot of noise. So much so that my son just came from the next room and asked me what I was typing, but I really enjoy the sound.Setting up bluetooth was not easy and took a couple attempts but this was due to user error as I pressed the wrong function key. Bluetooth appears to be working well now with no noticeable lag. I had read some reviews that stated the bluetooth didn’t work well but I have not had any major issues. I also read reviews stating that the backlight was not that bright so I expected to be underwhelmed by the lighting but I think it looks amazing. One nice thing about the Anne Pro 2 is that it comes with extra keycaps and a keycap puller so you can customize it a bit. I changed out my escape key with one of the extra keycaps and it was an easy process.Another nice feature of the Anne Pro 2 is the tap arrows as the keyboard does not have dedicated arrow keys. I have found the tap arrow keys work well and I do not miss the dedicated arrow keys. I also found a cool short cut to show battery life expressed in lights on the top row of the keyboard. This is helpful to know when it is time to plug in the keyboard to charge. As for the software I downloaded the software for my Mac without issue but the Obins iOS software does not appear to be working. This seems to be a common issue that hopefully Obins will address in a future update.Overall I am really pleased with this keyboard and recommend this keyboard to others looking for a more satisfying typing experience. The one caveat I would say is know that this keyboard is not quite as plug and play as some more mainstream keyboards. There is a small learning curve to learn how all the features work but well worth it in my opinion.

    Not what I expected.

I had really high hopes for this keyboard, I got mine with gateron red switches, the build quality is amazing, stabs are very good, the software is nice as other boards in this category do not offer one, the tap functions are very nice and no other board offers this much ease of use. But I just could not keep this board. I noticed issues since the day I received it, the Bluetooth is not good at all, it takes a long time to switch between devices, keys stick frequently, and it gets extremely laggy to input the characters from time to time. I then thought that wired mode would solve these issues, but I found more. Every time I would put my PC to sleep, the board would lose power completely, meaning I could not wake my PC off by tapping a key on the keyboard, and yes, I made sure I had the setting to allow this device to wake my PC up, but no matter what I did, switch to BT and back ti USB, unplug and plug it back in, it would not respond, I would have to wake the PC up by pressing the power button, unplug the board, switch to BT mode, back to wired, then plug it back in order just enter my password on my PC, every time. I really wanted to like this board and keep it for a long time, but I couldn’t live with all these issues, all of this was in less than a week of having it, so I returned it.

    Good, but not good enough

Yes it has Bluetooth mode, but obviously you don’t use that mode if you’re gaming. AND it the signal will randomly cut out for 1 or 2 seconds while in WIRED mode… hopefully they fix this via firmware update. Also the board itself feels a bit cheap. Keycaps have rather sharp edged and isn’t pleasant to type on if im being honest…Ultimately returned the keyboard and bought a Ducky One 2 mini instead. Yes the wait times on them are quite long but they are worth it, and only $10-$20 more than this board.Ultimately the keyboard is not a bad product by any means. But when you have many minor faults, it adds up to become an annoyance rather than a great experience.

    Unreliable Bluetooth connectivity

Let me start out by saying this is a great key board for its ascetics and built quality, however the unreliable and flakey blue tooth connectivity make for a truly frustrating experience. Since i have got this key board i have had to constantly reconnect to my computer every time I unplug my key board or when ever it just doesn’t feel like working, which is quite often. Seeing how this keyboard cost north of 100 dollars, the janky bluetooth connection should work flawless. Its a shame that such a good looking and feeling keyboard lack reliability. RIP my dreams of a perfect keyboard and my wallet.

    Great quality keyboard.

I have a couple mechanical keyboards. Royal Kludge, DAS, Code, but I wanted to get a wireless one. I got a wireless Velocifire awhile back and thought it was great for the money. Definitely great for office work which is what I was using it for. I ended up giving it to my wife for use which she is enjoying. I noticed my desk gets a bit cluttered and I do not have to have a keyboard that has more than 87 keys. So I decided to sort of look on and off but just so happens this Anne Pro 2 was on sale for $89.00 and there was also the Royal Kludge RGB wireless. I had a wired RGB white with red switches and a RGB black with brown switches. I ended up gifting those away and I use my DAS Professional with blue switches on a regular basis. Build quality is good. I never heard of the Anne Pro but seemed to get really good reviews so I decided to jump on the deal. The keycaps are not as good as my DAS but there is a good weight and durable feel to the keyboard. Even the charging cable it came with is really nice with an attached velcro strap for travel. I thought I wanted customizable RGB but I don’t think I really do BUT the LEDs are bright and crisp with a better adjustment between hues/shades. RK RGB are bright but there is the restriction of the usual basic colors in the rainbow. The light shines through keys very well. I’ll have to say one of the main things pushing me to purchase this instead of the RK is the print of the letters on the keys. It is easier on the eyes, not using obnoxious “gamer/futuristic/robotic/cool” font. Additionally, RK has all the function adjustment symbols on the face of the key. Anne Pro and Ducky keyboards have the functions on the side so it is very subtle. Not complicated the keys when you look directly down at the keyboard. The lowdown: quality wireless mechanical keyboard with a good build quality with RGB customization. Spending about 1/2 as much ($50-60) range is going to give you no RGB customization, lighter/hollow feeling keycaps, and possibly obnoxious font used on the keycaps.

Perfect for everything but Mac OS Catalina (Bluetooth)

I really wanted to use the Anne Pro 2 with my Hackintosh setup but turns out Bluetooth doesn’t work with Mac OS Catalina (10.5.6). If you want to run the latest Mac OS version using Bluetooth I would look elsewhere, the Keykron K6 might be a good option but it only comes in black/gray.I’ve also run a few tests to see if maybe it was my system or something else other than the keyboard. Unfortunately, it came down to the keyboard not being compatible with Mac OS Catalina even after updating to the latest firmware, I even tried the Alpha release and nothing. On the other hand, it does work perfectly with Mac OS High Sierra and Windows 10.While this didn’t work out for me it might work out for you, I’m hoping the product description will be updated with disclaimers or they release a working firmware version for Mac OS Catalina.

    Great Keyboard. TERRIBLE Bluetooth.

I love the form factor, the customizability and arrow functionality, and the box white switches. So good. There are only 2 negative things I can think of. 1) I get multiple inputs occasionally, but it’s infrequent enough that I can’t say for sure if it’s me or the keyboard. 2) The bluetooth function simply doesn’t work 95% of the time. Trying to pair with devices is just maddeningly random, as well as switching between devices. So you can not rely at all on having any wireless connection and should just consider this keyboard wired only. That is a big downside only because of how great the keyboard is otherwise. I want to use it on all of my devices all the time, but constantly unplugging and reconnecting to different devices of course is not going to work out.
